      You should go see the comments. Sort them by most recent. Every recent one that's in Greek is basically apologising for the jury no giving 12 points😂 Unforgettable, for sure, but for the Greeks it won't be for the reason you think. Especially because Cyprus this year had an objectively pretty good song and the tepevote gave 12 points too Cyprus as always.

      To favour the songs you like? You complain that France and Spain got so little, but they got far less from the public. And quality is subjective. Not sure how a song that comes last with the televote is quality.

I believe that, as this is a music contest first and foremost, the vocal capacity and vocal performance, originality of the composition, it's complexity, the variety of genres and the instrumentation should all be appreciated and ranked high. The general public does not appreciate these things but, as this is a music contest, we need an entitiy who will.
      Edit: Spain was absoulutely quality and every musician and music critic would agree with that. If this contest valued the art of music more, she would've been in the top 5

    In my opinion the jury system is outdated at this point. Why should a handful of people get to dish out half the points for a public event? Sure, maybe there should be some amount of "professional" input to make sure that the quality of the songs still gets judged a little more objectively, but in a televised event with nearly 200 million people watching, shouldn't those people get to have more of a say in who wins? It definitely needs to be changed. I'm not saying it needs to be removed, but definitely reworked, because it's not really fair right now.

      Not only that; the jury representatives also knew, but looked largely low-energy when dishing out 12 points to Sweden, almost as if they were ashamed of what they were doing.
      Compare and contrast that with the beautiful voting sequence in 2017, with most representatives shouting the obvious winner’s name, and some of them even congratulating him personally, speaking in our rather difficult language, etc.
      My take is: the jurors *did* prefer other songs over Sweden’s, but decided to vote en mass for the public’s second favorite to prevent the top one from winning. They actively disliked Käärijä’s entry and constructively voted against it.
      I’m not saying they colluded to do such a thing, but if the criteria for selecting jury members is the same in all countries, it’s also predictable they think in similar ways regarding their own methods. However, some countries broke free from that and were unafraid of giving other songs higher scores.

    • @metalvisionsongcontest7055
      @metalvisionsongcontest7055 Před 11 měsíci +1

      That’s the crucial point. When winning with so many unanimous jury points makes even the singer herself visibly uncomfortable during the voting process, saying that Käärijä should have won isn’t “attacking Loreen”; it’s attacking the juries, and actually defending both of the singers.
      I hope the “favour” the juries tried to do Sweden here doesn’t end up backfiring and tarnishing Loreen’s legacy in the Eurovision community. It’s not her fault that the juries refused to do their job properly, or that she was up against the fan favourite.
      The controversy surrounding “Tattoo” and Mika Newton’s “V plenu” doesn’t help either, I guess. But that might just be something more and more people are becoming aware of in hindsight now, because they want to find something to criticise about the song itself - rather than about the juries as a system.
