Ukraine had such a huge gap between televoting and the "experts".
Yes, I voted for Ukraine.
But I hated the songs in French.
I'm happy France or Switzerland did not win.
Even though Italy was not my thing, rather them than France.

Italy or Finland had killer songs. They both would have deserved to win. And remember: Finland is in the top 10 without a 12 points from the "experts"

@@cembri6543 yeah but that's just the exception, generally speaking the jury voting makes sense. Like e.g. Switzerland's and France's songs were objectively speaking the hardest to sing/very artistic, but maybe not spectacular/dramatic enough to draw public attention.

The little boy is very popular in Greece and is currently starring in a TV show about a family in 1969 whose story starts when they got their very own TV (it was very uncommon at the time to have a household tv). The premise is set only five years before Greece's entry in Eurovision. So he is a perfect fit for this position

Just before start of Eurovision, I watched the performance of Ukraine again on my phone and what came up as an advertisement? I swear there was a "vote to Malta" ad I couldn't believe my eyes...
Of course two hosts were standing by Malta all the time during vote. They practically didn`t show us Ukraine, only their favorites ...

Moldova still got over 60 points from the televoting while the jury gave them only 53 points, the jury under rated them not over rated 💀
Finland didn't got any 12 points but it always got between 1 and 10 so they were already in top 10 while Moldova barely got points from some countries.
Greece an Cyprus are like: You didn't let us unite so now suffer the eternity of predictable Eurovision votes.

A lot of my fellow Croats speak Italian... it is one of the languages we can choose besides having English as a 1st foreign language. Also since Istria and Dalmatia had big italian influences in the past and we also use italian words in our every day life it is quite natural that a lot of people tend to learn that language.

Yes, a functional jury play their role, like saving France 2009, but I really trust the people of a country more than five people. The televoters values quality too.

EV does not need juries. They did a crime with Finland and Ukraine. They say it's 50/50 but that is not true. How many people are in the juries and how many people vote from the public? So only a fraction of "experts" can defy the will of a huge number of televoters. So think again if you think it's 50/50.
It's a 50/50 the televote is the same thing where all countries gets 1-8, 10 and 12 and all those votes are put together to not waste time and make it more intense

It's absolutely not 50/50, because only the finalist contries public votes were counted not all 39 countries.

The vote of the jury carries a much higher weight than the vote of the public and that is not an equal vote. Imagine around 200 votes (taking 3 people per jury. Take 10 if you want and make it 390 votes) carry the same weight as millions of votes. How can for e.g. 12 pts assigned by 39 juries be the same as 12 pts assigned by maybe thousands of people to one song? Is that fair? Imagine me voting and 10 of your friends voting. Even if I'm only one person my vote gives 12 pts to a country and the vote of 10 people also gives 12 pts. Why? Because I'm an "expert" or "professional". You see the problem?

@Erwin - I might add "the overperfect Swedish organisation" which I find more and more annoying, indeed! Think of the lovely contests in Vienna or Lisbon with their heartfelt organisation and their warm-hearted atmosphere.
Carola‘s appearance wanted it all: the dress, the make-up, the nails, the words (I was, I had ...), the appeal to be thankful, the blessing - that was just camp and far too much. Sometimes less is more, but when it comes to Eurovision it seems to me that the Swedes take it all way too serious!

The juries were really sleeping this year. But I’m not sure if 100% televoting is a great idea either. Everyone is only going to vote for their neighbors.

i mean we always knew that the juries are heavily biased but Gjon‘s Tears deserved every point he got if not even more. Switzerland has been on the lower receiving ends for the past 2 decades with exception of Luca in 2019 so at the very least we can say the 12 points to Switzerland are not biased.
Jury votes make no sense, the purpose of them was to be fair and stop the gifting of votes to nearby countries meanwhile 90% of the points were given to a nextdoor country by the jury. (Or in the case of italy and malta to a very unpopular song for strategic purposes) ridiculous

Meh Italy usually doesn't have a even 12 points safe countries (like Greece and Cyprus). The most usual to have have 12 points or a lot of points from the jury is Albania and Malta (in this year Malta was one of favourites so didn't help Italy so much)

The italian juries are really amongst the few that never vote politically,they gave 12 points to Lithuania. Also the italian televote was all for Ukraine- Italy deserves this victory both for the amazing Maneskin and for the way they approach to Eurovision, bringing talent, charisma, style, and always being honest and real! Mmmh..they gave no points to Switzerland, despite Gjon voice went above any audible thing on that stage, his song was beautiful and his exhibition simply perfect.
