This voting was so stressful, probably the best voting sequence I can remember. Italy with 318 points. France nearly catching them. Ukraine and Finland getting all those well-deserved points. The zeros. Maneskin's reaction. Everything was amazing.
Also, major credit to Eric Van Tjin, the background music composer here. This is the best background scoring the show's ever had.
I was holding my breath so hard when i saw finland as finnish person to go first for a second. It still makes me almost cry how amazing that moment was.

@@ambozz3726 Maneskin was not the bookmaker's favorite at all, nobody tought it could win until the semifinal performance was shown..Only then it went high with the boomakers and still arrived 4th with the jury votes and the winner was in doubt till the last second... Lol This year Loreen was the favourite to win as soon as her paretecipation was announced and it arrived first in the jury vote by 100 miles...Her victory was easly foregone.

The beauty of 2021 is that there were so many fan favorites everyone agreed they were good and could have won, if any of them had indeed won no one would have batted an eye. Iceland winning? Great! France winning? Great! Ukraine winning? Great! And everyone at the top had a very reasonable gap, no double points, no conspiracy...

Televoting results are clear: we don't need to ''Americanize'' Eurovision. No need for new, European Lizzo, new Billie Eilish, rappers from States... Europe is such a diverse place, with so many beautiful languages and cultures, and so many quirky, weird things to offer, which we all grew up with and obviously would love to see more of. That's why top results are all songs sang in their native language, and that explains Ukrainian rise in televoting.

I watch this again and feel the same excitement as when it was live and they said "Italy has received 318 points!" I honestly didn't think they would win during the contest, but this moment was so exciting and was very happy when they actually won :) They are an amazing band! Their faces, Damiano's especially, then Ethan's all shocked, Victoria and Thomas' all excited, it was a great moment!

I'm a Dutch ESC crazy musician and I'd like to say to you, from the bottom of my heart: Congratulazioni!
This year my favourite song wasn't from The Netherlands, but from Italy. Our song was crap this year and I love Italy....been there dozens of times, love the country, the food, the people and the music.
Just checked Maneskins CZcams channel and subscribed. What a great band! Their passion is unparalleled. They are the justified winners! I'm a fan! :-) Evviva l'Italia!

Still..to this very day, October 2022..This eurovision was the BEST..and I STILL tear up seeing Thomas crying and being held by Victoria, Damiano's FACE when he saw the possibility of winning..and Ethan losing his ENTIRE MIND after the result. There will never be a Eurovision to match it..(and I'm Irish so..we got a longstanding but currently forgettable history in the Eurovision). Favourite ESC OF ALL TIME!!+

This is what a real televote from the people looks like. Italy, Ukraine with the most points. True, the four zero points are brutal, but the competition was just so insane this year.
Top 5 were so ffing trash my guy the songs were so bad. UK had the best song and 2nd was spain.

I consider this as a historic moment for Italy, my country: this win - after so many years at Eurovision - has been the “door” to a glorious summer with the Euro 2020 win and the historical gold medals we got at the Olympic games. All this after probably the worst year in Italy’s whole recent history. This video makes me shiver every time… and yeah, also cry a little bit.
2 years later and 10 minutes after watching this year Eurovision, I had to search for this video.
Hope to see one as good as 2021 again, someday
