IMO Switzerland was a really worthy winner. I still preferred Croatia,, but Nemo's performance absolutely blew me away. It's incredible how passionately he sings while running around the stage and spinning around on that giant wheel; all in incredible stability. Switzerland 2025 here we come!
Did anyone notice that Lys Assia was the only person in the history of Eurovision who represented her country four times in just three consecutive years?
Switzerland is very... unpredictable with songs and performances. I feel pretty lukewarm towards most of their efforts... but Tout L'Univers is a Masterpiece of a song.
as a neighbour it's not unpredictable, I can see their identity in every entry and I love that not every country does that. (edit: 2017 is the exception 😅)
In fairness, Switzerland keeps on qualifying since 2019. Luca, Gjon, Marius and Remo are imcredible in their respective years. Hope that next year they send a female artist, vocal group or band like Vanilla Ninja.
I saw somewhere that Swiss delegation hinted that they're going to send a female artist with uplifting song which is not a ballad. I wonder, who could it be?
I hope they send something different-sounding next year. I mean the ballad formula clearly worked for the past 3 years but the songs have just not been living up to Gjon’s Tears since, and there’s gonna be a point where the public will get tired of the sound (I mean you could argue they got sick of it in 2022 with Marinus’ 0 point televote score in the final). Good country generally though, nice to see them go through a bit of a redemption arc since 2019 in terms of qualification, long overdue!
My favourites from Switzerland 1956: she is the original winner, and she’s iconic with Eurovision 1962: he’s very underrated 1965: she’s very pretty, and the song feels very sexy 1972: very great guitar riff and song 1977: very catchy and fun 1980: great song, underappreciated 1986: very beautiful, and deserves to win, so sorry Sandra Kim 1988: she’s an icon, She’s a legend, and this song will be a hit forever (The 90s and 2000’s weren’t a good year for Switzerland) 2009: this is what 2010s indie rock sounds like, this is a super underrated song. 2013: great song from a musically talented family 2014: one of the best songs of the 2010’s, makes me weirdly want to do Riverdance 2016: she is UNDERRATED, it’s a very good song and doesn’t deserve last place 2018: very much my speed in music, fantastic it should’ve make it to the final 2019: the start of a fantastic song streak for Switzerland. It’s a great song. 2020: amazing. Breathtaking Can’t believe it was canceled for the pandemic 2021: gjon’s tears is back with another amazing breathtaking song, I just love him now. 2022: UNDERAPPRECIADITED, this song is very much up my alley sad Boy songs, and it doesn’t get enough love. It’s SO GOOD 2023: you were robbed. This song, this performance everything about it is a freaking masterpiece, the lyrics don’t get me started on the lyrics. the lyrics are piece of poetry, it’s so beautiful. Definitely was amongst my top three.

In 1963 Switzerland was robbed. Anyway, fun fact about the edition of 1963: two Israeli singers took part in the contest 10 years before Israel took part. Avant la lettre.
I have very uncomfortable question for you: Since when Farid the 22nd from Azerbaijan became Vladan's obsession with Ireland from Montenegro? It feels little weird
Switzerland is probably my favourite country in Eurovision. 3 out of my top 5 ESC songs of all time are Swiss and I’ll forever be sad that 2017 didn’t qualify and how low Remo came this year. Watergun became my favourite song from my first listen
with so many lannguage options, Switzerland should in theory, be amongst the best in esc. Maybe the influx of eastern european countries works against them? Idk, then I notice that throughout the contests, Switzerland somehow fails to pinpoint what music is popular and works at the moment. Often Switzerland sends hopelessly outdated songs.

Not to mention Peter, Sue and Marc sent entries in FOUR different languages.
fun fact she's the only eurovision contestant that won and lost at the same time
Remo's performance impressed me and Switzerland was 7th in my top this year so it's a bit painful to watch him finish only 20th.
I forgot his name but there was another country with a similiar song that was the problem
How could "Stones" (2018) not qualify?
