While I understand you did preface your list by saying that you didn't figure the drop year, requalification is not purely based on AOY average and therefore your requal list is somewhat incorrect information. 45 will requal based on AOY avg. Rookies won't have an average. They have to qualify based on being in the top 15 of this years standings of rookies/those with underperforming AOY average. Then they take top 5 from the TW invites. For instance, Drew Gill who is #4 currently takes up the first spot in the 15 NON-AOY Avg spots, therefore another veteran in the back of the AOY avg list is safe. Based on his own video, Matt Steffan is currently the last man in the top 15 non-avg requalification where as this video portrays him as about 10 or so positions out. So a more accurate representation would be to take the top 45 of your list, and then go through the standings and select the top 15 in the 2024 standings not in the top 45 of your list.

I run the regular shad as a top water. Reeling it in as fast as needed to create a wake on the surface. Which is actually how Mike Bucca created it to be fished

One other thing unless they have improved in the past year the split ring will open with a big fish in grass if you crack em it will open. I was told me don’t use braid. After that I use owner HW split ring and a better snap also on the blade.Personally I use a 14#- 17# Hybrid line.I will use 20# PE around the cain edges in the marsh with a 8’ cranking rod so I can send it. 100’-200’ ahead and be able to set the hook and get it off the cain and towards deeper water. Any thing other than that I use the 14-17. I will go down to 12 even 10# in open water if I have to get deep and stay there.

They work good I have been using them about 8 years. They not good in wood at all. The Humdinger Zig-Zag is a good one too. The Delta jig comes in blue I take the skirts off and put it on BJ an kill em with that blue and white head and blade. Here in south Louisiana on marsh bass and spots in the upper rivers around sand and gravel beaches with clear water grass patches. CHECK OUT DELTA’S buzz baits 👌🏼 and there spinner baits they closer to perfection than a brand with B Y and some O’s in I 🤫🤫🤫🫡

I was there watching it go down. Live, at the venue. It was awesome watching Skeet win in my favorite fishing spots. And Jeff as well as Thrift really turned up the heat late. So proud of the James and lok forward to next time

There should be an exemption for this year’s rookie class to fish next year. Them having to go from 5 best to every fish counts is a big adjustment in the entire philosophy and style of fishing that, for many, takes an adjustment period. So instead of dropping to the current set number of anglers, add the amount of rookies to that number and drop that number of total guys the next year. *Edit:* these rookies got hosed.

Yes, the BPT tournament on the James was TRUE bass fishing… pretty much all styles, different lures, and limited to none FFS

I have fished in 3 musky tournaments and they all were "shotgun" starts. Everyone points in direction they are gking and gooses it. We let them go. We didn't want anything to do with that mess. Few years prior a ranger up front steering cable snapped at 60 mph. Boat was skipping sideways. Some say it being a ranger is what kept them upright. I don't know.

Ive fished with Trey since he was eleven...i can tell you rite now that he is a honest young man that is gona set the bassfishing world on fire...Trey gets so wrapped up in CATCHING fish that he forgets things associated with fishing...Ive seen him get in the zone of catching that he forgets the little things...He doesnt do this on purpose its how he goes about fishing...Please take it easy on the little feller as he is honest as the day is long....As far as his fishing, well he gets better every year....hmmmm stay tuned folks!!!!

This was one of my favorite stops to watch in a few years. If anyone had picked that top 10 on their fantasy league, I salute them. Definitely not the same old line up and it made it exciting to watch. Now onto the St. Lawrence and it will NOT be as exciting to watch. Although it is one of my top fisheries to visit and in fact I will be there during the event, it does make good TV. Thanks for the breakdown on who will be leaving, and it will be interesting to see the final list according to the BPT.

James was the best BPT event of the year IMO. The drama at the end was fun, but also the fact that many methods of fishing came into play. I’ve grown tired of the video game on the bow. Yours is one of my favorite sites. I like your honest, no nonsense approach to topics not everyone covers. Keep up the good work.
