The kid wasn't just playing in the balcony, he was trying to pick up the laundry like mom said dad should do. The poor kid was literally just trying to help out.
neglection can do to children
So they were both at fault.
Holy crap, I remember reading this manga YEARS ago! Crazy to see it covered in a SpookyRice vid!
Same!! This dug out memories from the dark recesses!!
@@cierrajanemgood to know that people still enjoy horror comics! Its pretty niche in my area so seeing Spooky cover this is pretty sweet.
The cycle of hurt never really stops. Even when presented with a life of peace and hope, that person is already filled with anger and resentment like the very people who hurt them. Like a toxin was injected to them and now they’ll spread it to everything they touch. Seichi had a chance to let go and move on to people that would help him. But he refused, he held onto that anger. He wanted control and power because he didn’t get that opportunity to stand his ground before. Which caused him to ruin lives that did and didn’t deserve to be hurt, including his own.
I think it's hard to let go then most of the bad things happening in your life is because your surrounding are the complete assholes.
I feel bad for a guy who became a complete psycho in the end and now will live long before another "prey" or old age get him.
Spooky, bringing the graphic novel arts to the people.
I second this
He is awesome. Not many youtubers willing to show horror comic other than crossed and uzumaki.
Spooky is always about the people first.
@@cefrinaldi8060to be fair, CZcams is kinda at fault, since you can't show anything slightly brutal anymore
this is manga
Damn, that was a dark ending!
I hoped the poor woman would be saved but he turned into a monster too.
The illustrations are really great!
This horror manga will scare the crap out of you, but not too much to the point where you will eventually lose your own sanity.
I think the only piece of media that will make me lose my sanity is Lucifer Valentine's Vomitgore trilogy. This manga was awesome and surely bring fears to the one that read it.
Man, honestly, I would LOVE to see you cover Fuan no Tane! It's a collection of short horror stories with fantastic illustrations! (there's also one story in particular that's surprisingly heartwarming, tho I forget which volume)
Bro the editing is top tier. I WAS HORRIFIED, INTRIGUED, AND FASCINATED. Your narration got me hooked.
I love the art of this manga. It's probably hell to make but it really pays off in its execution.
I have 3 horror manga recommendations.
1. PTSD Radio. This manga legitimately traumatized me.
2. Junji Ito’s adaptation of Frankenstein. The story is beautifully and faithfully adapted and is just as, if not more haunting than the source material.
3. Made in Abyss. This is a phenomenal, award winning story about two kids facing death head on, and venturing into the Abyss, in search of the main character’s mother.
I gifted physical copy of this manga to my friend for his birthday two years ago, feels nice to know it was SpookyRice approved!
Anyone else feel bad for that cave boy? His little vacant stare was breaking my heart for some reason 😢
You should look into Scumbag Loser. Its definitely not my favorite horror manga because it's kinda awful and ended terribly, but the faces the monsters make in it are creepy. I read it years ago and couldn't remember the name, but i remembered those weird faces!
Also, a korean webtoon named Bastard is a good one that I enjoyed reading!
bastard was so good, but the ending was kind of anticlimatic to me. i think its hard to nail endings on those kind of stories.
Ibitsu is a very creepy horror manga I read ages ago. You should check it out, very brutal!
Bastard was fuckn great
Is great to see you narrate these horror stories Spooky, hope to see more soon
Nijigahara Holograph might not count as traditional horror but I think you may enjoy it.
Ice Cream Man is a horror anthology series that can be pretty interesting sometimes.
Homunculus has a great concept in my opinion.
Hellblazer: Freezes over can make a good one off if you don't want to tackle the whole series.
House of Mystery (the 2009 run) is an anthology comic with an overarching story, so you could pick and choose.
If anyone, SpookyRice or otherwise, would like more recommends let me know in a reply, I may be able to find something that suits your taste.
Great video! I loved the little details of added audio and movement to the manga panels - it really made the story come to life. Well done!
The art in this manga is gorgeous
Spooky giving some attention to the graphic novels that deserve it
You should give Jinmen a shot! It's a Manga about animals with human faces. It's like Jurassic Park combined with Attack-on-Titan with a lot of disturbing moments.
“They got kidnapped, but wait there’s more”…. Well I hope so, it would be very boring if that was it.
I read this manga and it is indeed disturbing but the artwork and story is freaking incredible. The ending was also pretty shocking and a little sad
I randomly found this manga actually translated into my own language a year ago. It's pretty good ngl.
The manga artist should create a Batman comic with scarecrow as the main villain
dude that would be so peak
I enjoy every video you post, no matter if it´s about movies, comics or in this case manga. I'd recommend if you haven't done already to take a look at Ibitsu, holy f, I still get goosebumps at night when unconsciously I start thinking about it, one of the greatest horror mangas I've ever read.
One of my favorite horror manga is Go Nagai’s Devilman. It’s a classic series that has spawned an equally disturbing anime adaptation.
Really loved the editing on this video! It really pulls you into the story. For a suggestion, maybe 6000 by Koike Nokuto. It's a deep sea horror manga that I don't see mentioned a ton, but it's really good!
I Love Halloween (pretty sure that’s what it’s called) about some kids dressed up for Halloween but the zombie apocalypse started and watching all their neighbours get eaten alive and descend into madness. Almost made me sick as a kid. I’m sure if I reread it now it wouldn’t bother me but as a kid, zombies were my biggest fear, someone being eaten alive and the sounds and sights terrified me.
Also thank you for voicing this. It helped me after I read the manga, I missed a few parts...my bad! :)
The art for this manga very terrifying. I love it! Also a good manga series you could cover is Fuan no Tane.
Holy Jesus the art in this is amazing.. can’t get over it!
As for suggestions, the only horror stuff I really ever got into was Junji Ito and the long series “I am a Hero”… if you ever wanted to do episodic crap, that would work. Zombie-ish apocalypse that has an unexpected explanation but the visuals are super creepy. Also had some good memes come from it at the time
Love this type of content Spooky!! Love it! Please make more similar once maybe a bit longer once too! Looking forward for more!
My favorite comedy horror manga has to be FRANKEN FRAN by Katsuhisa Kigitsu. Think Black Jack, but uses their talent to make grotesque horrors in the name of good 'ol science. It has an episodic format so it's pretty easy to digest. You get horror, comedy, tragic irony, and macabre visuals.
Thank you for all the effort you put into this - excellent!
You know its a good day when Spooky uploads! 😊
I always appreciate your disturbing comics videos my friend. I understand they’re not the most popular, but I love them.
PS LOVED this video. Didn’t want it to end! Man this manga artist is fire! I need to start reading his stuff.
Kakizaki's art is always insane! One of the only mangaka that can rival the late Miura-sensei along with Inoue. I definitely recommend diving into Green Blood and his other work! I'm still waiting to get a hard copy of Hideout in English lol
Or Rainbow.
@@moderatecanuck Ah, a fellow man of culture I see lol. Damn right, Rainbow is an all time classic masterpiece.
Oh wow, read this a WHILE ago, haha. Crazy to see Spooky cover it.
Good vid as always, man
Yayyy I’ve been waiting for an upload!
Spooky, i now for sure what manga you are talking about just by looking at the tumbhnail! I'm so happy this channel exists and is producing awesome videos! Thanks for your work, and i hope you will get the hype you desirve one day!! ❤❤❤
This is my favorite channel. Great work!
Great video as always Spooky! Keep it up man. For horror manga recommendations there's a lot. If you want slasher horror that's also fun to read I'd recommend Pumpkin Knight or Kichikujima. But if you want classic you can't beat The Drifting Classroom (The author wasn't afraid to make younger characters suffer in this story). If your feeling ballsy and want to dance around the youtube censors I'd recommend Suehiro Maruo's adaptation of Caterpillar by Edogawa Ranpo. This is the same artist who did Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show so the body horror is up there along with the sexual content.
this manga remains one of the true art masterpiece. The shadow, lighting, beautifully drawn.
thank you spooky! great content
That manga was freaking awesome. The artwork is immaculate. And i just know about this manga today, how blind can i be. Thanks for introducing the manga. Is there any sequel?
Had to wait for the merch to arrive before watching 💀 Quality hoodie! Thanks for ze content.
from hearing that scary music in the background to this, is amazing
This was epically DONE thank you so very much 🥹🙏🏿🤝🏿🫶🏿
Thanks for bringing more attention to this incredible manga. As far as recommendations, I'll suggest The Drifting Classroom.
I’ve read this before and man it’s great, personally I would love to see you cover bibliomania or mano no le
Love u, spooky 💖 love from Mexico
not sure if you already made a video on it but the book ‘no longer human’ is amazing !!! i love junji itos illustration of it and i think it would make a great video:)
Incredible artwork!
Freaking amazing man loved it fr
I think I've read this one long time ago, but forgot if I've ever finished it. Need to check it out again. Thanks for reminding
I remember reading a manga about a girl fearing butterflies. I forgot what the series is called since there are a few books in the series like Mirrors, Butterfly or Insect I think.
You rock man, keep it up spooky Rice ❤
Now you’ve given me recommendation for reading a horror manga. Definitely gonna read this tonight.
The art is amazing!
not sure how disturbing this manga is, but i really like « blue heaven » by tsutomu takahashi. i found it recently.
other suggestions of f•cked up manga:
• « happy sugar life » by tomiyaka kagisora (also made into a one season anime if you dont feel like reading)
• « rivers edge » by kyoko okazaki
• « red theatre » by chise ogawa
• « helter skelter » by kyoko okazaki
• « the kurosagi corpse delivery service » by eiji otsuka and housui yamazaki
• « reiko the zombie shop » by rei mikamoto
• « satanister » by rei mikamoto
the last three are more light-hearted with a lot of dark comedy and gore if you dont want to feel hopeless by the end of the story.
Kichikujima, Freak island, is one of my favorites. Pumpkin Night is also pretty good.
It's a longer (and possibly still ongoing) manga but if you liked this manga, check out Kichikujima. The art is incredible and I flew through the issues!
Not sure if you’ve done Dokumushi yet but that one right there…all I gotta say is..BRUTAL. It’d be a great video.
Continue the crossed content. I love watching the videos.
MY SPOOKYRICE HOODIE SHIPPED ALREADY I'M SO EXCITED AND AN UPLOAD IT'S DEFINITELY MY DAY!!!!
As a horror fan, from Dawn of the dead to Vampire Hunter D: Blood Lust. appreciate your content and your energy brother. I might read this one ☝🏽 👍🏽
The main character is the Vin Diesel of Japanese horror manga. He just wants family.
amazing art
Amazing art.
That is some really good artwork
6:05
The frame transition to illustration of the boy here is sudden and absolutely terrifying 😂
Looking forward to a spooky rice October 🎃
higanjima would be super cool to see covered! would love to see your thoughts on it
you deserve to be averaging at least 1 mil every vid
I hope you do Oshimi Shuzo's works like Flowers of Evil, Trail of Blood (which I HIGHLY recommend) or Happiness.
Just received my “Cue the Gohan” shirt today 🔥🙌 I need to read this manga. Would love to have this physical version. I haven’t read it yet, but Hellsing Ultimate. I love the abridged version.
I read this manga when I was younger! Happy to see it's Spooky Rice Approved 🖤
Name of the manga?
A good series to cover would be "Hell is other people", it was also adapted to a tv series I believe. It's a really good story, even though the art style is simple, it's very eerie and I think does a good job conveying the spooky elements.
I would love to see you do a video on FrakenFran or Homunculus!
frankenfran is one of my favourites. i nearly forgot about her.
That thumbnail pierce through soul
It would be amazing if you could do a video on the "Creature!" manga by Shingo Honda. I think you'd really dig it if you haven't read it before.
Damn, some of the manga's artwork reminds me of the original drawings in the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" book series.
Well, it's a manhwa (Korean), not a manga (Japanese), so I don't know if this counts, but my suggestion would be for you to do a video on "The Tarot Café" series. It has gore, it has humor, it has violence, it has some psychological aspects, and it has a beautiful art style.
If it must be a manga, then I recommend the "Petshop of Horrors" series. There are four stories in each volume, and each story is pretty much contained to one chapter,. The overarching plot is about a detective trying to solve a bunch of crimes that tie back to the petshop, and his attempts to find evidence that the mysterious owner is involved in illegal activities.
id love to see you cover Hellstar Remina or Uzumaki!
I really think you should do a video about a film called “ the painted bird “ it’s incredibly wild and so up this channels street
Dragon Head by Minetaro Mochizuki, very spooky and underrated.
It’s light on gore, but I really like the vampire Hunter D anime and manga. That or demon city shinjuku. Both a little old school, but I think they’d be viable for the channel. An love your work. You’re the only one who covers this stuff. I salute you!🎉
The Drifting Classroom
one of my favorites. a lot to read lol
Imma need this!
I really like all of Junji Ito's works. Its hard to pick just one, but I plan to reread Frankenstein for the season.
We need a movie of this.
Agreed
I don't know how but Saichi is so much scarier than the monster man, I think because it's unexpected from the monster man.
Very wonderful drawing. Gives me Portal vibes.
I’ll say it again, ya gotta do the feast trilogy
I would like to recommend The Painted Bird. It is a ww2 movie that falls into the category that falls into the category of troubled kids.
you should do Guinea Pig 6 Mermaid In a Manhole, it's my favorite and pretty much the only good movie in the entire series, it's also really well shot and disturbingly beautiful while managing to be really gross at the same time
asking for a video on Chi No Wadachi cuz it just ended and its totally awesome
Goddamn this was GOOD!!!! I can't believe I've never heard of this "til this day. I'm definitely reading this in its entirety.
I remember reading this one. That ending was creepy. Really good Halloween read
This was a beautiful video
Spookyrice out here scaring me with this Japanese stuff
idk, nothing F'd me up more than Crossed
