Just gotta relax and have fun, be loose and flow. The joy in your laughter when you crossed those big water holes is what it's all about. Good to see you having fun man.
Now that looked like a fun ride 😁👍 Cheers Scratch!
Yes I stand up to on my bike because it does feel less squirrelly and at times that's what we need to do and yeah good thing to do. Great video again
Thank you Dolly!
Wow! That's awesome that you mentioned us. Thank you for the card & stickers. Looking forward to meeting you, when you come up this way. Awesome vid.
Thanks Dalton! Looking forward to it!
Good job & example on the puddle inspection
You guys are great!
As always...well done Jim!
Thanks ET!
Wow that was some DEEP water! I need some fancy boots and slacks like you've got.
Don't forget the swag!
Another great video! Really picked up the sound of the water when you went through it. Have to admit, was a tiny bit surprised (and delighted) that you went for it. Could hear Clinton Smout in my head saying, "Let me show you how."
Man I love that guy Mike!
Good one . Nice looking trails. Keep those revs up ! Cheers mate.
Thanks Rod!
@@ScratchBabble ps. Forgot to say that I hope you are feeling better after the spill . Cheers brother.
Thanks Rod I'm 100% now!
The armature is looking like a pro lol. Great video brother. Ride safe.
I'm trying really hard! Lol
Nice, that looked fun. My buddy with the KLR and I just rode up and over a mountain and through some similar puddles while testing out his new TKC-80s. Tires and tire pressure make a big difference.
Tire pressure! I keep forgetting that. Although I checked the day I had the new tires put on and the "sport bike shop" had them aired ip to 40 lol!
Every time I watch you test the water, I catch myself saying 'do it, do it, do it!' Specially after your boot is already wet. ;-) Great video, always fun.
Yeah I'm ready to take the training wheels off now!
15t is calling your name, good video.
I'm really considering that
Wetlands riding! Looks fun! Amphibious KLR! The two wheeled green frog!
And works like a charm 😎
I got me some shinkos too! They definitely do the trick 😁
Nice riding Scratch. Hope you like the 804/805 combo. I love mine and will buy again.
I think I will Fred. Going to shake them down good next weekend...
Well done sir
Thanks brother
Just signed up! Love the channel it's KilLeR! I will have a KLR650 one day hopefully soon.
Welcome and thank you! I promise you won't regret buying the KLR. A lot of non KLR guys spend a lot of time telling you what it isn't. But it's "what it is" that make sit so special! If I answer any questions please don't hesitate to ask or drop me a line at Scratchbabble@gmail.com! 👍
Great video!!! Makes me want to find some local trail and hit them.
Do it! Don't wait Gus!
Great ride Scratch. Keep riding and the body response will be automatic at obstacles (sand). Tires make a totally different ride.... Keep up on two!
I know that's true! Just need to get out regularly
Don't feel bad scratch I dumped my 2018 KLR at thirteen miles trying to turn too fast on grass lost the front wheel and took a trip through the air. It's the nature of the beast just get up and keep riding. It just sucks picking the bike up. I'm 51 so I'm not sure I want something so heavy I'll see how much I fall this year in NY
Yeah I like the new dry bag setup better then the box you used to have. Yeah I got the Shinko's too, much better off road.
It was just a matter of time before I replaced the box off road. I'm really happy with the bag and the capacity
Standing up, squeeze knees to tank or seat move weight back. Hover over rear brake and practice using it, not front. I have 16T and I think we both would do better in the sand with a 15T
FUN!!!
It definitely was!
G'day Scratch,
Great to see your enjoying your new found traction and handling off road with your new tires and it sounds like you've worked out how to ride sand and other loose stuff without crushing your handlebars in your hands ! so I'm thinking next years Dakar Race could be in the mix ? lol Anyway enjoy the Trail Riding ....Oh ! sorry they call it Adventure Riding now ! silly me , old habits die hard ! Seventies Trail Bike Rider AND STILL ENJOYING IT !
I'm so jealous you've had all that time to ride! Better late than never I guess! Dakar is old news. I'm going to race the TAT lol
If nothing else, at least you look the part lol keep it up 👍
My poser game is on point!
Nice trails except for the water. I live in northwest Arkansas. Rocks, uphill rocks, downhill rocks, big and small rocks. ROCKS
We ride a lot in sand here. You need to lock your lower body to the bike so grip with your legs either sitting our standing then guide the bars not grip them. The bars will move around but thats the bike looking for traction. Its fun once you get it. Enjoy.
That's exactly what I'm working on!
Great idea for using the fanny pack!
I was looking for a bag to chunk my GoPro gear in but I've been wanting a cup holder. 2 birds one stone!
The best 50/50 is Dunlop trail mission, metzeler karoo 3 or Sahara, continental contitrail tkc80 and Pirelli STR👌🏻💪🏻
Last year My son and I rode about 1400 miles of the TAT from Ark to Ouray, CO. I dropped my Klr about 5 times in the sand crossing Oklahoma. I think it is better to go over the handle bars at 40mph from a sitting position than standing, it seemed like the impact and the amount of sand you consume is a lot less if you are sitting.
Oh my God lol....
Standing lowers the center of gravity, always best to stand when the ground is uneven for you. Sit down going into corners.
We're all amateurs to begin. And anyone can ride on the street; it takes a lot more skill to ride off-road. Glad you recovered from your mishap. Subbed.
Greatly appreciated and well said
darn it...I thought you were gonna bunny hop that tree!
Only in my dreams Ron!
What do you think of the 705's? I do mainly highway riding so got those instead. Have you gotten heavy duty tubes as well?
Sweet vid. Man you have a radio host voice for sure!
Funny story he is a radio host 😆
@@roughneckadv5720 no way! 😂
Wait. Who? 😎
And Thanks John!
“Holy Shitballs” 🤣🤣
My favorite saying 😜
I'm right with you Scratch I am so green at offroad riding it isn't funny lol. Nothing feels right yet standing or sitting. I think I will end up putting some bar risers on. When I do stand up my controls feel vague and far away.
Ditto! I have 1.5 inch risers but I think I need 2 and a different design. I have the Eagle Mike risers but I need something more adjustable
Somewhere in Canada Mason is laughing about y’all walking through the mudholes. Mason goes through or skis over the top but never walks through lol..good vid..👍🏻
So true! It's all relative right lol 😜👊
Scratch Babble all kidding aside your doing great with riding friend keep the KLR vids coming..✌🏻
Will do Joseph thanks so much for your support!
Ha, walking through is a great idea! I just never seem to have time lol! I have done the stick depth test before in some very green water that looked a bit sketchy ;) Cheers guys!
Bar risers will be a great help and they don't need to be the big money ones to perform. That big water hole is where viral videos are made and bikes are terminated. I would not have gone for it either.
Some other day maybe but that day was already a little shake!
If you're gonna be a cheap ass, don't do it in the steering department. Buy good, quality, TRUSTED components.
I bought a set that "looked great", but 1 fall later, busted like the proverbial piece of shit I paid for.
Standing on pegs lowers your center of gravity. You can actually herd the pig using your legs
Picking out lines is 1/2 the Fun...
True! When your right it's satisfying. When you're wrong it's instructional!
804/805 are awesome for the price in arkansas you can still date your sister and have hub caps on your house
Just a few things. 1) It's a motorcycle, not a boat. 2) It's off road, not off shore. 3) Those are Shinko's, not Sink-o's. =) Yer doin' GREAT Scratch! I'm very impressed
"Sinkos" lol BGD
Adventure means Adventure so next time just throttle open and ride the waves😉
Jim. Why the conspicuous absence of #klrdilusionals? Noticed the same on Ron & Masons Sunday vlogs. Curious...
Hmmmm.... An oversight for sure. I'll correct that!
I've got $5 that says you'll be ripping it up by the end of this season. Just keep at it.
I hope you're right because if not I'm going to be VERY disappointed lol! Thanks TD
@@ScratchBabble its all about practice, like anything else in life.
Dont you dare wash that motorcycle! You wash it in puddles and mud holes! Nice riding and way to build confidence. Dont wait too long until you go back out and ride.
Oh no. The only time the bike gets washed is at the beginning of the season after the oil change!
@@ScratchBabble too many maintenance works vids done on unwashed bikes ! No no no ! Wash then work , surely ? Cheers brother. 🤪
adrenaline..............Now!! @8:10
Uhmmm. Left of the tree?
How do you feel about the Shinkos after the ride?
Very short review is I like them. Really don't have enough Miles on them. I expect they will be great off road. On road a tad louder and a tad more vibey thank the 705 but corner great and pretty good in the wet so far
@@ScratchBabble Excellent to here. Tires will elevate your confidence levels. I went from Harleys to my ZZR1200 and it had OEM tires on it at first. I switched to premium tires with amazing grip and suddenly corners were mine to own.
Oil & tires get a bad wrap on internet forums but there is a reason they are so prevalent, they change everything for performance and reliability.
Seems like you've found a set to get you to where you'd like to go.
Like the new tires?
D going to shake them down good soon and then do a full review
@@ScratchBabble look forward to it.
Look up MotoTrek on youtube. He is riding a bigger bike. But most of what he is taking about goes with the KLR also.
Oh he's awesome! Have you seen the one where he's climbing and balancing all over his bike? I'd kill for that kind of balance!
@@ScratchBabble We have to remember that on the BMW. All of its weigh is down low its not top heavy like the KLR is. So in a way if we had GS's we could have that kind of balance :-P
@@DanteFox that's true I hadn't thought about that
I get a kick hearing you laugh like a kid learning to ride the sand, keep at it. Going to check out the Outdoor bag, looks like the perfect size for a GroPro/cable/etc. When you get tired of riding flat ground, come to Missouri and do some hill country riding, some of the best riding in the U.S.
Robbie i wound live3 to be able to take you up on that! I need to figure that out. And yes the bag is great. And relatively reasonably priced. Going to review that as well as the tires. When I'm just road riding I strap the fanny pack to the tank bad and then I have the drinks right there 😎🍻
You cross so much water those motorcycles are part Swamp boat.
Water is a blast!
Are you boots and gear waterproof?
Boots and jacket were. Pants were mesh. From here on in I'll be in all mesh and if it rains I'll enjoy getting wet!
@@ScratchBabble If it is hot & humid, you're better off getting wet, then drying out between showers in the South. I've been clammy in waterproofs down there, then went mesh and that was the way to go.
Oh yeah all mesh from now til the end of October!
@@ScratchBabble The only way to ride Summer in the tropics!
@@pinkiewerewolf amen brother
Hey Scratch do you remember what size and brand tubes you ran with the big blocks ?
Mitch I'll see if I can find the receipt. I know they are heavy duty but that's all I know off the top of my head.
Love you brother but I could have done without the visual of you in exercise tights... just sayin....great video...
Liar! Lucky for you I'm sending you a photo with my new sticker...
What not Im not... oh well maybe a little where did you email it?
You are way too cautious and scared. This may not be for you. By the way, I thought you were going to review the tires?
From the standpoint of someone way too cautious and scared I did 😘
No offense but you guys are not meant for off road riding.
Helpful.
Riding bikes, drowning feet, having a good time? wtf kind of off roading are you doin?
And why exactly do you say that? Because some people actually enjoy slowing down enough to take a look around? It's not up to you to tell people what they should or shouldn't be doing. Perhaps you should not be posting any comments.
