DUNE 2 disc vs. streaming: yes 🙂

As somebody has recently researched a lot of TVs, I will agree this the Hisense u7k stood out for its price. However, I found the TCL S555 to stand out even more. It’s approximately half the price in the 75” size and delivers most everything you could possibly need. The picture is worse, but we’re splitting hairs here.

Well I need one for cancelling gym noises. (teenagers screaming about their stuff between each other). I'm between this and the Sony's. Anyone has any experience in this scenario? I was also thinking about the airpods but meh. Battery life not good and too expensive.

Just a quick question. Can you still buy the Tcl Qm8 without thinking about it ? Like 80% say its a awesome Tv and the other 20% say its a cheap China Tv. So whats your thought ?

Would the game problem not be solved with hdr10+ implementation?

How would the 97” G4 (given it doesn’t have MLA) compare to the 97” G2? Would the biggest difference between the two be the processing, and how much of an impact would that have without MLA?

The G4 is excellent for watching hockey. I tune it for the uniforms and the bright ice. It made dim every 15 or 20 minutes, but it always comes back in less than a minute. If it goes to commercial it will cancel all the dimming or if they shot with the crowd. I highly recommend the G4 because I am really enjoying the Stanley Cup playoff like never before, and the dimming is an afterthought. Only after very long stretches of play will you see it dim And I am very, very fussy. I wouldn't trade this G4 for for the world, especially when it comes to watching hockey.

I used to think it was overpriced and still do to an extent. I have used the fire tv 4k before and loved it. Then I upgraded to a premium tv and I really love the dolby vision picture on apple tv a lot more than others

Because it’s shit, it’s the worst messaging app iv ever used, my job has me using it for communication, but iv been having problems not even 3 days after downloading it, got banned for no reason, successfully appealed but then couldn’t get back into my account because the codes they send don’t come in, tried sms, tried calls, they never come in, the app is shit, with zero customer support

I have a LG OLED55C6P curved tv from 2016. It has what I would consider quite significant burn in. It’s been great though but I’m going to upgrade to the G4 this week. Looking forward as I assume I’ll be blown away all over again.

Oppenheimer wpuld be noticable. No shifting aspect ratio in the streaming version.

What happened to under $20k? If I'm going to spend that much I'll get a 98 inch OLED.

After constantly juggling several streaming subscriptions for 10+ years, paying a single cable bill and getting virtually every piece of entertainment on the planet (including live sports) doesn't seem as bad as it used to.

End of projectors Caleb? Wow...I hope not! Typing this on an OLED at my desk in my bedroom. However, in my main room, I've been using an Ultra Short Throw projector for about a year and a half now. And it's just been fantastic. It's like having my own movie theater. My screen is 120", but sometimes I just watch it against the wall, because then the picture is even bigger. And if the projector breaks I can lift it up with one hand to take it to be sorted. Whereas, I find a TV of that size somewhat intimidating especially if it were to break. (And I've had friends and family whose sets have broken surprisingly quickly. One of them just out of warranty.) I also like the minimal presence of the projector when it's off and its screen is rolled down into its case. That I'm just seeing the wall then. The TV might be more appealing if I had a bigger place that wasn't upstairs, but I don't know. I think there's still something to be said for a projected movie theater style experience. An experience of reflected light. I sure hope that projectors continue to advance giving those of us who are enthusiasts that option.

really....We're leaving Amazon because of ads. When it's time to re up, in thee weeks Amazon won't be getting $20,000 a year from me, because they have offended us with ads. For a tech company, they seem like they pick shows, and advertise things that I would never watch or buy. It's like they're going out of their way to offend us. So I'm going out of my way, to cut them out of my life.

I only bought a PS5 with a disc player so I could watch 4k. It might not be as good a player as the PS3 was for Blu-ray but it's still worlds better than streaming 4k movies. I'll def be getting dune 2 on disc.

I Have samsung 8k tv and recently purchased samsung q990C. When I enable hdmi E-ARC, the sound disconnects and I can see the tv cycles through the outputs. Any fix for it?
