Hello. I have a mini mite 3 platinum with a t70 gun. I need to paint a new replacement bumper but I have never done this before. I am hearing in the comments you recommend 1.3 tip for primer and base and the 1.0 for clear. Sound right? Also, will the 3 stage system be enough for this job compared to the 5 you have? I am nervous for my first time and I appreciate you answering my questions and any other tips you can provide would be super helpful and appreciated. I enjoy your videos!
Hey thanks for the comment in liking my videos. And yes, 1.3 for primer and base. 1.0 for clear. I never used a stage 3 before. However as long as you get 9 psi at the tip you should be ok. That’s what i get with mine. I would also recommend doing a test pattern with your clear first and see if you’re satisfied with the results. If so i would just carry on with the rest of the project. Hope this helps. Let me know how it turns out.

As long as it has minimum 9psi from your turbine like mine I don’t see why not.

Do you adjust the air valve on the hose or keep it wide open including for primer, base and clear. Hoping for more content! Thank you!
The air valve stays fully open all the time.
For the bumper, did you use an adhesion promoter?
No because this a metal bumper that required epoxy primer.
You do extrem work how may years have you been painting you do not seem to be a average novice

There is fella on CZcams that painted his car black he used the semi pro 2 and got really great results with his clear coat and the semi pro 2 only runs at 5 psi, the mini mite 5 runs at 9.5 psi. These systems are pretty great.....oh and he used the stock cap and needle 1.3
Awesome videos I have a mini mite 4 platinum with the same gun my question is do you think the fluid settings are the same as the mini mite 5? And do you think I can spray my clear with the 1.3 tip that it can with thanks and keep the videos coming!!
Thanks for your comment. The fluid setting will be the same. And yes you can spray clear with 1.3 however in my opinion your set up is a little more finicky. That is why I do it with 1.0 or 0.8.

Wow very nice work!! Looks fantastic. Have you painted a whole car with the fuji yet? I have one and am wanting to repaint my entire truck. I’ve only done bumpers and quarters but not large projects. I worry about the heat of the unit getting to hot and changing the way the paint lays down….
I have painted an entire car. Honda civic to b specific. It came out great. And I would encourage you to just go ahead and paint anything you have to paint with this system. I have done big panels on the side of a Sprinter Van. And you know those are big panels. I had no issues with it. So, just keep painting away.
And by the way I did paint during this hot summer that we had. All I did was just thin my clear by 5% and it came out flawless. Hope that helps you.

How do u achieve to make it lay wet without crazy orangepeel? Running a 4 stage with graci edge 2 plus with .8 needleset and my sealer came out terrible! Idk if its my gun settings or too far away or too close? I believe u mentioned in other comment to crank the air wide open? I believe my machine is pushing 8.5 psi! And Should i shorten my fan too? I just get dry spray and orange peel! Still playing with it on test panel here. Last car i sprayed with it came out great but forgot what settings i had etc .. been some years thanks buddy
Well, My set up it’s always 2 full turns and all the way open on the air. I keep the fan wide open and I try to stay 5-7 inches away from the surface.

How close to do get to the panel when spraying
Are you having problems with leaking with your Fuji and stock cup or PPS converter system? I had a lot of issues with small drips throughout. everything new, new liners, etc. The stock cup lip is pretty minimal for locking. but the PPS 2.0 with adapter system leaked just as bad from cup lid. I've basically covered with plastic wrap and tape to stop ruining my hoods and roofs. I'm noticing you're using the stock cup hose with the PPS cup? any reasons why? thanks

@@suspensefulness got a good deal on a unit off Ebay. I have both the fuji gun and Apollo.
Just bought an Apollo system that was a used unit, but in great shape. It has a digital readout and u can adjust the pressure it puts out. My plan is to replace the compressor and my old guns with the turbine system. The big thing for me is unlimited air, no waiting on my tank to fill, less overspray and its supposed to save on paint. And paint has gotten expensive. I will probably record some footage of the turbine in use and post it in about a month because there are a lot fewer videos painting with turbines. 👍

No you can not.

Can you paint a whole car without it overheating?
Yes you can. I have done it in the past with no issues. As long as you don’t abuse your system for more than 10 minutes. Take some pause in between for about ten minutes or so as you paint and you should be fine.
Beautiful job! Do you use the PPS liners for clear or do you pour it directly into the cup without a liner?
Thanks for your comment. I use the liner always. The outer cup is just to for measuring and to hold the liner.
does the graco 9.5 do such a finish?i'm between the qtech 5 and the graco pro comp 9.5 which one would you advise???

I am trying to do several very similar projects with the Fugi MM5. You discussed BASE coat with 1.4 tip and 3/4-1 full turn. You mentioned you drop down to the .8 tip for clear coat but what are your other settings. And do you leave the valve on the main hose wide open? Thanks again for sharing your skill and knowledge.

As far as orange peel there needs to be a minimum of it since it's not a show car if you're clearing it that's perfect to match the factory paint finish! and you don't even have to wet sand it and polish it's done! only few spots whenever you get a little dirt here and there that's for those who may wonder. Great video enjoyed watching like the rest posted! Keep painting brother! and continue doing what you love that's your passion for laying paint and your calling. every painter who loves painting deep inside is an artist! and every painted car when finished is a peace of art!
Just ordered a t series Fuji spray gun to try with my 5 stage turbine. I'm sure I won't be disapointed.
I love all your videos and you are a great painter. But I wish you would at least spend a minute or two in real time when you are spraying. I would love to see how you pace yourself instead of going i to fast forward. Thanks again.

The first thing you've got to get right with any spraying system is the VISCOSITY. This is the number one thing that makes sure the material lay down flat.
@@frankie21963 Hi. To avoid runs, don't go above 1.2 tip. On the final coat of clear, don't use reducer but heat it to 60-70*C for max protection. Orange peel means too thick. I will look out for the Shelby..!! Good luck.

Hi, I have bought the Mini Mite 5 having seen your videos, I hove had really good results applying 4:1 2k primer (better application than my Devilbis GTI, and very limited overspray) I have struggled on my first attempt to apply 2:1 2k topcoat. I am using the T75 gravity gun with a 1.3 cap set and am considering replacing the cap set with a 1.0 or 0.8, can you advise which would be best please? Your paint work looks fantastic with this system so you opinion would be greatly appreciated.
I would definitely go with 1.0 any less would be too fine. I have done a lot of work where I have to apply primers before doing top coats, and 1.0 cap set always gives me awesome results. Hope this help and please share your experience. Cheers!!!

What tip with the turbine for basecoat and basecoat with metallic, also what tip for the clearcoat, I'm wanting to get this mini-mite 5 and loving your work and videos and needed some insight on the tips. Thanks for your comment. For base coats I use 1.3 regardless whether it’s metallic or not, and for clear coats 1.0. And no I never reduce my clear.
