    Nice job on the spraying in the cold. I remember Doing that in San Francisco in the high thirties and warming my paint up and it fogging up after I sprayed until the temperatures matched. Using retarder/slow reducer at that temperature it's kind of ballsy but still gives it a chance to flow out and give you a smoother smoother finish. Once again nice job

      Thanks for you comment. I didn’t use retarder because I was really just experimenting on this job. But yeah you’re right about using it in cold weather. I would have definitely used in colder temperature for sure. Once again thanks.

      This would be the case for a traditional air compressed system. Because the air from a turbine is a little warmer, the slow reducer is more advantages to use. I always use slow or extra slow reducer with my fuji turbine. I can't think of a situation to use a medium or fast reducer with a turbine.

    I have a MiniMite 4 Platinum and used a 1.3 mm for base and clear. I couldn't get good atomization and couldn't figure out what was going on. After speaking to others, they said that the Fuji Spray likes smaller tip sizes. This solved the issues. Here's what I found that finally worked - Assuming your guns are very clean.
    Base Coat - 1.0 mm - Even coats - 2 total for most colors.
    Clear Coat - .8mm. - 3 Coats with the first being a dust coat. Don't try to cover the part in the 1st coat. Just get it started not covering completely. Next 2 coats heavier and heavier without runs.
    This got me a very very flat result. Absolutely gorgeous! The Fuji Spray is very nice but if you don't get the right tip size small enough....it can be really frustrating and waste a lot of product. I had to re-sand and start over on my first panels I painted with the base coat. Changing to a 1.0 mm for Base fixed my issue. The Clear even smaller to .8 mm.
    Is this your experience?

      Good comment on your experience. I always use a 1.3 for base and 1.0 for clear. But I have also used .8 mm for clear as well. And yes you are right it’s a lot finer therefore it will require that 3 coat. But what about the feed nob. How many turns on the nob when applying clear.?
      I think that is also a good information to know for those that are trying for the first time.

    • @StageShout
      @StageShout Před 2 lety

      @@quickfinishsolution2483 The Feed knob I set at wide open....with a 1 to 1 1/2 turns more.
      The tip size was the key as the feed certainly needs adjusting but you couldn't do anything with the wrong tip Size. Any adjustment to the gun was useless with the wrong tip size.

      I’m so sorry about the last comment i wrote. I meant the FAN PATTERN I keep wide open, and the feed nob 1 1/2 to 2 turns

    Wow very nice work!! Looks fantastic. Have you painted a whole car with the fuji yet? I have one and am wanting to repaint my entire truck. I’ve only done bumpers and quarters but not large projects. I worry about the heat of the unit getting to hot and changing the way the paint lays down….

      I have painted an entire car. Honda civic to b specific. It came out great. And I would encourage you to just go ahead and paint anything you have to paint with this system. I have done big panels on the side of a Sprinter Van. And you know those are big panels. I had no issues with it. So, just keep painting away.

      And by the way I did paint during this hot summer that we had. All I did was just thin my clear by 5% and it came out flawless. Hope that helps you.

      Very soon I’ll be repainting a Mini Cooper. So stay tune for that.

      Thanks for the comment. Always had used slow hardener and reducer. I think if it gets bellow 1-2 and over degrees I would definitely change to a faster one.

    Hi when's the next video bud. Also are you using 1mm for clear and 1.3 for basecoat . Do you like better than conventional compressor and gun if so why. Keep in coming 🙋

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey there,
      Thanks for the comment. I have a 2003 Mini Cooper that I have to paint soon.
      So stay tuned for that one. Also, I do use 1.3 for base coat and 1.0 for clear coats.
      I like the turbine system for the simple reason that it’s a lot more convenient to use since I don’t have to worry about water in the line, and I also find it to be more efficient for the small parts that I’m working with. Nevertheless, I have painted a complete car with it, and it turned out just fine. So, in my opinion I don’t think I need to go back to conventional way of spraying again. I’m loving my mini mite 5 it does a fantastic job.

      To answer your question. Yes I do more than just bumper. I haven’t yet post some of the other projects I’m working on. But soon to come will be a variety of different paint work that I’ll be doing.
      So stay tune to see it.

    Nice Job. Last time you were using Matrix clear. Did you use the 1.0mm tip for this spray and how come you didn't use faster hardener since it was so cold even below what was stated on the instruction? For a beginner would you recommend this clear or the matrix or is there something even better? By the way this gives me great confidence to spray some stuff during winter. I know people use auto clear for kitchen cabinet doors so I might try clearing a bookcase instead of using Poly or Laquer. One more question, I bought 125 micron filter caps for the 3m pps system. Will those work or do I have to use 200 micron filters. Thanks again and I look forward to the next video.

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Dusan, I did use the 1.0mm tip. It’s what I always use when I spray clear. As for the hardener, I was just taking my chances by using the slow one. It seemed to work, but I will definitely use a faster one if it was around -4 degrees outside. For a beginner, I would use the matrix until you get really comfortable with it. Once you’re comfortable you can start to use whatever is out there. As for the micron filter, the higher the number to more micron it is, but either one should work. Thank you for continuing to support my channel!

    HAVE YOU SPRAYED SEALER WITH THE GUN YET? AND DO YOU USE THE SAME SETTINGS ON THE GUN WHEN YOU SPRAY CLEAR AS YOU DO WITH BASE COAT?
