In this video Jen reviews the ride on the new set of tires and she is overwhelmingly stoked with them! So if you're having trouble deciding on your next set of tires for your Royal Enfield Himalayan or other motorcycle, have a look at this video. Cheers!

Just discovered your channel. Great content! You did exceptionally well on that dirt track with those new tyres. It's amazing to see the bike did not let you down even once. The engine didn't lose any steam. (Pardon my english). Loved the video. By the way in India we pronounce CEAT as 'see at'. I am going to watch your other Himalayan videos now. 👍

I love the review. I just bought a set for my 22 Royal Enfield Himalayan. I have the Tusk medium bags on mine too. Not the panier type. I subscribed and liked the video. Great reviews

Recently changed tyres on my Himalayan Scram and like yourself I am enjoying the extra traction off road. I have been told the squeaky brakes can be fixed by applying a thin smeer of grease to the back of the brake pads. Hope this helps. Cheers

Glad you liked the tires, I had a feeling those would work best for you. In the mud be careful of lateral movements. The tires are great for what they are but the linear treads can slip sideways in muddy.

Hi there, I also have a Himi, currently with CEAT tyres (Indian brand std. with the bike). Currently have done about 2700 kms and the tyres are showing little or no wear.
I was very interested to see you chose Shinko tyres back and front as I've been thinking about them for mine. I look forward to hearing how you get on with them.
It's great to hear your confidence grow...

Jen, great analytical coverage of your purchase choice. Your original tire had a sidewall profile height of 108 mm. Your new one is 104 mm. Lower, as you pointed out, than stock, by less than 1/5 of an inch.

I've run a couple sets of Shinko 244 and 705s in the last 18 months on my REH. I was new to motorcycling when I first put those nobbies on and fell in love with the 705s. Price point is amazing for the Shinkos - I've been reluctant to mount the 800s thinking they're mostly for dirt and not so much slab. Like to know how these hold up for you.

CEAT pronounced "See-8". Mine lasted me 12k kms down to bare minimum grip on the XL, but did plenty of off roading. The ceat Grip XL are made of single soft compound hence cheaper and low lifespan. The CEAT Grip X3 has dual compound soft/medium. Great for wet and dry conditions, on and off road.

  • @MikesProjectsandHobbiesMC

Another great video. I was gonna go with the 804/805 combo but went with Mitas E07s. Maybe next time. I ended up pulling the CEATs at 800 miles. Three flats in 800 miles was enough to prove to me that they were too soft and the chords patter in the carcass obviously was way to spread out (typical of cheaply made tires). Yeah the airing down thing has gotten out of hand. We only did this back in the day with dirt bikes with tubes and rim locks. Now for some reason we have folks doing it on 600lb adventure bikes with tubeless tires. LOL. If a bike doesn’t have rim locks I don’t air down. Never have never will. :-)

Im happy with them. I had worried the bike wouldn't feel as smooth on the asphalt but it is still smooth riding. I have been more confident riding in sharp rocks now and have noticed the back end doesn't kick out as much in the dirt as it used to. I still haven't really tested them a lot in the mud and am a little worried about the tread orientation in that situation but I'll make a video when I do. Congrats on your bike, you'll love it.
