dx and kc pro rocs for me. Bag like minimum 6 of em. can throw em for basically any shot up to about 250, after that im swapping to a fairway driver.

I just bought one, and i decided to test it out on a windy day. Long story short a sudden gust of wind picked it up and threw it into a pond. Never got to beat it in. i plan on getting another one soon. I wonder how similar it would fly compared to my beat in lucid escape which is currently my favorite straight disc in my bag.

How do the lunas compare to a mcpro aviar?

Supposedly the vulture has a smaller rim thickness than the undertaker. Would you agree with that? Is it really closer to a teebird3?

I bag 3 zones. One of them a first run test flight. It has the thumb track. And is to what I've felt close to the k3 hards. I do love my soft zone tho so plan to pick up a k1 soft berg to fill that void

My stable fairway driver is the discmania magician. It’s rated at 6/4/0/2 and It works well for my arm speed. It has a nice flat flight with a reliable finish. A beat in magician does get a mild mid flight turn, but always fades out at the end. I’m in the neighborhood of 275-300 ft of distance for reference.

Thanks for the tip. Never heard of the Logic before. My bigZ Luna was a mega disappointment when it didn't have that 03 fade I was looking for. Their Challenger (soft) proved to be so much better. And the Envy isn't bad either. My 03 putter is a Streamline Stabilizer and it's just awesome.

What weight do people recommend, mostly for 50ft or less putting mostly

I would love to have seen you mention light weight versions of some of the discs pros throw. I don't have the arm speed for the Destroyer but when I throw a really light weight Destroyer (140g), it's my max distance driver

That TD Driver is my go-to driver as I'm getting used to throwing faster with my forehand (under 400 feet).

I love the Zone as well, but the DGA Breaker is just as you say that perfect ”in between”. A straight Zone that is just so easy to throw. But unlike you I have also always loved the hand feel. I get such good releases with the Breaker!

does the crave replace the teebirds in your bag?

As a former FD thrower, the crave is easier to get going and at 7ish speed that extra touch matters.

Have a flake champ Teebird, and what I dislike is it tends to gain in altitude when thrown harder. Tried a friend's lucid Explorer, and it flew very level, which is what I needed for a shot. So I'll be switching to the Explorer. I wish I could try a ton of discs before I pick one, but when I see one that works, I'll get that and not risk buying the unknown and be disappointed.

I have only thrown an A2 a few times before passing it on to a friend. A disc that I regularly bag which is very similar but more workable imo is the Järn from Kastaplast. Especially in soft K-1 plastic it has a nice straight flight before a reliable fade. I know people call it an "approach" disc however I use it more in the os mid slot. It's like a faster zone with a more straight flight before the fade. K1 plastic ones are usually more beef than K-1 soft out of the box. K3 (baseline) is even more beefy when fresh. I have only tried Z zones so that may be why. While bagging a Järn I also bag a harp. A more os puttery like disc. Imo zone is somewhere in between those two :) Have a nice day :)

I guess this why my Star Teebird from '08 still doesn't flip and flies perfectly. The Firebird has the same lip btw.

I like what you're saying, I throw 350' distance controlled and the grand irony is I have bagged an Innova made TD in D-Line for a while now...as my go to roller. It's beat in due to the D-Line plastic and drops that edge without having to try. I'll be crushed if I ever lose it! But to the point of the vid, with my distance it has taken literally over 30 years to come to the realization that while there are times to try and run some 12/13 speed, but throwing them all in a field it can be very educating to see that while the higher speed discs can get out there further, they're not THAT much further than fairway drivers. Pair that with this winter one of the winter-only courses (MN, Brookview) was set up this year to be mostly 250' or less. I made the conscious decision to go to driving putters or mids as often as possible and it has notably made may overall throwing better! My slept on disc will seem odd for how long it's been around, but it's not a sexy new driver so I think a lot of folks (understandably) chasing new hotness skip right over it. I vote GStar Tbird as something every normie like me should have in the bag. Just stable enough to be dependable, but with a gentle fade. It's also cheap to replace--especially as it's always available in F2 on Innova's factory site.

Thanks for the video and content! The comments about “Ams” and disc speeds is directionally correct, but is way too restrictive. First of all…Ams is basically all disc golfers with varying arm speeds and talents. “Pros” is such a small group that it’s almost not worth distinguishing. Second, with control drivers I think the most important thing is simply to ensure they don’t overlap with the fairways. For this slot, I use it to take on more understable and overstable movement than I can get with slower discs. So I throw a core of 2-3 slower fairways and then roadrunners and firebirds which can take on lines my other fairways just can’t. On number of molds and discs -> for most people this goes up if you mainly play wooded courses because the lines are extremely specific compared to what you typically show in these videos. It’s not right or wrong but it demands a different approach to disc selection that will be different than windy and open

Hold the discs still you tweaker. You cant hold still can you?

As a lower-speed amateur, I bag what I need, but since I'm always using the same cart every day, I'll fill it with discs that fill every slot for each category. I may only throw 8 discs in a round, and those 8 discs will be the ones I throw more than most, but I like having all the slot options covered, just in case. FYI it's 24 discs that I have in my cart at any one time.
