When I saw this film years ago, the ending had my jaw on the floor. I just thought Do-jeong was cognitively delayed victim and that he was innocent. Like mother, like son.
I have never seen a Korean thriller where a serving cop actually solves a case without criming.

One important detail I think you forgot to mention is that Do-jung didn't throw the stone at her for no reason, it's because she called him stupid before leaving. Every time someone called him that in the movie, he went into a violent frenzy. This one just ended up being fatal.
He did say that though.

I still can’t believe that the actor who played the son is the same guy who was the main character in Man From Nowhere. I’m glad he’s taken time off for himself but man, he’s such a good actor I really hope he acts again someday 😭

CZcamsr Accented Cinema did a deep dive on that movie and it scarred me for a few weeks, especially with the scene with the guy is peering over the bathroom stall and then all you hear is screaming.

from my experience, you can always see elements of critics and sarcasm about cops and governments even in some KR light comedy drama, for some reasons
God damnnnn, this is actually ultimate despair. Minimal gore, but leaves you with a sinking feeling of dread and a slimey layer of grime

Oh, Parasite is a good movie. But this one-THIS ONE. It’s disturbing, scarring, and it will leave you thinking about it for a long time. I highly recommend.

not that disturb esp vs. 2005 lady vengeance, 2007 inside, 2010 bedevilled but still solid film and great choice! HM. 1999 all about my mother, 2002 dark water, 2014 mother. happy mother's day too!
