I would def like to see a comparison of the streaming and 4k Blu-ray versions of any movies! Bring it on!
Yeah! Would be really interested in your opinion!
Yes please!
stupidity comes in twos 🤣
Yes!! I’ve been debating getting a a dedicated blu ray player over my ps5
I would also like to see it. It's interesting to see how big difference it really is.
Streaming vs 4K Bluray comparison for sure!!
Dune² & Oppenheimer 🔥💯
love this format dude! great info
Comparison of stream vs UHD 4k blueray for Dune 2 would be interesting..
You can detect differences if you watch them side by side.. I buy disc because I prefer to keep the physical copy of the movie that I know I'll watch time after time.
@@moo8698 I know.. I wanted his view of the difference.. I have the UHD blueray..
Yes, please compare Dune 2 4K Blue Ray in your awesome player vs. streaming version.
You rock!
Love, love, love. Exactly the type of video I am looking for...and yes, I'd love to see a streaming vs disk comparison. Thank you so very much
Love the news format and to get a summary of the week. Hope you cover leaks and rumors as well in future episodes and not only press announcements
when will we get the IMAX aspect ratio on blueray? :(
Love the video. Keep them coming. Also, the Blu-ray vs streaming comparison video sounds like a great idea too.
After constantly juggling several streaming subscriptions for 10+ years, paying a single cable bill and getting virtually every piece of entertainment on the planet (including live sports) doesn't seem as bad as it used to.
Hell yessss Caleb!! I’m already loving this new series!! 💪💯
The comparison video sounds interesting, hope you make it.
I love this quick info vid style it's awesome
Definately woudl like to see your comparison of Streaming Atmos Oppenheimer and Dune 2 vs. 4K disc versions
I definitely want to hear your opinion on 4k blu-ray vs streaming, particularly for Atmos
As for digital versus disc, it would be very nice to see a one on one comparison due to the fact that a lot of media is no longer available. What do we need to do? Do we need to find a better service thanks.
To what extent are the features of the Onn 4K Pro streamer already built into most smart TVs?
3:52 great new video segment Nit-nerd news this is awesome... The Disney bundle sounds awesome but what will happen if Sony ends up buying WB?
Do the streaming vs Blu ray comparison for both Opp and Dune please!
Love this format
Heck yeah, let’s see a streaming vs Blu-Ray comparison.
Definitely would like the dune bluray vs streaming comparison
Great new format!
Love the new format
Please do comparison of streaming and disc for dune and Oppenheimer !!
I’ve tried a short for a projector for a year, 120” Samsung had 2700 lumens. There are so many downsides to a projector and screen specifically short. The alignment of the prescreen and the projector is a constant battle. The screen is mounted to the wall that’s fixed. Now the projector is on a very, very low TV stand and constantly gets bumped slightly, which creates a picture to be off a large amount. It’s near impossible to get the picture perfect aligned. It’s not really bright enough during the day as the screen you use is an ALR and is usually a gain of .6. A gain of 1.0 doesn’t lose any weight from the projector or add any light, where a gain of .6 you are losing 40% of the light. The reasoning is you have darker more contrast background older projectors used to use a higher gain like a 1.3 to boost brightness washed out when the lights are on. Highly recommend staying away from a USTP and screen. You’re never gonna get the brightness that you’re looking for projectors really need a controlled room no what new technology they’re using on the screen. Salamander makes USTP stands, and they’re extremely well-made, they’re also extremely expensive at near $4000 just for the stand. This is why you’re so much better off with a 98 inch TV at two or 3000
I suppose everybody will be of their own mind regarding this. However, to mine, there's 22 reasons why that 98" wouldn't suffice after my 120" experience. (And would definitely go for the roll down screen. Unless you have a dedicated room.)
What happened to under $20k? If I'm going to spend that much I'll get a 98 inch OLED.
Cool newsy video! Love it! So..would you say the onnnnnn (sp?😂) is as good as the AppleTV 4K, or is the AppleTV still the best streamer?
Video review is coming next week from Phil
This is your first time doing this kind of news show, right? I like it.
Yes, please do disc /streaming comparisons.
As far as streaming services go, I wonder if we will see 2nd tier services like Paramount and Peacock team with Netflix to create a competing bundle.
How are more people not talking about streaming bundles? In a short time there will only be two-three big streaming bundles, and then prices will balloon. It has been depressing to watch the dream that was Streaming, die.
DUNE 2 disc vs. streaming: yes 🙂
Oppenheimer wpuld be noticable. No shifting aspect ratio in the streaming version.
I would like to see a comparison of streaming vs Blu-ray. I imagine it won't be hard to decide which is best!
4k Streaming v Bluray comparison is something I'd love to see. From personal experience I'd say that while I can tell the difference in the picture it's not that big of a step up. It's really the audio which has the biggest difference. The lossless audio on a Bluray is really what takes the experience to the next level.
Chump change for this TV ha ha ha ha lol.😊
I'd be very interested in a streaming vs 4kUHD versions of movies. I still buy movies I really like (or expect to like) on Blu-ray rather than pay for the streaming version. Subjectively, I do find the streaming versions' quality to be not as good as expected. I don't know if it's my Internet provider (Verizon Fios), my equipment, or just my imagination.
I saw Dune 2 three times in imax. As soon as it was available I bought the UHD movie from prime and it's a marvel to stream. Picture and audio are unmatched by anything else at the moment, imo. Since I have Max as well, of course I'll roll it there and see how it is.
Excited for the new recurring content Caleb! Now I just need to check why CZcams didn’t notify me of the video. 😡
yes to 4k bluray vs streaming!
End of projectors Caleb? Wow...I hope not!
Typing this on an OLED at my desk in my bedroom. However, in my main room, I've been using an Ultra Short Throw projector for about a year and a half now. And it's just been fantastic. It's like having my own movie theater. My screen is 120", but sometimes I just watch it against the wall, because then the picture is even bigger.
And if the projector breaks I can lift it up with one hand to take it to be sorted. Whereas, I find a TV of that size somewhat intimidating especially if it were to break. (And I've had friends and family whose sets have broken surprisingly quickly. One of them just out of warranty.) I also like the minimal presence of the projector when it's off and its screen is rolled down into its case. That I'm just seeing the wall then.
The TV might be more appealing if I had a bigger place that wasn't upstairs, but I don't know. I think there's still something to be said for a projected movie theater style experience. An experience of reflected light. I sure hope that projectors continue to advance giving those of us who are enthusiasts that option.
I love watching Caleb he’s one of my fav tech guys. I hope TCL and Hisense REALLY step it up even more.
Nice video keep up the good work
In would love to replace a 98 inch TV with my 2013 Benq projector in my theater basement, but a bend in the stairs won't make it possible. 😭
why, I don't see any problem. considering where the bend is, you just need to switch position and hands with your partner while going down your way to the basement holding the TV.
A------B @bend B------A ( A being you holding the TV on one side and B your partner holding the TV on the other side.)
You do need to maneuver the TV a bit to align it to the 2nd lane of the staircase after the bend.
@@Sas-wk9lj I had a home theater company come out and measure it and kind of told me, it may not fit down the bend which that is a lot of money to chance if it will.
@@AaronMcFarland May be they are professionals, but I'm sure I could device something to get the work done. You just need to pass the TV over your staircase's rails at the bend, instead of trying to take a U turn with the TV at the bend. Sometimes, professionals go by the book, so they may not be your best consultants for your unique problem.
@@Sas-wk9lj I do know a 8 foot piece of drywall wouldn't go down the stair case.
@@AaronMcFarland Perhaps you could cut through a temporary reactangular opening of the size a bit bigger the TV's height x depth on the surface of your floor (ceiling of your basement) if that's feasible.
You can then drop the TV through that rectangular opening and another person to maneuver it from your basement.
Yes compare!
The 115 inch TV is very impressive especially the peak brightness
This isn't gonna be the end of projectors by a longshot though. If those short throw laser projectors integrated mems mirrors so they could draw the image roster style, you might lose brightness but you can get much better motion handling than any LCD or OLED is capable of, without any interpolation.
I don't know if manufacturers would do that because of the cost, but I have a pair of Nebra Anybeam MEMS projectors that I run in Nvidia surround for gaming and the resolution is low but it has the motion clarity of a CRT while running at 60 frames per second.
If they could integrate the same technology into a modern laser projector and keep the current level of brightness it would definitely be worth buying for a lot of people .
Dune Part 2 on 4K disc destroys the version on Streaming! 😂
Yes! Comparison video
Never thought I’d see Caleb go from “ Editor At Large “ to “ Host “. Love it though.
May be he's looking for a career as a news reader/ reporter
98" and decent picture quality for $3K or less? Yeah, sign me up!
I don't understand people asking for comparison between physical 4K disc vs 4K streaming. Surely they either have crappy 4K Bluray player or have incorrect settings or their hdmi cable may be faulty or tgey don't understand how streaming works.
They can't be serious as the streaming can never be on par just because the number of network hops the a/v stream will have to take to reach your TV even if your network bandwidth is high vs a single hdmi cable between your 4K Bluray player and 4K TV.
Ad free streaming options still beats cable hands down.
Not for sports.
I only bought a PS5 with a disc player so I could watch 4k. It might not be as good a player as the PS3 was for Blu-ray but it's still worlds better than streaming 4k movies. I'll def be getting dune 2 on disc.
Please do the dune 2 disc vs stream
There used to be time some 7-8 years ago when projector reviewers/ salesperson would warn you that you could not get any far with TV size beyond a certain limit like 75 inch TV as it couldn't be brought in through your front or back doors. Hence, the projector. Now all of a sudden, where did that problem go away? Have the houses suddenly got large doors in case the owners or occupants needed to get an elephant walk in through them!? 😂
Not mine.
27 thousand what?!
Dollars. Bucks. 😲
Hisesne are going to kill the $1000 - $5000 projector market and I'm all for it! To long have that price projectors been poor but you didn't have a choice I think we will see some cool projectors come out very soon to compete!
The projector I got has good performance and was already half price versus some of its competition. Very much hope we continue to see this forward march.
27000 ? Wuuutttttt , why so expensive ?
Yes please compare! I just wish some streaming services would let us pay for unlimited bitrate for those who have fiber optic connections -_-
Kaleidoscope does that. I wish Netlix c.s. also had an option for that, including lossless sound. It would put general broadcasting to shame and maybe put them on a path to finally cancel many useless channels and take that bandwidth to increase the bitrate for their flagship channels. It's about time they make UHD and HDR with wide color gamut and progressive frame rates rather than interlaced the standard. All modern tv's easily support it, you can't even buy a regular HD screen anymore.
@@notsorandumusername amazing. I will check this out, thanks for the recommend!
Great big awesome tv doesn't make lack of quality programming better.
Just bigger.
And when you do put quality programming on it it's also bigger.
I’d like to get my name on the Christmas list of everyone who spends $27k for this TV
this be my Christmas 🎄🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁 lol
A 27K tv puts projectors on notice. Oh boy. The tech bias is strong with this one.
I have a JVC D-ILA 4K projector. I helped a friend wall mount a 100U8K and that TV absolutely destroys my JVC in every picture quality aspect (brightness, color depth, sharpness, screen uniformity, Dolby Vision, low input lag, 120hz, etc.). And the Hisense costs a lot less than the JVC. Plus that TCL 115” signals the death knell of projectors, when that display comes down in price, it will quickly become a mainstream product.
My next display will be an extra large mini-LED which will retire my JVC projector.
Still missing 3D. Pfft.
3D is dead unless it is James Cameron move on.
Projectors do not compare to modern 4K televisions unless you are getting paid to say it
Better buy camry
TCL's 115 inch TV is no doubt an achivement for them, and hopefully a sign that some of it's tech
will make it down to more afforable models in a few years time.
There is only one problem, don't laugh but it's barnd image, those with deep enough pockets
won't be boasting about buying one after they tell their freinds what the brand is.
Sadly brand snobbery still exists, Sony can ask a premium fot their models as they have bulit
a reputation for high quality that is a bit more expensive than most.
TCL are pushing the other brands hard on price and the gap is closing on quality, but not in
the luxury area of TV's i hope they get away with it.
I could see it selling to rich techies who shop by spec more than by brand (the techie Linus Sebastian of Linus Tech Tips has featured it) but yeah, I don't see huge sales for this set.
It's possible this is meant to be a "halo product" -- you don't actually expect to sell it, but it improves your brand image and attracts attention to your other products.
don't stream Dune 2! get the 4k and be blown away!! its official release was 2 days ago. not "several weeks." only some reviewers got early copies. as for a comparison video knock yourself out but we ALL already know which is better.
I can't fit the 115 TV in my condo...
Sucks to be you 😂😂😂
In just 3-5 years from now, 120 inch TVs will be as cheap as any 65 inch TV today. Mark my words.
Nah. It’s not the panels it’s logistics/shipping. Large format displays will never be popular until they can make delivery and installation more convenient. The micro led panel system where you piece together smaller panels to make a single larger display is much more likely to succeed.
75 is all you really need, a 55 on a desk is pixellated, your never gonna get a 3,000k bucks couch and watch the super bowl, just go anywhere. A 7.1 fits anywhere a 75 will go, and nobody's gonna listen to high pich sally for four hours.
There are some projector technologies that do an excellent job of hiding the pixel structure. Yes though, the 48" panel I'm typing this on is on a stand so that it can be further back from my desk.
Long as Disney continue butchering my favourite characters instead of creating new ones, my interest in anything Disney is zero.
Why? People only buy crappy chinese tvs cuz theyre cheap
No because we don't have parents hand me down money or are r/4ktv users flexing their TV while poor shaming people who don't buy overpriced TVs
When you go big format displays, this is actually better than most projector solutions. The brightness and contrast is unmatched for its size. And it doesn't have the pitfalls of microled - high power consumptions, seams between the panels, panels degrading at different rate. It's also a order of magnitude cheaper.
Try the px/BX if you military friends. Can find high end TVs for 30% cost. Found a 75" 900B for 1450$
@@vagamer522 If you can only afford to drop 400 or less on a screen, you shouldn't feel entitled in any way to think you deserve entertainment constantly, I'm an autistic screw-up and that doesn't stop me from getting a better job or more hours
Im not paying 27k for a tcl
I'm not paying 27k for any TV!
