Being from Covina ,I use to live about 1 mile from Russ Davis Ford . Gas Ronda was a hometown hero in my book. My Dad bought his cars there. Enjoyed your builds on his cars. He use to bring his cars out for all to see at the dealership .Great memories .Thanks . New sub here for sure.👍👍
Thank you!
Superb Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt , I love how it looks and how you made it , with a lot of details and the orange paint is fantastic . The decals , the good and the rims are amazing . Thank you very much for sharing this great video !👏👏👏🏆🥇👍
Glad you like it!
WHAT THE......You built a RACE CAR!!
Another informative video. 👍
Yes, I build a few. LOL!!
Wiki has a great article on Gas Ronda. His life experiences would make a really good movie.
I'll have to check that out.
That's a nice and pretty accurate tail of this car. A lot of research and detail without turning it into a 'rivet counter' like they do with a lot of armor. So many people don't know that cars like this were really built from the factory to race
Thank you! I like the history and that makes some of these builds even more fun to build. Plus it sometimes answers some of the weird questions. Like if you don’t know the rules at the time. First thing that comes to mind is… What the heck is with the single exhaust on this thing?
@@TheMuscleCarModeler that's exactly what I thought when I seen it! There a lot of rules like that and each class had their own. I also liked what you added about the wheel combinations and the dashboard plaque.
Thanks!
Got to admit it your builds are great 👍I have got to wait for Saturday to come around to see what you have to show for this week
Thanks! I have trouble deciding what to show for the week!
Another great video. I have the limited edition of this kit and have some real life photos of a white one that I want to replicate, so thanks for the history of the car. Don
Sounds great!
I love the history of this car and back in the 90s I built the Bob Ford thunderbolt
I want to build both versions of the Bob Ford Thunderbolt. Have the decals and kits!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I wish that I still had it, I sold it on Ebay back in the early 00s! I bought me a mpc 72 mustang mach 1 kit today at a antique store for $35 and its never been painted on and just the engine and wheels been put together.
Awesome build sir. Coincidentally, I literally started reading a Kindle book last night called "Lost Muscle Car Dealerships" by Duncan Brown. The first chapter includes info on both Russ Davis Ford in Covina California, and salesman / drag racer Gas Ronda, who worked there for a time. The dealership was right across the street from Clippinger Chevrolet, another legendary muscle car dealership.
I have not heard of this book. Might have to check it out!
Amazon has this book for $36.95. I'm going to order it next payday. 😊
Really nice build, and once again, excellent history on the car, I really enjoy that! I have the Tasca Ford kit in my stash, have had it for a while. Thanks again for sharing.
Very cool! I had finally got that Tasca kit and wanted it for a long time. When I built it it made my older build look horrible so I got another one of these and built it.
Beautiful build and a great history lesson.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome finish on the T-bolt and the drag history lesson. I like watching the old video clips of factory stock drag racing from the 60's... TCWAGS 👍😎
Thank you! I like watching the old clips as well. They are really cool.
Awesome drag car, I love it.I have the Tasca Thunderbolt still sealed, Thanks Ron
Right on!
Sharp build of a rare drag car!
Thank you!

Thank you!
Cool looking build.
Thanks!
Really nice looking builds. Thanks for the history on it too.
Thank you!
i luv this color combo have 2 kits different year release date one blue georgia shaker other red i did research on poppy red and turns out #8 budwiser earnhard car was in fact poppy red thanks for sharing dou luv your channel scooter d
Oh cool! Did not know that Earnharts car was the same color.
Nice work
Thanks!
Great looking build Raoul! Looking forward to seeing videos of the other three. When I gathered info for my project I found pictures of white and red thunderbolts, so when I saw this, I knew you definitely checked thoroughly the 'correct' colour. Poppy Red is more toward the orange tint than the red tint spectrum. It works perfectly with the champagne gold interior. The addition of the single exhaust, is the type of attention to detail that you are famous for....at least to me! LOL! NICE!!!!!
Thank you! I can't take credit for the exhaust as Revell did include it in the kit!
Awesome build.KUTGW buddy.
Thanks 👍!
very very nice
RJ
Thank you!
Nice work brother. One of my favorite cars on the dragstrip. Came out really nice. Well done.

Thanks!
A friend of mine has an original white 4 speed car.
Very cool!
Great build! Think I have to break out the kit I got.
Thank you! When I make these videos on my old builds I often remember how much fun some of these were to build. Then I want to start another one. This kit is a fun one and I have 4 that I have built and have 2 more unbuilt in my stash!
Very nice!! Are those the kit decals or aftermarket? I have a few of these as well and wanted to know if you know where to get the other decals? I have a couple from Slixx. I remember there was a guy on eBay that a bunch of different drivers.
Thank you! The decals are the original kit issue ones.
Looks great! What brand and colors of paint did you use on the interior?
The gold is Tamiya TS-75 Champagne Gold.
1st v9ew!! And comment and like!
You rock!
have 2 one is still in box other is blue w/georgia shaker decals like the poppy red nice color on the interior period correct p.s where do you get your paint thanks scooter
Very cool! I usually get the correct colors from Scale Finishes. Order right off the web sight.
Will check that out been gorooin all kinds of paint researching sprayin chrome Molotov through a air gun thanks dou lub scooter
Love it. Is this kit currently available?
This kit has been reissued about 7 times. Last one was in 2017. Each time with different decals so if you want this decal version it was only issued the one time! The latter kits have generic decals.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler Yours is the second recent review in several days that I've seen.
@@TI4438 Yeah, It's funny. I saw the other video last night and thought what are the chances. I filmed mine earlier in the week, then edit and schedule for Saturday He was building the exact same 1990 Hot Rod issue! Revell made a ton of them and they are easy to find on ebay now.
Thunderbolt had no warranty. I know for sure due to having one ordered until they told me no warranty so I stopped the order. Wish I had not stopped the order.
Thank you for that! I know some Mopars had the sticker on the car that said that but I could not find anything on the Ford race cars to be sure. I know a few other factory race cars only got a 6 month 3K warranty.
What color did you use on the interior ? Nice job check out my channel
Thanks! I used Champaign Gold metallic.
