Former infantry. Diagnosed and medically discharged for Sinus Tarsi Syndrome L ankle, in 1994. Documented antalgic gait while in service and ever since. Obtained a Nexus letter from a Doctor to secondary connected my diagnosed Rt ankle traumatic arthritis, bilat knee arthritis, pain and instability, bilat hip osteorarthritis and lower back arthritis. Two years in and they just connected the lower back, but have denied the knees and hips twice now. I also have in service documentation on discharge of PFPS on one exam, then five days later it says, "Not currently". They have also increased my back from 10% to 20%, yet sent me a letter saying they are reducing my overall rating because the back shows improvement. Even though the same letter says my last exam showed worsening of symptoms. The VA sucks.

Not really related but I had a therapy session with a psychologist back in 2021 and I disclosed that I was adopted when I was younger and had bad grades in school. From 2022-present I’ve been dealing with mentally taxing depression and anxiety that stemmed from a few in-service events. I’ve sought out mental therapy for almost three years now, have been checked in to the psych-ward, and am currently doing out-patient therapy (all in Service treatment records, along with ICD diagnosis). My question would be, am I screwed in my Mental Health claim because I disclosed my adoption during my childhood and also stated that I felt bad for a few months? Current diagnosis of MDD, GAD, and Adjustment Disorder within the past 12-months. Currently on active duty and will be utility BDD in 3-months. Thanks in advance

The VA has nothing on health problems caused by PFAS while the civilian community has overwhelming evidence, movies, and documentaries. The movies "Dark Waters" and "Erin Brockovich" are just two with great evidence. The VA won't even test your blood.

Question....(and i apologize for this being long winded, but I'm a stickler for details and it helps paint a clearer picture)....So a couple years ago, when i first started the VA disability process, i was using a service. That service filed a bunch of service connected claims, with one of them being "sleep apnea"...I was still new to it all and didn't have the knowledge of how the system works, so i just went with it all. So that service connected claim for sleep apnea was denied due to lack of evidence. Fast forward to late last year, I got service connected for Allergic Rhinitis and Chronic Sinusitis...fast forward again to earlier this year, I wanted to do a claim of Obstructive Sleep Apnea secondary to my service connected Rhinitis/Sinusitis. I got a sleep study that confirmed OSA, got the polysomnograph result, official report from my ENT doc, and a letter of support from my ENT doc stating the connection between Rhinitis/Sinusitis and OSA....However this secondary claim was denied almost immediately (literally within 5 days) because it was filed under the wrong form. Apparently, the ORIGINAL sleep apnea claim was still valid as far as dates, so i needed to file again as a supplemental claim to the original one....Does this sound correct? Does this situation help or hurt me in any way? ... because i hear that secondary claims are easier to get approved (with proper evidence) than supplemental claims or trying to get something service connected on its own

I'm getting screwed. They can see the difficulty of the mobility but still keep that rating. I dislike these fly by night examiners who write the DBQ all wrong.
