A few products from this review were sent to me by Banggood for testing. This does not mean that I do get all my products. I review also a lot of products I bought myself. I started these reviews because from my experience not every tool from China was worth buying. So I wanted to make in-depth reviews to show you which products you should consider and which product you better leave alone. The fact that Banggood sent me products occasionally does not change the way I make my reviews.
I still give in-depth reviews and give you my honest opinion! On this, you can count on! I have a good experience with Banggood.com and they have a lot of woodworking tools nicely organized on their site.

I really love your channel, I’m not wealthy, and finding high quality low cost tools can be difficult. Thanks for the fantastic videos
Clear and informative Dennis - thank you!
Danke Dennis! Noch ein frohes neues Jahr und bleib gesund 👍
Great review! Love your channel. Extremely informative, fair, and well balanced. Thank you Dennis for the way you make your videos and the info your getting out there.
The film-like quality of your videos is outstanding! Thank you.
Dennis, great review as usually. Thanks for your great work.
I'm always looking forward to your videos. Keep up the fantastic work.
Amazing review! Thank you so much for taking your time with doing all the research for the rest of us.
Another great review Dennis, your attention to detail is on Another level.
Another Great review Dennis, Clear and informative as always , nice one, thank you ;)
Great job Dennis! Keep up the good work, sir!
Just another Good Bang from Dennis! Great as usual. Always learning. Tnx
Another excellent video, thanks Dennis!
Awesome review! Thanks for putting this together.
Hello mate, I purchased the one you recommended on episode 11 & love it, it will last me for my woodworking life 🍻👍👍👍
Like the video and the miter gauge. Here's to a new year and more reviews.
if I owned a company you would be the man I want reviewing my products amazing job always fun to watch
The high quality you're addressing is evident in your videos! Very impressed! Well done! Thanks so much!
Bedankt Dennis! Top zoals altijd!
Always interesting and educational videos, thank you.
Excellent review of this mitre gauge and the one in Episode 11. Both look excellent and I probably will buy one of them later this year! Thanks Dennis
Thanks Dennis, great review. 👍
Love this series. Keep it up!
Ziet er weer goed uit Dennis, dank voor je uitgebreide review
Fantastic review. Very detailed. Thank you
Honest and well presented review,as always. Not a lot of money for that kind of quality. You are the best reviewer I have watched, and trust you
Excellent start to the year Dennis. Another informative review. Many Thanks 😊
Thanks Mike, good to hear from you again in 2021
Happy new year Dennis! Very nice review. Thank you!
Tanks Norbert. Same for you!
Thanks for this review! It reflects exactly the same experience I made with this gauge. I bought short before Christmas last year (for just 90 Euros!), and I'm still impressed by the quality. It's like a red line through all products made by Hongdui (I have the other ones, too). So, thanks again and keep healthy!

Looks good, nice to see you in 2021.
The “Wood Whisperer” did an in-depth review of miter gauges well known brands including JessEm and Harvey. From what I can see, the Hongdui is up at the top especially when considering the price even without a fence. Great Job Dennis!
I enjoy your reviews...also enjoy your projects..
Like that Video. All the best for 2021 !
The level of evaluation on these tools is impeccable. Thanks for your work. Now subscribed.
Thanks Robert, Glad to have you on board.
I am in the market for a quality miter gauge. I will now have to watch episode 11 to decide on which one I will purchase. As always, thank you so much for what you do. You make my purchase decisions extremely easy.
Dude,, I just discovered your channel, your Awesome.. love your Review Style and the china tools episodes are really helpful for someone on a Budget,,👌👌👌
❤️ you’re reviews great work 👍
Outstanding channel! Super informative! You've inspired me to get back to woodworking. Keep the video coming!
wow, Richard, thanks for your comments. Feels good to read! Dennis
@@HookedonWood You're welcome, sir. I spend at least 4hrs a day/7 days a week (wife hates it) researching tool review videos... and yours are, by far, the best online. They're consistent in quality, and you do follow-ups to previous reviews... a great display of integrity. Keep it up!
It is so good to see this level of quality being made on a range of tools from china. Nothing stops this apart from customers willing to pay and manufacturers realising that the quality is worth the extra effort.
I really appreciate your videos.
As a Land Surveyor, I found the discussion of cumulative error in the 6-sided figure is interesting. Systematic error is cumulative (bad gauge setting), but random error (wobbly gauge) tends to compenensate for itself over many measurements. The +/- errors balance out, especially with more measurements. We experience this while surveying traverses around closed parcels and are trained to eliminate systematic error by reversing setups, taking multiple measurements, or finally removing the error mathmatically from the measurements because it can be well understood after a few observations. Reducing the dataset (or workpieces) to those only containing small random errors should be the outcome. In a woodworking practice these principles may be applied by flipping parts, alternating left and right cuts, and so on. Repeatability can be a liability in some cases.
I understand what you mean. And when you want attach something to each other straight. This flip over thing will work. But in case of a miter I do not think this will work.
That was EXCELLENT
Thank You !
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Dennis! Good to have you back in 2021! Many thanks for yet another thorough review. I’m not too much in need of a miter gauge but this video makes me look for an opportunity to get one! Keep up the good work,
__Frank
Awesome review Denis, I just started to look for a miter gauge for this very purpose... so I’ll be buying on your review! Thank you 🙏
Lucky guy😀 😃
At the moment you have 428 thumbs up and only 1 thumbs down. That is practically unheard of. Congratulations, you deserve your high degree of approval.
THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER OUTSTANDING VIDEO
Excellent review, thank you. I bought it after watching your video on the Banggood page and I have zero regrets. I've paired the deluxe flip stop with it and it's great, though I may end up swapping out the stop for a smaller one, as you need a fence around 7 inches longer than the length you need to cut, due to its size. Not idea, but the accuracy is very high. Cheers
Loved this review and product so much I bought it. Keep up the good work.
I think you will be very Happy with ti. I love it!
An excellent review mate. Hongdui seem to be making the effort not to be rubbish. That works for me.
Great review. Part of me wishes I had seen it before I purchased my Harvey MG. But, by the time I put a fence and micro adjustable stop block on it, it would have been close to the same price. (I got it at a big discount). So, only a small buyer's remorse. Thanks for the great reviews.
Thanks Dennis.
A review on a cheap chinese lift to integrate a standard router in a table ????
As usual, well done thank you,
Dennis, as usual thank you for your well thought out review. I did order this miter gauge from Banggood and I am very pleased with it as per your review. You mentioned you were looking for a "matching" fence. Have you found one that you recommend from Banggood or elsewhere? Thanks. By the way I have ordered several other items from Banggood in the past year and find that your reviews match with my impressions. Thanks again for all of these reviews.
Thank you for the information
Another quality video and a fair review. I had an Incra 1000SE with my old table saw. It was a nice product with some glaring issues. If I still had that saw, I'd be on Banggood right now ordering a replacement.
I think you will like it. Thanks
Great review, greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹
I love the cyclops lens.
I have bought this one for 65$ on sale. I think this is the best product for this price
Great video Dennis. I'm beginning to wonder if Rutlands in the UK are watching you - I keep seeing products you have reviewed here popping up on their website with their branding on. I wonder if this will be next!
Great video
Dennis, ik vind het donders mooi!
12 sided mitres are good for segmented wood turning, although you can build a jig with scraps to do that.
I was shocked when I looked at the Harvey miter gauge a month ago and it didn't have stops for every angle. I just assumed that high-end ones would!
Dennis, Happy Née Year! I have been anxiously awaiting this vid, ever since seeing you Instagram post. I have a Shopsmith Mark V and the stock Shopsmith miter gauge is the exception to the garbage stock miter gauge rule, but for extreme accuracy it does require the use of a tool like the MiterSet. This one looks very interesting and it makes me wonder if I could retrofit the Shopsmith pistol grip hold down. I doubt it, but it is an interesting thought. Here’s hoping that you make 2021 your best year ever! Scott
I think it will be a challenge to get this shopsmith pistol on it. The shop smith miter gauges are smaller. No, I think it is too challenging.
Thanks Scott, you also all the best this year!
I really apprectiate the thought and consideration put into your reviews. It is easy to see that you do NOT take the opportunity to give your opinions and recommendations lightly. It means a lot to me, as I have limited money for tools. I hope tool manufacturers are paying attention and learning that they need to earn customers hard earned money.
Thank you for all the hard work you do and for sharing it with us.
I recommended the bangood miter gauge to my brother based on your review. He's quite happy with his purchase!
Hi Mark, Good to hear your brother is happy. I still believe it is a fantastic product.
not in my league product, but like usual your review is top class and I learn so much, keep it up
good information thanks
Bedankt Dennis!
Thanks David. Your welcome!
Wow, I really enjoyed this episode. As always a great video. Thank you Dennis.
Thanks for your great video about this product. Can you advise a fence already to combine with this miter gauge?
Dennis - just found your channel, and wanted to say thank you for the care and enthusiasm that you put in producing these videos.
Minor note: your English is excellent - not just in terms of fluency, but the technical terms as well, however CZcams thinks it's Dutch... so the subtitles are unusable. I think you should be able to set the language to English and let YT re-create the subtitles!
Thanks. The last two episodes I have with good subtitles. I figure out the best way. Tanks for your comment.
Thank you very much 🥰
Great review Dennis! Nice and detailed (as always). When I have my new workbench ready, I'll definitely check this one out! Thanks! A couple of videos ago you talked about a new shop build. Will this become a reality? And will you be documenting the thought and building process?
Hi Nils, yes, that will be a reality. I am looking at ways how to make a serie to inform those who like it, in this process. Maybe on CZcams, ore instagram. How would you like it to see? what would you like to know about this proces? You would help me with some input.
@@HookedonWood I'm thinking build-progress videos of the building itself, old vs new layout or design choices. Things you will do differently because you have the chance to do it right for the purpose made building?
Maybe a video in Sketchup (or whatever) explaining the new layout of your new shop and your thought process behind it? Could be the viewers have fresh input or tips on how you can improve your design.
Thanks Dennis... appreciate your work. And I am looking forward to seeing your thoughts on a fence for this top mitre setup. I have a Woodfast 2600 sliding panel saw which of course has the larger slot for a mitre guage on the slider. I think I saw a comment by you about checking out the larger format. Would love to be able to adapt this particular device because of its accuracy or find that there is a bar that I could retrofit. Best wishes from Australia, Phillip
I have a fence currently, but although it works, it is not as special as this miter gauge. So, I want to see if there is a more innovative one. I will give a review on a short notice.
Very nice videos peter, instant fan. I was wondering if you also review tools from aliexpress. They have some really interesting hand planes that have an interestiglng price
Hey Hooked, I just discovered you, I wish you could be a bit more thorough… kidding brother. You are among the very best, DO NOT change a thing, keep it up, I’m on board my man.
Great review. What fence did u use on your video with this miter?
Another awesome vid and very informative as usual. Thanks again for this series Denis. I wanted to follow up on the fence, if you had come across anything worthwhile in the meantime, and also get your impressions regarding this one vs. the "New" from ep.11 and if there is any concrete reason to go with this one instead of the cheaper New, aside from aesthetics. Thanks again and keep up the good work. Congrats on the 100k subscribers btw :)
This one has more fix stops. The WNEW is hard to set on specific angles where there is no fix stop. But, I like to work with the WNEW as well. It is lightweight, but sturdy and looks also nice. I heard Hongdui comes with a telescope fence soon. I have an alternative but I find it a bit expansive. I want to wait for the Hooguit fence to make a review on the Fence.
@@HookedonWood Awsome, thanks so much for taking the time to answer. Hongdui definetley seems like the way to go. Let's hope they release it soon and send one to you imediately :) I can't wait to see your review. Thanks again Denis, take care.
Great review! I do believe your review nails it that this is likely the best that money can buy, and at a cheaper price than others. In my case though, I’m going to go with that incra clone, the one that you have been using. It’s a lot cheaper, is very accurate (other reviews say same) and I don’t ever see myself needing to cut one degree resolution angles that also need to be super accurate. If I do, I’ll spring for this one. Also, one could reference up any needed angle with gauge blocks like you showed. So for the budge conscious, like me, I’ll go with the cheaper one, at least for now. But thanks for letting us know about this!
The Jessem locks by tightening the handle. The issue with having a tooth lock arises if the teeth break, damaged, or machined incorrectly. By going with a friction lock, they eliminate these issues.
Hi, I bought this Hongdui miter gague. Thanks to your review. Can you recommend any fence for this?
Keep up the great work :)
Dennis I received this table saw miter gauge today, it looks like guy jewelry and it was bang right out of the box, I bought because of your review, now we just need the fence to go with it.
I heard hangdui will come with a telescope fence soon!
Another great review. I love your channel content. Would you mind sharing a link for your precision angle gauge set?
www.feinewerkzeuge.de/poly-gauge.html it is from veritas.
@@HookedonWood thanks very much.
Excellent video again Dennis! Thank you. Ps you made a small typo in the hongdui brand name in de description. Its states Hooguit instead of Hongdui when referring to the banggood link.
thanks, I change it after your comment. Again, thanks
Very nice!
BTW, your English is very good!
Dennis....what fences are you using on the mitre gauges? I didn't see the links to them.
That was a very interesting, comprehensive and convincing review. I have been looking for a decent mitre gauge for some while, so have now just ordered one at a very good price of £111 from Banggood. Have you found a fence yet that you can recommend to go with it?
Maybe nice if you some day do some reviews about the new SKIL 20v series.
Brilliant well balanced presentation as always. As the Mitre gauge that came with my Laguna Fusion 3 is not very good I'll consider this one. I'll have to ad around 40euro's extra in DK VAT and tax fee's... Hope the planning of your new shop i progressing well :) Stay safe!
I expert the drawings in two weeks and then It is waiting for the permission (do not know if the is the right word for it)
@@HookedonWood Must be exiting - building permissions are required in most countries in the EU I expect :) Looking forward to more great videos and maybe yo'll tell about your plans also :)?
Always appreciate your opinion Dennis = ) Hope that you and yours are safe and well, have a good 2021 ! MfG
Thanks John, Nice to hear from you again! And of course alle te best for you too
@@HookedonWood More than welcome Dennis, you put so much effort into the videos and reviews that they are an extension of your work and workshop excellence. Do you follow JSK Kobou ? Different from what you do but he has the same high standards.
Hi Dennis and thanks for the review, you also made a hexagon with the NEW miter gauge in ep11 but it didn’t seem nearly as seamless as in this one - are the 30 degrees angles as accurate with the NEW as this one? Was it a calibration problem?
Dennis, did you manage to find a suitable fence for this Miter Gauge? Planning to buy one but would like to get a fence with it.
I was on the fence with this one due to the cost for me, $230 Canadian, but the other mitre gauges from China weren't going to cut it for me so after watching this video and having this gauge tick all the boxes I went ahead and got it, just waiting for it to ship.
Looking forward to hear what you think about it. thanks Dennis
Colm Rafferty
Brilliant review. I really enjoy your reviews and have already purchased 4 items from Banggood on your recommendations.
Can I ask you... is the mitre runner easily removable? I have a bosch table saw with a narrow mitre slot of 16.4mm. So I would need to replace the runner.
Thanks
Only 19mm bar? Nice improvement, provide smaller one.
Thanks for the review.
Hongdui now has a fence for this.
It would be cool if u could do a review.
Thanks.
Yep, it is on its way to me :-)
Hi Dennis, Do you have a recommendation for a good bandsaw mitre gauge?
Great comparison of multiple products and detailed test. Could you recommend some fence for those miter gauges?
Preferably with some combinations of stop blocks, tapes, various lengths .. so far I haven't found one, but to be honest I still have a bit of an issue to orient myself properly in all those various t-track sizes and labels. I thought I made it but then ordered a bit smaller tracks then needed. But hey, they'll come handy one day. Till then, they'll rest in material reserves.
I agree, I plan to make a big T-track an accessoires video. I am discussing this with Banggood on the moment.
@@HookedonWood Great. I does not necessarily mean that those tracks need to be all banggood, Incra you use as well also makes those and I guess there is more makers. They are supposed to be a bit standardized, I think. As those are on big industrial machines as well as on hobby tools like router tables, portable table saws. I thought about making that, but I have no plans to build anything like my channel and being youtuber, and your channel is already quite good and popular so impact and reach to those who might use this content to learn something new would be significantly better/wider.
