- The Ultimate Angler World Championships bass fishing tournament will be held on Lake Guntersville and winner will win $500,000 dollars. Anglers will not be allowed to use forward facing sonar, will be held over three days with two days of practice and will fish for a five fish limit. Unified Pros, a new organization, is hoping that pros from Major League Fishing, Bassmaster Elites and other organizations will come and fish this event and make it the largest pot fishing tournament of all time.

I think 5,000 boats is a bit much, but with no FFS I'll watch it because I think that's the true test of a real fisherman using instinct, experience and guts. If this is true, I can't wait!

That time of year on Guntersville is all about the Frog and punching mats anyways. FFS not needed. I went frogging yesterday on the G and had all my transducers off. Just mapping was turned on. I may try to fish something to get qualified, but that is usually fall break time and we go to the beach for the 1st or 2nd week of October.

As if the fishing pressure on Guntersville is not massive already. There are locals there that will crush the FFS guys in the first 2 weeks in October.

That is a LOT of anglers - where are they getting the prize $$ if there isn't an entry fee. The part I'm interested in (depending on the field) is BASS vs MLF guys. Kind of like back in the '60s when the AFL faced the NFL before they merged
I think 'most' pro anglers will join, or I hope so. It will be a lot of fun to see them all compete against each other. They have some under writers for the tournament so that might be where the money is coming from. Cheers and tight lines!!
