Lupin Vivian understands first hand the rewards of not being “normal” and owning it. A diagnosis of Schizophrenia as a young teen sent her to institutions away from family, school and her home of Guernsey in the British Islands. When she returned, Lupin was confronted with marginalization from her peers and struggled with shame around her illness. Once she realized she could not disguise who she was, she embraced it, and this journey is what eventually brought Lupin to her greatest freedom. Today, she is a personal style wizard with an amazing partner, a college degree in theology and english and a master of understanding what matters in life is not anything external. What matters is caring for yourself, so that you can in turn care for others. To see more of Lupin, check out her instagram @lupin.vivian.

I really admire her. A lot of people with schizophrenia give up on meds and therapy. She stuck it out and is making herself #1 and taking care of herself!

I grew up with a parent who suffered from schizo-affective most of my life. I witnessed and grieved his experience being shamed, abandoned, all the ravages of the medications over time and chronic hospitalizations, and wasn’t free from my own under the darkness and fear of dealing with his psychosis.
I think when you experience psych wards with such familiarity you understand a world and part of humanity that scares so many people. It’s a kind of primal fear.
I am so happy to see Lupin’s story and what I always wished for my dad-individuals living free, managing their lives with others - showing it’s possible to have stability and love and support.
This is one of the most beautiful interviews that gave me insight into what my dad was experiencing, including the incredible depth of compassion for others that I have always found in people struggling with these issues.
Lupin’s lovely spirit is needed in this world.
    thank you for this story.

I'm on the Board of a Orphanage. I take girls in when they age out of the home. One of my girls was doing so well and finally starting her first real job. She told me she remembered her past abuse and the following week was displaying some strange behaviour. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Thank you for sharing Lupin's story. I would like to know what medication she is taking if possible. My girl struggles with the weight gain. It really bothers her.

This is a truly and profound interview. Lupin is such a beautiful, vibrant and brave being, so much wisdom and understanding in such a young age after experiencing so much pain and trauma. A true alchemist of life. Words are failing to express my deep appreciation for her to be truly authentic into the world wide web and for your platform to find out human gem!
I know you are experiencing with a new format and new techniques so I would like to share my feed back, I found the early part of the interview editing very challenging to watch, maybe there is a way to make it simpler. It can be discouraging for sensitive people, Lupin light keeps me holding on...
A side note: Lupin is one of my favourite flower that is blossoming in an explosion of colours right now...
Thank you so much for your beautiful and dedicated work! in gratitude and joy

Amazing interview once again. I trully love your platform. Thank you.

  • @christinaheesakacowden-wut3809

I think we all have to learn to "understand" our fellow human beings not through the use of our brains, but by using our hearts and feelings. That is a universal language everyone can relate to on a devine level, which is the source of each and every one of us. You guys are doing a great job of spreading love and connectedness with your work. Huggs from Germany, Christina

Wonderful that u came out of the experience more empathetic. Some people just become grumpypusses. And u all are right that there is still shame in feeling human. We should be allowed to feel things and express them as they come so we don't get even more messed up. Thankyou!
Awesome partner, clothes and metaphor =]

Wow this video is so relatable. Towards the end I started crying. It's so difficult to not feel like you're only a bad person. like I know that I have amazing qualities and I'm really kind and compassionate. But it's so hard to hold on to those things when I have to struggle with my mental health and believing that my true self is disgusting and that people will grimace at the site of the real me. But watching this video was cemented that it's not true. Thank you for doing this interview!

I have been watching so many of your episodes and have fallen in love with humanity again. I thought that I was non judgmental but found out that I have been conditioned to slot people into stereotypes without realizing it. This channel is beautiful and everyone I have watched are just beautiful in so many ways. I've had so many epiphanies about myself and how I see myself and my body. How I see people. I asked my 15 yr old son to watch some episodes too . And also shared it with so many women who I know. Because every person I have watched has made me realize how much we all have in common, in different degrees and how vital it is to discover people without any preconceived opinions. Thank you

My darling, you indeed are not alone! You have our heavenly Creator Jehovah God. Unfortunately you have fallen prey to one of many illnesses we've inherited from the original sin committed by Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Satan the devil, the opposer of Jehovah (the One true God), made sin
Imminent in all humankind. Believe in Jehovah God's
son Jesus Christ who died for all men, so that we may gain life forever here on earth! You my darling, will have the opportunity to live without the mental illness that you presently experience. Continue to take your medication, talk to those willing to hear, pray to your heavenly Creator and use His name (found in the holy scriptures at Psalms 83:18). Read the "Lord's prayer at Matthew 6:9-14 and relish in the comfort provided by our heavenly father. I wish you well, and may you find "the truth" you seek in the holy writings.
