Leab explains the difference between bruxism and TMJ, highlighting that while TMJ involves the jaw joint, bruxism is about teeth grinding, which can occur consciously or unconsciously, and may be linked to stress or previous oral trauma. Is there a way to file for bruxism? I have been diagnosed with bruxism by two dentists I have seen, but have been told by other vets that it is not something that can be turned into a claim. Thanks.
Hi sir if you follow up with an accredited legal professional they should be able to advise you on this
I was told on active duty by the dentist that I grind my teeth. My civilian dentist was concerned and had a mouth guard made for me due to lots of grinding. When I got out I was denied bruxism and have PTSD which was rated. Iâm at 90, but donât like the CNP doctors they sent me to before they didnât seem to care at all. Should I apply for not again?
I am sorry to hear this sir. That is totally up to you. Best of luck to you with this.
Do you help with claims?

Thank you for watching!!
I was wounded in combat Marine Corps. The VA dentist told me that I grind my teeth in my sleep. The dentist put veneers on the teeth I ground down and lengthened my canine teeth so I couldnât grind my jaw left and right.
Sorry to hear this sir @@johncasper8193
I recently was granted bruxism but they just added it to my service connected anxiety all into one. I have been diagnosed with TMJ. I hope this idiots donât try to add it to anxiety too
Best of luck to you with this!
Same
Bruxism is not a compensable, stand alone contention. However, certain conditions can be granted secondary to bruxism. Ex: if bruxism is subsumed in a mental condition, certain conditions can still be granted secondary to it, even though bruxism is NSC.
Thank you for the feedback and thank you for watching
