As someone who is disabled, this convention was a nightmare. Disabled lines were being trampled, people were *pushing* and shoving wheelchair users, and security was even telling regular attendees to "just get a disability sticker" to skip the normal lines. They were being misled and belittled by security, taken to the wrong places with no accessibility. It was hell for disabled attendees.

The worst part of this to me was watching Cuptoast's VOD on their experience at twitchcon. Hearing about how scared she was, that people were waiting inside her hotel lobby despite not having rooms to try to meet her and her friends, that she felt unsafe, that some people saw her without the box on inside the hotel and guessed her identity then tried to ask her to play uno with them, all of that was horrifying. Streamers shouldn't have to be "on" for 3 days straight, she should have been able to go to the hotel and rest, but some fucking weirdos were always waiting there.
edit: didn't know i'd have to explain this but please dont follow children to their hotels?? that's super creepy??? it's not about uno, it's about the fact that these weirdos were waiting for a kid outside a hotel for who knows how long. it's about the breech in privacy.

Something that happened to a friend of mine who went to Twitch Con: She's hard of hearing. And when there's a big crowd, like at a convention, it's hard to hear everything. There were moments when staff was trying to say things, and when she asked them to repeat them to her because of her disability, the staff straight-up rolled their eyes at her, as though she's at fault for not hearing it properly the first time. And there were issues with people in wheelchairs as well. Overall, disabled people were treated poorly at this convention.

A faceless streamer named Crumb Cuptoast was forced to take their box head off for "security reasons" despite not being notified of the fact beforehand. They also got her pronouns wrong with Aimsey by the way. There was also one fan who stole Georgenotfound's water bottle. Disabled people were tramped on and Wheelchair users were pushed and shoved. TwitchCon Amsterdam was absolutely nothing like this. It was run incredibly well and everyone was very well behaved. Their accessibility team was also great. Two of my friends that I was there with were disabled and all of their needs were met (there was one instance where a staff member tried to ask my friend who is prone to fainting to stand up from where they were sitting down but the minute his supervisor saw what was going on she rushed over to tell the guy off and told my friend to sit back down). Really wished you touched more on the horrible accessibility accommodations. People were seriously affected by it, and it’s often a topic that is not acknowledged by people who are not disabled. There was a lot about it in the thread you referenced abt everything wrong with twitch con if I recall correctly. It’s especially important as a large part of the Minecraft fan base (a fair amount of the attendees) have formed a community that is full of neurodiverse, disabled people, and for twitch to not provide those proper accommodations is a huge oversight on their end
edit: also wanted to add that this is not to say the rest of what you touched on isn't true. In fact, I think a lot of it is extremely relevant and needs to be addressed. I know you are not a spokesperson for this subject in particular, and might not necessarily have the knowledge to speak on it in more depth, but I still would have liked to see more focus on it in the video, even if only through the lens of actual disabled people's experiences (as linked to in the thread)

The cons I've gone to has a no bag rule for the rave, a quick pat down and a guard standing at the water cooler. Sometimes a metal wand and they'll make you put your items on the table but usually you just get a pat down and then enter.
It's not like you need a bag for a rave... They don't sell drinks they just have free unlimited water. If you want more food and water then you can leave and get back in line. It moves pretty quickly after the first hour. It's a convention, not a concert.

And they try to actively weed out security staff who don't demonstrate that they actually understood and want to apply the information in the training material written by committees made up of people from affected communities. They aren't perfect, but it's a good sight better than hiring people the day before. Like, have some standards, Twitch! I have 2 rods and 8 screws that were implanted to support my spine after my injury and it sounds like she had to have a similar procedure to stabilize and support her spine. The reason for just a blanket ban of all backpacks is due to (well lack of proper) security. People can easily hide weapons in it. And instead of having a proper security check, theyll just go the easy way of banning them outright.
Similarly, food, drinks, medication... Technically speaking these could be used to poison or drug someone. Which puts others at risk.
Essentially, Security vs Accessibility. Which Again, I wish big events actually did proper security checks not only for safety but so accessibility would be better.

i've _bonked_ my tailbone before, did it twice in two years when i was 12 and 13 respectively, the first time breaking my arm in half in the fall the second time very minor, but when you hit your tailbone like that it is legitimately one of the worst human experiences. your head swims, your vision blacks out, you're dizzy, experiencing severe vertigo, when I broke my arm with the pain as well i passed out multiple times, i distinctly remember _ringing in my ears_ so loud i was sobbing to a teacher to make it stop. 6 years later i still vividly remember that feeling, like your entire head is throbbing and you don't know where you are or whats happening.

I was there about 10 people back from the front of the line all three days. (For those who were there, I was the person handing out the Cancer Support ribbons, nearly 1000 over the course of the Con.) The first group arrived about 4:30am, I was there by 5:30am every day. Friday was absolutely terrible from a line management perspective. Saturday was better, and Sunday was even better.
Friday they let us in at 8am and most of us wanted to line up to see Ranboo, Sapnap, GeorgeNotFound, or Karl so we went up the stairs to line up outside the Meet & Greet area. We did not jump any barriers, but went straight to where we wanted to be and waited in a long orderly line outside the meet and greet area. They did not direct us to the central badge pickup area, and I don't even think those doors were open yet.
At about 8:30, someone came and said that we couldn't be there yet, and we had to leave and go downstairs. Instead of leading the early morning line (in order) to the front of the other line, they made us go behind people who had arrived at the Con hours after we did. We were about 2 twists back in the rope drop area. When the rope dropped at 9am, we made our way quickly back to the meet and greet lines, but we were so far back that I was nearly last in line to see Ranboo, and the others who were hoping to see Sapnap and George (those lines were combined into one) didn't get to see them at all, despite lining up at 4:30am.
Friday's Dream SMP panel lines were a nightmare. After seeing Ranboo, I went to get in that line. People were lined up in an orderly fashion against the windows. I knew I'd be too far back to get into that little room, but I wanted to be in line anyway, on the off chance they took the whole line into a larger room.
Periodically, a woman with a clipboard would come by and say, "The line doesn't start until 1pm. There is no line. We'll just start the line with whomever is milling about at 1pm." I tried to have a conversation with her and explain that there was in fact a line, and she insisted that there was no line and she wanted people to disperse. I told her there was no place else they'd rather go, and that by denying the line she was turning the panel entry from "First come, first served" to "random mob chosen by Con staff" and she just repeated that there is no line. When she finally said, "Ok, now you can get in line" people rushed forward from the corridor, and that's when things started to get dangerous from a stampede perspective (keep in mind, many of these people had already waited in line 4+ hours to see content creators and were denied).
In the end, the people who had waited in line from the morning to get into that panel didn't get into the room, because the woman running it wanted to have her power trip about "this is not the line." It felt like she saw each person as the same as any other, not as individuals.
They did learn, and Saturday was MUCH MUCH better. Still not perfect, but on Saturday at least they had "The line for this room starts here" and "The line for this room ends here" signs, much like ComicCon, but without the ropes and multiple lines for the different panel start times. (At ComicCon they clear the rooms between panels, not so Twitch Con.) They were a little slow to form the 11am Meet & Greet line, and didn't tell us immediately where to go, so despite being nearly first in the morning, I picked the wrong place to wait initially and wound up about 100 people back in the meet and greet line. That was still close enough to get to meet Philza, luckily for me. They still had problems with people running to get to the lines, essentially negating the order of the early line up, but at least they didn't have the unsafe crowding conditions of Friday.
Sunday was better yet. They luckily realized that they'd have a problem with the Aimsey/Hannah/Cup/Nikki panel, which was in another incredibly small room, and this time, they came by and handed out green wristbands to the folks waiting in the outdoor line, so we couldn't get passed if security stopped us or if we didn't run fast enough.
So, Twitch did learn. Things did improve.
Most early morning people Sunday morning were planning to go straight to Twitch Rivals though, to be sure to get in to see George, Sapnap, Punz, and Foolish (among others) at 2:30pm Sunday. They waited in the arena all day for that show to save their seats. It turns out that it was possible to get a seat quite close to the start of that show. It also turns out that it was really hard to see anything that was going on from the ground at Twitch Rivals, and the big screen never showed GNF & Sapnap. The event started 45 minutes late and the announcer never even announced their entrance into the area. The announcer said the words Punz & Foolish once, and the crowd went wild, so he figured out that there was a cheering section for them, and then kept doing it, ignoring the other teams, including GNF and Sapnap, who I believe would have had an even bigger reaction. I'd have to go back and watch the VOD, but it was painfully sad from an on-the-floor experience, especially because I knew some people had been waiting since before 5:30am to be in that room.
Hopefully those people were close enough to the front to see what was going on with their eyes, because the big screen cameras were never on anything interesting, and weren't even on the people that the host was talking about. The host would describe things that we couldn't see were happening. I felt bad because people kept leaving. I started out 10 rows back, and had a 2nd row seat by the time I, too, decided to leave and check out the expo floor before it closed. The charades event was good, because we could see one team at a time and the commentary made sense, but the part prior to that was poorly produced, and I didn't stick around to see what happened after. I tried to explain to the woman with a clipboard that the reason the host couldn't get the audience hyped was because he was highlighting the wrong teams, and that GNF and Sapnap should get more camera time, and she told me that the fire martial wouldn't let them move the camera. That made no sense to me, as occasionally the camera would pan past them.
