  • In this video, I will be showing you how I apply clear coat on a Tesla bumper using a 0.8 tip on the Fuji Mini Mite 5. As always, the part has been prepped and primed with a base and you will be seeing how I spray the first and second coat.
    Equipment Used:
    Fuji Mini Mite 5

    Awesome work. I've been looking into this system and wanted to see someone use the 0.8 tip and this was one of 2 videos in all of CZcams. Thanks

    Wow that came out nice man! Should do more videos with the Fuji system on vehicles. Haven’t really seen many of these, I only have the semi-pro and have seen people accomplish it with the right nozzles.

    Superb video, thanks for sharing. I've just bought the Fuji Semi Pro. I'm hoping to get good results with the standard 1.3 nozzle. I'm just spraying 2 pack colour coat, no clear coat.

    That looks good. I used the semi-pro 2 and only the clear coat came out as overspray. I am sure the mini-mite 5 would do a better job. I will be buying one soon.

      Hey thanks for your comment!
      I’m not sure what amount of psi you get from the semi- pro 2
      Mine gets up to 9psi and that’s how I’m able to get awesome results.

      Hey,
      Thanks for your comment.
      What I use is Matrix MSV-21
      It’s a 4:1 part mixture and it does a fantastic job.

      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh man!
      All I can tell you is that I don’t regret ever having made the switch to Fuji. Is by far the best system I’ve used. I don’t think I’ll go back to the regular set up with a compressor. As long as this system is working for me I’ll stay with it.

    I'm just looking to order either a apollo A7700 gun or the fuji t75. I wasn't sure which is better but, Fuji being in Canada is cheaper and more accessible, specially the tips and caps.
    I wanted to ask you, do you have to clean the gun, and mix new paint/clear after each coat. Or do you mix enough for both coats and just keep it in the gun. Also, if I'm going to order t75 which pps 2.0 cup size do you recommend and which needle/caps should I get. Is 0.8mm 1.3mm and 1.8mm enough for clear/base/primer I'm also going to do a lot of woodworking so I will use the system for that too. I am building a 6 stage turbine system with variable speed control similar to the q5 from fuji but, with 6 stages which I believe is 11.5 psi.
    Is the clear you're working with only one you tried or can I get same results with other brands? Also, are you using slow hardener and does the outside temperature affect your finish and the way you mix your clear and hardener? I'm really happy to see you doing this with a turbine and to show us that it's possible. But, there are so many variables to play with and to get right. It's getting cold now but, I hope to paint my white pearl rsx -s in the spring.
    Thank you for the video !

      Thank you for your comment! To answer your questions, no I do not clean the gun after each coat. I mix enough paint to finish the job and the same goes for the clear. I personally only use the 1.3mm for all the base, for the clear I use either 0.8mm or 1.0mm and for the primer I would use the 1.8mm-2.0mm.
      You can get the same results with any clear that you buy, the brand shouldn't affect the job. Also, I am using the slow hardener. If it is below 0 degrees, I would use a medium hardener.
      I wish you all the best on that white pearl you are spraying on the rsx!

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks for your comment. I try to use about 50% always. You could do it at 75% but just make sure you use slow reducer always.

    What tip size did you use for the basecoat?

  • @floridaroadracerguy

    With 9 psi seems to have quite a bit of overspray but not as much as a conventional gun. Would that "Mini Mite" be able to do an overall (a whole car) paint job?

    Does it use more material than a regular paint gun/compressor setup?

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +1

      I would say it uses less then the amount of material as you were to use the conventional way. All because you are using more air pressure.
