Good review as always! I’m picking mine up from my local store on release day. In the OS mid slot I currently have a Gator 3 and a Mortar that I am excited to compare this to! I like the mortar for backhand hyzer shots (I don’t like it for FH) and the Gator3 for FH hyzer shots. Would love a disc that excels at both!
Yeah this is definitely faster than both! It might be more overstable, but it's been a while since I have thrown both of those!
Just threw them all together! They are all quite similar in distance potential, but I like the new MD5 the best. It handles the FH torque better than my mortar! Keep up the great content man 🔥

Great review! Any thoughts on a comparison against the Discmania Method? Everyone keeps comparing it to the Mutant but the Method is a stable glidey midrange which may compliment the MD5 well.
The profile is just like the A2 and if it flies like that, it is way more overstable than the method. Method is a straight mid for pros but if this is like the A2 and the flight would suggest that, this does not really compare to the method.
I think this would be paired with the Method, the Method is a little straight and made to be more of a workhorse mid like the MD3. The MD5 is made more as a utility disc! Although I wouldn't say it's as overstable as an A2... Those things are beefcakes!
I found the Neo Method poorly handled torque. This guy you can smash on and it’s not going to burn over

I really like a couple of the discs that came with the Teal stamps! Like we got yellow, red, and black discs with teal stamps that all look sick! And a couple reds that have the money stamp!
Great review. Lets see how it stacks against the Pyro. Doesn't seem to be as stable as a Deflector, Justice, or Mutant.
Yeah it's probably closer to the Pyro! I haven't thrown one though to say for sure!
I'm curious for your comparison between these mids and the Legacy Badger.

I think this is less overstable than an A2, the A2 is beefy! Same with the Anvil. I haven't thrown a Badger, so I can't say with that

Innova needs to resurrect the FAF Glow Gators/ring of gators/md5 mold.
Was thinking about this disc a lot today.
I carry 3 overstable discs in my bag. The Rhyno, the Justice, and the Firebird. I've had Rhyno and Firebird aces, but 0 Justice aces. Thousands of birdies, but no aces.
And it occurred to me.
The justice is for birdies and park jobs. Awesome disc, but doesn't have the glide to be a viable ace run disc.
And the side profile of this new MD5 is so damn sexy 😍 as is the flight.

The Justice will be tough to leave behind 😢 been in the bag 7 years

oooo, probably pretty close! I haven't thrown a Buzzz OS in a while though! much more comfortable rim on the MD5 though for smaller hands
How would you say it compares to the Supreme Fugitive? Seems like a better comparison than the Savior for sure. [But also everybody sleeps on the Fugitive.]

All good! Yeah, I think the Fugitive is close to the Pursuit, so maybe a touch more overstable than the MD5? But both very close!

Looks like an MVP Deflector to me.

Its hilarious how much people want new discs to be simply a copy of some other disc. As if there is no way a new disc could exist. Its not an Anvil or A2 douches. Its faster and just not the same. It really feels similar to a MindBender just deeper but super comfortable and obviously more stable
It and the Prodigy A2 to my eye are dang near the same mold. Anyone else see the same? Fly same,look same,feel same.
How does it compare to a Toro?
Definitely faster! Maybe a touch less overstable? But very close in stability, the MD5 is just faster!
It seems to be very similar to a Kasta Jarn.
I haven't tried that. I really need to try more kastaplast! I haven't tried anything but the Berg...

It is Discmania’s version of the A2 by Prodigy. It was supposed to be Gannon Buhrs first signature series disc. It’s very similar to the 450 glimmer A2 that you See Gannon throwing all the time. And was his USDGC commemorative disc. Unfortunately things got pushed back so they dropped it anyway for EO

with peace and love: innova has the caiman, croc, gator, gator3, toro, pig...so I would disagree with you when you say that all innova has in that slot is the gator.

This is sort of a shame. I loved the MD5 specifically because of the bead, gentle flight and torque resistance. Kinda stinks that it no longer will be that way.
Yeah I assume this would get mixed reviews from Discmaniacs. Those who love the changes and those who hate it because the original was perfect for them

The MD4 would be between this and the MD3, I think this is more overstable than the MD5

Since when is the Mutant more OS than the Justice? I've thrown both and they are extremely similar, the new Lucid-Ice Justice is the most OS out of them. Still nowhere close to a Troija by Prodiscus tho.
Oh yeah, I'm mainly talking stock to stock! the Lucid Ice and Lucid-x Justices are beefcakes! I was mainly referring to the straight lucid Justice
@@ApolloDiscGolf I've thrown a few Lucid Justices and a few Mutants and so far they have been extremely similar with the Justice being maybe ever so slightly more overstable. On the other hand, I have not seen a "straight" Mutant even with significant wear.

Foot fault
Nothing is the same, these reviews are just varing degrees of vapid vagueness. Nothing flies the same with personal throwing dynamics and arm speeds being so different. None of the new plastics they like to introduce weekly, shrinks the same. Where always comparing things to some sort of vague attributes of another disc we once used. Just say this new disc is a crap shoot, buy it to see how it works for you.
facts. run to run is about the only shred of consistency in disc golf
@@MK212074 How is it the most consistent when they always want to tweak something, you know, the newest plastics hype, all in a comparison to some mythic disc memory you used to be able to throw. Discs are buried under a mountain of variation, no 2 runs alike.
Vapid vagueness is kind of an unhelpful and useless thing to say. Just don’t watch review videos if you feel that way.
I enjoyed this video- getting to see a new product and get a better idea about it through this is way better than nothing.
@@wrturner3160 Things are too subjective to be useful. You might as well just say, drop $25 for $2 chunk of plastic and see what your arm can do with it, see you next week with another guesstimate.
Honestly, this is why I like his videos. I get nothing from watching someone who throws 5-600 feet. What it does for them will never be what it does for me. But I watch him throw and it looks very similar to the flight I get with the same discs. I know everyone is different, and it will fly a little different for me, but I get a lot more feedback from someone with similar arm speed.
