About the Carlos situation being too heavy of consequences, apparently Carlos had been pushing the limits a little too much for a long time and after several warnings this was the last straw for riot, so they blacklisted him. When the G2 organisation was made aware of this they decided on having him step down. This was said on a Spanish podcast, I forgot the name but it should be easy to find.

The whole thing with the G2 story and Carlos stepping down was less about the direct criticism of partying with Andrew Tate and rather, the legal obligation for a company to appease their shareholders and make sure they are happy (I know that's not the legit legal wording, but companies do hold legal obligations towards shareholders). Carlos caused a $10m liability to the company and as such, it was in the best interest of the shareholders for the board of directors to force Carlos to step down, they now see his inclusion as detrimental to the success of the company. That's the consequences of partying with an absolute plague on society, and that's the way business goes. The capitalism machine keeps churning

It's just high school drama shit. Codemiko wanted to get in on drama farming when it was mostly over by then and give her 2 cents. Emiru didn't appreciate one of Miko's takes about her and Emiru flew off the handle.
This kind of this could resolve itself if the two had a direct one on one chat when shit dies down. It was a real nothing burger on both their parts.

I disagree about removal being extreme for the CEO in the first drama story. IN the gaming space everyone should feel safe and having a CEO who runs groups you may go against openly supporting Andrew tate can make you feel very uncomfortable, because what does that say about their views and who they hire on

Emiru doesn't have anything to do with the drama directly, but she lives with Mizkif. People were speculating OTK was making her stay quiet. She was kinda forced to stream and make some kind of statement.
It'd be very strange if she continued streaming like nothing happened. People would have questions because she lives in the house with Mizkif and CrazySlick. She had to say something.
Of course, she had nothing to add to the story. It happened way before she became a member of OTK, and it's not like an organization spills all its secrets to you when you join. She was aware something happened, but took the explanation the public was given at the time.
So she had nothing to add to that story. The only thing she could comment on was how she was doing.
I think it was crappy how everyone was trying to analyze her stream and say she was faking it. She wasn't involved in the drama, but it was directly affecting her life. Of course she'd be upset learning her friends were monsters/creepers. I like xQc, but he was absolutely shitty about it.
As for the CodeMiko thing, Emiru is relatively young, so maybe she's a little naive. I know some people keep work strictly for work and don't make friends at work. And some people like having friends at work; it makes the work experience more enjoyable. I'd say CodeMiko is in the former camp and Emiru is in the latter camp. CodeMiko is like 7 years older than Emiru is and it's usually older workers who keep work strictly work.
Emiru seemed genuinely upset to me. It'd be very embarrassing to just bawl out of control on stream and I don't think she wanted that. A key point she made that everyone seemed to ignore was that she was upset that CrazySlick was given a second chance when he should not have been.
I can agree with that, but that makes the Mizkif part worse because he was the one providing that second chance. Emiru seemed to have a hard time reconciling that part.
Brother, Emiru is 26 let's not act like she's some inexperienced teenager. Not only that but she has been in the industry for 6 years while Miko has only been streaming for 2.
She knows how this shit works. Miz knows how this shit works. LSF clippers are now talking about Code Miko.

Honestly, my issue with the Twitch drama as a woman is that ALL THE TIME abuse allegations are downplayed by people in the content creator industry yet zero people with any actual reach or platform talk about it (except in cases like this, where it was initially Trainreck mentioning it for self-serving reasons imo). The size of this story is the exception, not the rule, and I don't think you'll see similar issues within the space get addressed seriously anytime soon. One case for example that always bothered me was Wubby downplaying the abuse Sabrina faced by another content creator (Gus Johnson). Wubby did so in an extremely gross fashion on stream, yet people still treat him like he's never hurt a soul whilst also in the same breath condemning Miz. I love MoistCritical, I think he's great, but it did hurt to see him cooking with Wubby whilst also condemning Miz within the same week. I know Charlie likely doesn't know about what Wubby did or the extent, and I don't blame him for not knowing something, but it does perfectly convey my overall point. These stories conveying the frequency of issues like this do not get picked up in most day-to-day examples, and most people just simply don't know. It's great to care about the abuse Adrianah faced and to want to do something to make it so she can get the support she wasn't given when it happened. However, is the standard we're going to set that we only start caring about abuse and protecting abusers when a male streamer mentions it? Prior to then, it was just something only a few people care about? I just dislike that dynamic intensely. It feels like the takeaway that 'abuse is a consistent problem and not an isolated incident' is lost on most people. I hope this energy to hold such people accountable is maintained not for drama’s sake but so abuse victims have an easier time dealing with it when it involves people within the public eye and more importantly *being believed.* As for the example referenced involving Wubby, there's a Nickisnotgreen video (a friend of Sabrina and former friend of Gus) that does an excellent job covering Wubby downplaying the abuse Sabrina faced, i'd recommend it as the entire thing is too long to get into in this already long comment and there's no way I can convey how serious this topic is and how this very much isn't an isolated incident with just words.

Ludwig I know you usually do alot of research on the topics you talk about but I'm surprised you completely missed the mark with one statement in this vid.
Emiru has something to do with the drama because some people/viewers expected her to leave otk due to what happened but according to her she escaped some form of abuse or stalkers by moving into the otk house where she felt safe for the first time in her life but as it turned out one of the friends she made was a creep living just under the same roof as her. She talked to him about very sensitive struggles she's dealt with (even ones similar to what slick was accused of) and he always reacted with empathy hiding who he really was. I agree that many if not most streamers involved in the drama or not are milking it for clout/views but emiru is absolutely not one of them.
I was surprised he didn't mention that but he *possibly* could've meant not directly involved in the incident like Slick, Miz, Maya, and Mitch. She wasn't pt of OTK during that time and may or may not have a biased view of the situation due to being close to Miz. Not invalidating how Miz helped her out throughout her career and personal life but it would be better for her as a noninvolved member of the case to not comment on someone's innocent/guilt until the investigation is over. Emi lashing out in Miko's chat when Miko is just speculating/commenting on Emi's behavior on her stream wasn't a great move but I also get it bc Emi is under emotional distress abt the whole thing

Exactly. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way, what Lud said. Shouldn't matter if he "made them who they are" or whatever. If the CEO is willing to associate with a horrible misogynist (and potential sex trafficker), then I feel like that could affect the rest of the company and possibly create a bad workplace culture, like with Blizzard. I think G2 made the right call, and I don't think a hypothetical future where they're not top 5 should be what makes them throw away morals and safety.
You find that weird? What's weird is how he criticized the CEO way harder than Miz and Maya who werent just associated but who had a hand in downplay. Lud and QT turn me off for saying nothing about it (even joking about it) but being the most vocal preachers about meToo stuff.
If I knew my boss was an Andrew Tate fan/supporter, I would not feel safe around him and would be concerned for anyone working under him. "Oh no, they'll make less money!" Who cares about some big companies profits if it means giving power to some misogynistic asshole?
Personally, I don’t hold people accountable for who they hang out with. I don’t think someone should lose a position for hanging out with someone. If it turns out that they are a terrible person, then of course fire them, but it’s just odd. I live by the philosophy to not judge people except by what they’ve done to me because I find myself happier when I don’t hold people to societal status. Now yes, there is a huge difference between sex trafficking and being a normal jerk, but I still think it’s weird for firing the ceo for that.
Yeah, it's not just about "feeling" safe & heard, having someone like that at the top of a company actually impacts culture in the e-sports industry and who gets to be a professional player. If Carlos *really* cared about the future of G2 he would have known why it was harmful. I think sometimes Ludwig may not notice how male certain spaces are and some reasons why that could be. Something you can laugh off to one person is a potential threat to another. But I appreciate him being honest about it because some people wouldn't say that publicly, and it is good to know someone's history before the newsworthy moment.
