Just thought about it, your pattern blocks on the back just add a bit of painters tape toe eash to allow for the blad to move further

I’ve only just seen this video although I’ve had my set for months. My personal taste or style is to sharpen fairly constantly throughout a process of using a chisel or plane. Because of the limitations of the guide itself, it’s not easy, and sometimes not possible, to sharpen both chisels and planes without faffing around. So, I bought 2 guides and keep one for chisels and one for planes. A luxury? I don’t think so. Compared to the cost of my chisels and planes, it’s a great investment.

Ok So i am no wood worker however if you turned the adjuster screw once and not three time you would take of less and planed to the centre of the wood you might not suffer from blower out wood … maybe… or am I wrong sir ? Also if you used a second peace of wood you might not have to fight to keep the router plane …

had been looking at thsi and was in two minds, but does look OK. Would take out the majority of the waste with a chisel and then set your router plane to the required finihsed depth and just use it to tidy up.

Thanks for the review. Are you still using this sander ? What i missed is the balance of the machine. Does it tilt to the left (drive side) when loosely holding it in the middle of the handles in the air ? And how is the front to back balance, rear heavy ?

I bought a cordless Katsu a year ago complete with base and inserts, etc cost over £120 used it a few times probably 6 or 7 before the motor just burnt out smoking etc, total JUNK..... had to buy a proper Makita this time corded and what a difference - it works ......

Looks very similar to my Rigid saw. The Bosch aluminium router table (RA1181), might bolt right on the end perfectly like mine.

Actually the couple of "niggles" you mentioned are prevalent on the Makita original.

This is the most useless heap of junk ever manufactured in any power tool factory in the world ever. Completely not fit for purpose. Leaves more dust everywhere than a pole sander without vacuum actually. Would. The switch is unbearably bad for regular use. Its heavy as lead....and im no weakling. It leaves a bad finish....and the hose will leave a bag of dust when you disconnect it from shop vac. Utterly uselss....and the only ones saying otherwise are guys like this who are paid to say good things. Avoid paying the daft price to buy this scrap....it will not make your job any easier. Any tradesman ive givenit to to try out has given it back saying they hated it. I would feel too guilty to sell it to anyone else.

Lidl are excellent when it comes to replacing or refunding for their tools. No nonsense , but it's seldom enough that one would be changing them.

Hi mate, what did you decide in the end regarding setup - im working out of a 10x8ft workshop and thinking of adding this instead of dewalt jobste and adding a router into the table etc but not sure on space :(

Good vid! But, a real test would be to do the 45 degree cuts with a 5 cuts type of test. That will give you 4X angle resolution

Omg I’ve just sent one if these back What has happened to hitachi , this is cheapo Chinese junk , I only spun the motor up once , it was so harsh and noisy with so much play in the bearings the blade began shaking and oscillating . It was only £160 so I guess you get what pay for , shame because it’s such a neat package .

Dave mate, when you insert the second bolt, it guides it into the hole underneath making it the same distance for repeatabilty everytime. Good luck pal.
