    Nice job! I just started using the Q5 for mobile bumper repairs recently. After 24 years I finally found the cure for contaminated air and lack of air. Wish I would have done it long ago! BTW, you don't need the check valve with PPS. Have a great day!

    Imagine if Nikola Tesla or Wright brothers gave up every time someone told them it cant be done, where would we be today.
    That is a beautiful finish my friend, I truly enjoyed watching that, thanks for sharing.
    I am thinking that substrate is much better for wetting and keeping the dust down than plain concrete floor.

    Thanks for posting this. I just started spraying my '76 Corvette with my Fuji Q5.
    Can you state again your gun settings for both base and clear? Fan and fluid (how many turns from closed)?
    Thanks!

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +4

      Thanks for your comment.
      My settings always vary depending on what I’m really spraying. But typically when spraying base coats i use a 1.3 needle set, and I turn the feed nob one full turn. For primers you might want to open it more due to the vicinity of it. When spraying Clear coats I usually use 1.0 or 0.8 at the needle and i turn the feed nob 1 1/2 turn to two full turns. This set up has always worked for me. Hope this helps you. And please do show us the results of your project when finished. Cheers!!!

      @@quickfinishsolution2483 Thanks for the info.
      The last few days I've been spraying Eastwood's epoxy primer. I've used my 1.3 tip and did not reduce the epoxy.
      I got a really good finish and almost no orange peel when I sprayed with the fan almost wide open and the fluid 1.5-2 turns open.
      However, if I try to spray with the fluid wide open, I get large droplets and orange peel.
      Is the fuji capable of spraying any materials with the fluid set wide open? Or, do you need to keep the fluid closed down to ensure proper atomization?
      The epoxy is the only thing I've sprayed so far. Next will be 2k urethane primer, but I'm nervous about how that will spray.

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před rokem +1

      If you are getting large droplets, then you need to thin your material more. But make sure you leave your fan pattern all the way open. Do a test before you actually spray your part and go as you think your spray is consistent.

    Did you get any orange peel? You didn’t mention if you did a cut and buff on it. Just curious since I’m about to pull the trigger on buying this Fuji system.

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 2 lety +6

      No I did not get any orange peel. This is the highlight of using this equipment. If you know how to use it you shouldn’t get any orange peel. Nevertheless you do have to occasionally buff it due to some dirt here and there. But on this project I did not have to.

    Are you having problems with leaking with your Fuji and stock cup or PPS converter system? I had a lot of issues with small drips throughout. everything new, new liners, etc. The stock cup lip is pretty minimal for locking. but the PPS 2.0 with adapter system leaked just as bad from cup lid. I've basically covered with plastic wrap and tape to stop ruining my hoods and roofs. I'm noticing you're using the stock cup hose with the PPS cup? any reasons why? thanks

    • @quickfinishsolution2483
      @quickfinishsolution2483  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi there,
      Sorry for the late reply. But I think if your system is leaking is because it’s not fully tightened. Maybe put some Teflon tape on it. That might help. And if you’re talking about your pps cap that locks onto the adapter it maybe because you have the wrong caps for the adapter. Check with your paint provider.
