Beautiful job on both cars! Thanks for the side by side comparison, I see the front fender extension (head light bucket) is much improved shape wise on the new kit. I'll be looking for the new one at my LHS next week.

Thanks Jim!
I’d like to see a time lapse of you working on a model. I bought the 69 302 boss revell model, and I’m a bit intimidated.
That would be cool but I'm not there yet.
Awesome job! You need to do a wht one with a red interior. My friend had one. Standard seats. No wood grain.
I have two more Boss 302 kits and I plan to do the last two factory colors of Wimbledon White and Acapulco Blue! All Boss 302s had black interior.
Great looking model. I have the same kit "in waiting". Been stuck on what color to go with. I always like a white car with black trim/interior. But I wanted to do something different. I think calypso coral is the way to go. Can you suggest sources/options for the paint? If not the actual oem color, the best alternative to come close? Thanks!
I use an airbrush and the paint is from Scale Finishes.
sweeet extea nice hae a merry christmas lub scktter
haha fld cha
Thank you! You too!
I just got this kit and I was curious how you went about painting the hood? I know the instructions come with a template, but how did you make sure the paint color matches the color of the hood decal?
Jeff Muller I didn’t. I put down the hood decal outline and then clear coated over them. That makes them glossy. Then I masked as close to the outline as possible covering as much of the decal as possible. Then I air brushed semi gloss black over the clear as the last step.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Thanks for tip and the fast reply! Amazing build. Nice job.
Both look awesome! Do you use lacquer or enamel paint? The 2k clear you use, is it cellulose based to go over both?
I use enamel. I like the fact that it dries slower which in AZ is really not a problem. The clear I'm using is Sherwin Williams CC939. It is real urethane clear for cars. (I have a video on it). I don't know much about it other than I have had very little problems with it! You can pull up the MSDS on it online.
The Muscle Car Modeler Thanks. I watched that video. I appreciate it. I’m used to using enamels but I am starting to use lacquers and want a 2k clear that will cover both.
Robert Bishop I have used the clear over the Testors Spray lacquer (Big Bad Blue, Grabber Green, and Grabber Orange) It sprayed fine and looks great. Only issue is that it didn’t actually grab onto the base paint. So if I stick any masking tape on it I risk pulling the clear right off the paint. Had it happen on a 70 AMX in the Big Bad Blue. It came off as a clear sheet.
Hi! 2 beautiful builds! I’ve got a question about final assembly and attaching the front fender extension and the rear trunk panel/taillight panel. Can both of these panels be attached before putting the chassis in? It would make it easier to glue them in if it’s done before the chassis goes in, but it makes getting the engine positioned into the engine bay a lot more difficult. At least it looks more difficult. Any advice is welcome, since you’ve got a lot more experience than I do! Thanks, Chris.
Thanks! I glued the front and rear sections on before painting. I have the engine glued into the chassis before install into body. When installing chassis, put the rear section in first.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler thank you! I was actually just test fitting the chassis with the front and rear panels tacked in place when you replied! There’s definitely a trick to it! Thanks for getting back to me and thanks for the great videos! I just subbed and I’ve watched a few of your more recent videos.
great!
Did you have to paint the chrome edging on the window frame. I dont think it comes in the pack. ???
Roger Byrne I used Bare Metal Foil on them.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I know how these models come as I'm currently building the Revell Mustang kit so I really appreciate the detail and quality of work you've put into those. Thank you for your reply and sharing your experience. 👊
Awesome builds! Shouldn't the bottoms be body color/ primer since their uni-body cars? I'm asking since you seem to do killer research on your builds. I'm building a '69 shelby, and two '70 Mustangs.
Yes. They should be red oxide primer with body color overspray. I haven’t tried doing that to one of these Mustangs because of the multi piece floor.
Also most of these Mustangs I built long ago and didn’t worry about painting the chassis like that. I really like the over restored painted chassis like I have done on a few recent builds but most the time I like them black.
i think after petty went to run the 68 nnd luv revel hi scooter d
I'm not sure what you mean.
Could you build me a 1970 Grande mustang I'll contact you with my Facebook or whatever and get you paid I don't know if you tried doing any 3D printing. I could also send you a Ford mercury cougar kit with a Ford Fastback kit. For a conversion I'll pay around $65 and I'll pay for shipping and I'll send some nice kits for you to keep. It would make for a good CZcams video if not I totally get it I just shake so bad I can't even build it those fast backs are second to none. absolutely Beautiful .
Sorry but no. I just build for myself and build what I want. I do have a resin 69 Grande body myself and plan to make a Shelby De Mexico GT350 from it!
