Finally watched this movie and I gotta say I enjoyed it despite how depressing it was. The film is not just a critique on the school system but also on martyrdom. When the two kids first meet Chul he is undeveloped and coping through the violence and pain of his own life. But then once he finally starts to show some growth and actively tries to better himself, both Jong and Min betray him in a way. Min might have been more loyal to him ironically at the end of the day, because it was Jong that was more dependent on the image of "The King of Pigs" to be alive. He was more than willing to sacrifice Chul for it. But once he realizes that nobody really believed it, not even Min, his whole world falls apart. Jong sacrificed his own soul and dignity to uphold a lie that not one ever believed. That is fucked. But at the same time it's real. So many people in the world dedicate their whole lives to something that no one cares about. But they need to pretend it matters and the energy it takes to uphold that can drive people insane. Psychosis is real. But yeah a solid 8 outta 10 for me. I wish animated films were allowed to take more risks like this.
