while Adin is a hypocrite (especially cuz he reupped Hasan's stream in the past), his claim over Hasan's video would almost definitely win in court, even Hasan's friend Ethan who has a LOT of experience with fair use said as much. Ive also seen some copyright lawyers review very similar cases, and in all instances Hasan would have an abysmal time and near impossible odds to claim any kind of joint authorship or fair use.

@@greed864 Can you cite those lawyer reviews? Everything I've read about who legally owns the recording of a Zoom call indicates the opposite of what you're saying. Adin also gave up on all of his strike attempts right after Hasan threatened to take it to court, despite Adin himself barking loudly on his streams about not being scared. It is more than likely it was his "undefeated" legal team that ducked Hasan for one reason or another.

I know that was a thing on CZcams (because of the dreaded "three strikes, you're out" rule), but I didn't know the copyright matches were automatized (that makes it really easy to make claims left and right). That's really an issue when those matches either aren't accurate (like the ones you showed) or when they would fall under fair use. Also, kinda disappointed that CGP Grey almost screwed over your whole channel, and I'm sorry for that (I've watched some of their videos, and thought they were pretty good/interesting).
He explicitly says that he's fine with cgp grey striking him, and that it wasn't fair use. It makes sense for large creators to ask other creators if their content is okay to react to

I think context does need to be considered for how much of an audience is actually being taken away from the original content by the reactors audience, hence why I specify larger content creators. I suppose an argument can be made that there should be no exceptions because growing one's audience on reaction content will enable the reactor to say that they've always just reacted for their content, and their audience wouldn't want to watch anything else (as if they aren't already watching other content by watching reaction compilations)
@@zebragoboom I just think strikes are too heavy a penalty (those were two strikes, and three are basically a death penalty). He's probably being diplomatic when he says he was fine with it (also, it's easier to say that now, considering the channel is not at risk anymore). I imagine that if CGP Grey had contacted him directly, he'd probably have just removed the relevant content, and the issue would have been resolved without putting his whole livelihood in jeopardy. I don't think it would be too much to expect that kind of courtesy, especially when this is something Ludwig himself does (6:39).
the copyright system is bullshit but I get it when CGP Grey strikes people cuz he and his team spends months to years on one single video and having someone who can react to a youtube vid and then publish it in 30 minutes making so much off of it would with no effort would sting, not defending him just that I can understand why

If any of the videos he striked went to court, any half decent lawyer would win a slam dunk fair use case, therefore his strikes from a legal perspective are valid. From a moral perspective again its on the creators to reach out, and him issuing striked makes it less likely people will react to his content in a non transformative way without his consent.
