  • My finished out-of-the-box build shown in detail. I cover the good (lots) and bad (little) of this kit. Note: the color appears light in the video. The actual color (Tamiya code shown in video) is actually a very good match to the real car and much darker than depicted.
Here is another build/review of this same kit for another perspective:

Great video. I have one of these kits ready to be built. I will definitely consider your suggestions and advice. Good looking work! Thanks for sharing.

I painted my first one Candy Apple Red , I’ve bought three of those kits so far ( one became a Grabber blue Boss429 ) . Yes the ‘69 didn’t come in the color I used , but if I owned the car it’s the color I’d have chosen . I’ve built a few of the Revell Shelby fastback ( yes sportsroof ) and a couple convertibles . I know the older Revell ‘69 Mustang had problems with the kits but I built a nice Black Mach1 . Nice kits , glad Revell is still producing !

And if you notice the shock tower areas look like a Boss 429 ( modified by KarKraft ) , not that of the regular Mustang design .

And my one complaint ( yes other than the hood decal ) is the rear valance should have notches where the exhaust exits .

And I attached both the front and rear panels , sanded and puttyied , and painted it complete , makes the gaps look better .

Hi, Chris here.....I just came across your video of your kit build. I'm building the same car & I will most CERTAINLY agree with you on the front hood stripe decals. They did NOT sit flat for me at all!!!!!! I am repainting the body as we speak & I may not put the hood striped on again. I know a few builders used them & had no issues.....I wasn't that lucky. I also used Micro Sol & Micro Set & still the round edges were crinkly. You may want to leave the hood stripes off if you didn't go back & add them. You did a terrific job on it though, I will say.....love the color & the overall model is beautiful....well done.
