This movie was actually hilarious. Outside the murder scenes, Art the clown was really funny in psychotic and disturbing way. Then the gore was so over the top that it was just comical. Had a good time watching this one.
True I Freaking Love Art The Clown and His Facial Expressions 💀
That's exactly what I thought. It's a black comedy and a really good one at that. It's so absurdly over the top and I think because of the use of practical special effects, it looks goofy in the most amazing way. I loved this movie. And the ending where the sword lights up came so out of nowhere and was so silly. Easily spotted that with the special effects and the music they were paying homage to 80s B-movie horror flicks and I really appreciated that. This is an instant Halloween classic to get your mates around, drink, smoke some weed and laugh your ass off.
The thing that won me over in the horrendous death scene of Aly (Allie?) was when her mom finds her and Art is shucking it all up to some big practical joke. He's laughing at the scene he created, which to us is absolutely horrifying beyond words, but to him it's just a bit. And that's really when it all clicked for me, Art is doing all of this stuff as a gag and a joke. Now I would never want to be at the end of one of Art the Clown's "jokes" but I get that that extremely macabre sense of humor is kind of what he's all about and I absolutely love that. It's so fucked up it comes back around again as being funny.
Definitely a movie for gorehounds and soon Art The Clown will become as iconic as Jason, Freddy, Leatherface and Michael Myers.
Yeah, I definitely feel that I can only ever watch breakdowns or explaination videos on Terrifier since there's gore every 10 seconds. I mean, people walked out of the film because there was so much gore
I also feel like his popularity is to some memeable moments like his sunglasses sceen.

It would be a kind of cool but possibly expected twist if he is actually their dad. Like their dad went crazy and became the villain but gave them the sword as a tool.
the kids are a mirror to art. the boys obsession with art like a connection, height, him being possibly being a mental case. her and her talent for making things with her hands, her costume, even her personal color scheme of what she wears. they hint she mental as well. most of those things are inherited from the parents. at this point it would be disappointing and huge waste of build up time if it wasnt true. i dont need to know who art was in his past but i dont want a movie where most of the things they show are purposeless, waste if time and misleading. just nonsense thrown on a wall because damien isn't really a writer, just the special effects guy.
Sienna making armor out of worbla, foam and leather: Lasts throughout that entire ordeal with minor damage.
Cosplayer making the same armor with the same material: 2 hours walking on the con floor and the straps are broken and the paint is chipping.
The second scariest character in the movie is the Mom. She just keep going off on those kids 😅

As an avid collector of horror movies, this is one of my favorites. Easily top 10. I respect that the Director made the movie he wanted, and not the one the studios put pressure on him to make, and it shows. It reminded me of the old classics; you know, taking creative risks because you can. Studio horror just can't do that. It has to be formulaic. As many times as I have watched Terrifier 2, its length doesn't bother me. I am so engrossed in the film that I never feel the running time.
From all the online arguments about the merits of this film, I have come to the conclusion that Terrifier and Terrifier 2 are made for people who grew up with horror movies made from late 70s and early 80s. I laugh every time someone says, "it's bad writing." "it has no plot." It's indicative of a person who doesn't know why they don't like the film, so they can't express it. Therefore they resort to basic, almost inflammatory and vague statements. Take for example, "it has no plot." Really? What was the movie about? If you can tell me, then you just told me the plot the movie didn't have. One guy was like, "it's just a mime killing people." Yeah, it is....and Halloween is just a guy in a mechanics suit killing people. Friday the 13th is just some lady killing people. LOL, you can take ANY plot and boil it down to a one-sentence plot and say, "it has no plot."
Point being, there are just some movies that are made to attract a specific audience. If you aren't that targeted audience, that's ok. No one is better or worse for being a part of it. :)

fun fact, the first terrifier didnt bring us art the clown. the movie that did was an anthology film called All hallows eve. (its a neat anthology movie), you should check it out as all the segments link together

I used to call them possums until I saw a video called "Opossum Vs. Possum" by the Critter Squad Wildlife Defenders channel. They said that possums live in Asia and Australia, while opossums live in America. Possums are considerably smaller than opossums. Possums vocalize to scare predators, but opossums play dead. Also, possums have furry tails and opossums have scaly, furless tails.
@Ragtime44Films Possums are native to Australia, New Zealand, and China while Opposums are native to America and Southern Canada. Plus Opposums have white & grey coarse fur while Possums are much smaller & round with golden/brown furry coat. I think your the one who needs to use Google for two seconds.

Hey Mr Rice, would you consider making a disturbing breakdown on Elem Klimov's Come and See? It's a war movie so not exactly horror, but it definitely has that ultimate despair vibe.
Yeah, it's up there in my top war movies... even the sound design keeps the viewer on edge. It's not every day you see a film where live machine gun fire flies inches over the main actors head!
Loved the first one, halfway through the second one though, it starts getting random and the actor is a buddy of a family member so that’s fun 😄 loved David’s work in both

Omg, please telll me I'm not crazy, but I'm 100% sure you used to have a disturbing breakdown of Terrifier 1 years ago before anyone else covered it! I know because you dropped the hilarious line, "but wait, Art's got the strap, and he just pulls out a gun and shoots her ass!" Or something to the effect. Please let me know if this masterpiece, or at least that clip, can be seen anywhere 😂

Really enjoyed this one. Liked the first one aswell, but this just nailed it with both the humour and the madness. "Fun" is probably the best way to describe it.
The infamous bedroom scene was one of the most disgusting/horrifying kills I've seen since Terrifier infamous BDSM Kill Scene.
The run time wasn't that bad and the people saying it has no plot are looking wayyyy to into it and are casual viewers of Horror for the Blumhouse crowd
I think the runtime was great, honestly. No studio involved to tell the director he had to compromise on his script makes me very happy.
And it's only 2 hrs 15 minutes. Drives me nuts that someone might not be able to handle sitting down to watch 2 back to back episodes of a TV show worth of a movie.
The problem is not that "it doesn't have a plot" but that it HAS a plot. It's an issue because like 90% of it goes nowhere, they heavily hint that Art is the father, but it goes nowhere. The Clown Cafe part? 0 explanation. We know that Art has supernatural powers, but now he can enter dreams and affect reality like Freddy? What's with the freaking Deus Ex at the end? Sienna dies then a magic sword brings her back then the woman from the first movie gives birth to Arts head.. What? What was the deal with the little girl? It is hinted that she was Arts first victim in a single line and that's everything we get about her. Why did Sienna and her brother got plot armor at the end? It is hinted Art wanted them there for something. Again, not explained or anything. Now, don't get me wrong, I liked the movie, but I still prefer the first one because it was a simple Slasher. Terrifier 2 had some great scenes and Art is *chef's kiss* in it, but giving Art more supernatural powers, making magic swords and trying to give Art a origin or reason for what he does? W H Y? That's what ruined Jason, Frreddy, Leather Face, Michael and basically every Slasher villain.
My dude people get their open wounds salted by a clown in a fucking apron in this movie. You actually don't have to overthink every aspect of everything.
It's like listening to that self-important Needle Drop prick review a Gwar album from a non fan standpoint. If you're worried about character development lacking then you got off at the wrong train station.

They way art unalifes his victims is just evil and sadistic. He's what 80s slasher critics made them slashers out to be. Like, holy fuck the way he slashes at that one girl on the bed is just on another level, and I'm not talking about the scene when her mother arrives. I mean the brutal ruthless violence. It's freaking disturbing.

I believe its been said by the creators (or someone akin to a position thereof) that Art the clown's supernatural abilities not only include some form of Immortality, but also Incorporates this nightmarish faculty to keep his dismembered and ill fated victims alive through otherwise impossible and over the top mutilations until he is done playing with whatever poor soul that has the ill fortune of crossing his path.
