The only issue I can see with them to gripe about is how board flat everything seems to be. I like a little dome in my drivers.

I throw both these disc for the reasons you cite: Proxy for long approachs, and the Watt for shorter finesse shots. I’ll also putt with the Watt.
You went back and forth so much about these discs, it sounds like you need them both, too!
I’ve bagged a few envy’s and it took some time but I really like throwing them, just never took to the proxy the same way. The envy is so versatile I didn’t find a need for a proxy.
This is crazy, I am having the same exact dilemma trying to decide between my Neutron Proxy and Neutron Watt. Great video as always.
I bag a glow proxy and a somewhat beat in electron soft proxy - the electron soft is great for touchy nose up shots. Doesn’t have that crazy glide of a glitch or watt but it also feels more dependable in the wind.
I would recommend a proxy to anyone that wants to start throwing putters. Much more consistent than an envy in my opinion.
I love the watt. Put it on a line and it holds it, you really have rip it to turn it. You're right about it being more of touch disc, it's good at the same approach shapes as the glitch but a little less touchy and more wind resistant ( the glitch is really best at low ceiling/up hill putts ).
Oddly enough, i prefer the watt for a long curving lines, where as the proxy/envy is better for that strait at the basket shot
I would switch the turn ratings around on the proxy and watt if I could. The watt gets more like a -1 turn and is a great turn over and hyzer flip thrower and the proxy is one of the most neutral putters I've thrown, holds the line you throw it on.
You pretty much summed up my experience with both putters perfectly. My main throwing putter is the Proxy. I like to throw straight at the basket when possible on shorty holes, and the Proxy is perfect for powered up line drive placement shots. They work well with hyzers but don't tend turn naturally until they beat in a bit so you have to put them on a deliberate anny angle to lock into the line. The Watt however, I found myself accidentally throwing on slow turning shots from a flat release when I first got it because I'd power it up like my Proxy, expecting it to stay straight. For approaches with the Watt, I am consistently surprised with the extra distance it can get at low power compared to a Proxy. I feel like the disc carries momentum a lot better at slower speeds due to the glide and the extra diameter. It could be my imagination, but it seems to me like the Watt feels like it has more weight in its rim and less in its plate compared to a lot of other putters which I feel is another factor that allows it to push farther.
I bag a max weight neutron proxy for straight shots and pushing hyzers off the tee. I also bag a 154g fission proxy for my touch approaches and hyzer flips off the tee. Fission proxy is like a glitch with fade!!
I actually bag both of these for my throwing/driving putters. My proxy is actually more understable than my watt. My watt holds any line I put it on while the proxy is a slow hyzerflip up.
If you’re worried about the watt in the wind maybe try a pilot or ohm since they’re kind of like the envy/atom to the watt
I have ohm, which is little bit understable now. Flies like Watt. I had Eclipse proxy, and usually those are most stable plastic. I prefer ohm. Glide is insane and it feels so nice. Pilot should be same mold, but pilot I have is much more stable than ohm.

The glow is definitely my least favorite Proxy. The Electron plastic would probably be more comparable to the Watt. You should give one a try! Great content!

Weird. My Eclipse proxy flies identical to my neutron one. Was hoping for over stability, but it has the same slow understable drift to the right
The watt just glides more like a Glitch! Like not JUST LIKE lol love it. Haven’t tried a proxy yet but hopefully some day
I play Glow rounds weekly, so the '22 SE Ultimate Eclipse Proxy has broken in. Brand new it's stable.
The Watt, is still less stable than my Electron Proxies and my beat in '22 SE Proxy.

I can't really articulate what exactly it is, but the Proxy definitely has a kind of...intertia to it. It's not a disc that wants to be thrown softly. Obviously, you can, but it feels like a disc you really need to get some pop on to get anything from. Haven't managed to get my hands on a Watt, but it seems like it doesn't have that. I think I'd definitely prefer it to the Proxy, but I have a little less wind and love throwing putters on hyzer flips.
I'm sure it depends on your specific disc and form, but my proxy is way less stable than the watt. The proxy is hyzer flip to turnover and the watt will stay on any line with almost no turn. I find that a lot of mvp putters are different. It took me 3 envys to find one that actually flew overstable.
Is the proxy deeper than the envy? It says that proxy is 15 mm, and Envy 14 mm
The envy, glitch and proxy have been my putter line up for a while. I mist admit that the watt sounds mighty interesting
This is interesting because it clarifies some things for me in my own bag. I bag an Envy, a Proxy, and a premium plastic (Ice) Steady. I think the Steady is what I use for the shots that you are describing the Watt for.
I had some feeling about the differences but you put words to it. I use the Proxy for straight tee shots around 250-280' (which is a common hole shape around me). The Steady I use for touchy approaches and even shorter tee shots. Maybe I'll check out the Watt.

I own the envy, proxy, watt, several nomads and glitches…and I’ve thrown anodes and other mvp/axiom putters…and I would slot the watt between the glitch and the nomad, it’s slightly just a touch more understable than the nomad and far more stable than the glitch, I’m not sure if it’s super glidey like the glitch which to me the glitch has unnatural glide, but it’s made to go pretty straight with a hint of fade at the end and has noticeable glide. The proxy is definitely the “beat in” less stable version of the envy to me, it’s made to huck but not be so stable you can’t get it to flip or handle in wind. They definitely are a different kind of game or player as you suggest. The watt is made to be glidey but thrown with more touch or even as a putting putter, where the proxy is very much more on the side of throwing putter.

FYI the Watt is not modelled after the Glitch. It shares the same core as the Ohm which was MVPs overmold version of the Pilot. The Envy, Proxy, Atom, and now OP Particle all shared the same core with a different overmold. The Glitch is its own entity and currently does not share the same core with any other disc.
Should have compared the nomad too. It feels like the envy in my hand. I've never felt the watt proxy or glitch. 162g aviar is my glitch.
Watt is very straight and floaty and will hold any line . Proxy shares the same mold as Envy. I use the Proxy for low shots and putts when windy. Watt is my main putter as well at least until the Pixel comes out Watt is also easier to forehand for approach shots.
woud love to see more people use the ohm! little more stable than the watt to my knowledge, but not tooo crazy.
See, I keep both in the bag. Proxy is more dependable on full speed throws and definitely goes further, but Glitch (not Watt) is unbeatable for touchy punch shots within 150 feet

Im a huge Watt fanboy. Dead straight and it does everything that i wanted the glitch to do in terms of being a more useable disc on the course. Holds hyzer lines beautifully.

My game fits the Envy I like to throw hard and low but I have power and alot finnese 4hand. 250to300 wide open straight hole I'm throwing the pyro or Toro 4hand
I rarely throw my envy. I just use my meteors or reactor. If I absolutely can't 4 hand it which is rare for me
I bag both... Very similar on hyzer..
Ima envy thrower n always pared them with a proxy for the more under stable flight but for me the watt kicked the proxy out that being said I believe the glo proxy and watt make a good combo cause the glo proxy is still quite a bit more stable than a watt

Disc golf js so much more about touch/finesse than it is being a bomber. Still, everyone wants to be a bomber. Its useful on the pro tour but, not really needed in most am tourneys. Ive been playing with the hex a bit lately and have to say MVP/Axiom plastic is super high quality. I want to try some of their other discs.
They have a ton of great discs!

Eclipse plastic makes it a different Proxy putter than the Proxy in Neutron and Plasma plastics. I have a Plasma Proxy and an Eclipse Envy and I drive with the Eclipse Envy and approach and putt with the Plasma Proxy. I love the Glitch but it is too different from the other putters and it is screwing up my feel for the others so the Glitch stays home. If I am only going to carry one, it's the Plasma Proxy.
Try the Ohm. More stable Watt
I went into a shop looking for a Glitch to see how it felt in hand and was a bit let down by the comfort of it in hand. The Watts were right beside the Glitches so I just grabbed one and wow it did feel amazing in hand! I might have to try one out some time because I already throw Envy's which is a grip and rip type discs. And unless you have the space for an anny flex, it's hard to get it to go effortlessly straight for touch approaches. We'll see as my soft electron envy beats in more
My Watt goes dead straight from release to the ground. No fade or turn at all. It's like throwing a dart.
i would love to see a Pure and a PA3 compared to these.
