      @staingwapo Is that your first explanation for this phenomena? We tend to humanize pets because we want then to be more human, and teaching a dog a human language is humanizing them a lot, so for their brain they think being human is good and being an animal is bad. This is unfortunate because we are also animals, not superior in any means (with the exception of intelligence and abstract thinking) to any other vertebrate.

    Can confirm, the dog they are talking about is named Bunny and she is extremely intelligent. She even uses the buttons to describe her nightmares when she wakes up. The dog 100% understands English and she will invent ways to use the word buttons she has available to describe what she means with the buttons she has available to her. Like when she was describing why her dream made her upset and said she saw a monster but used the button “stranger” and “animal” because she didn’t have the word for monster or anything similar. Bunny is a very interesting case.

      Nope. It's been scientifically proven dogs can't understand sound the way that we do. And they are incapable of being self aware.
      No, this is not me saying dogs are dumb. I love dogs so much. But I also understand them, and know the difference between science and some stupid tik toks. Dogs don't understand language, and are neurologically incapable of knowing wtf the buttons mean. All they know is button = attention

    • @Coledebord2
      @Coledebord2 Před 10 měsíci

      @@TALKINGtac0 You have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about. The amount of genetic variation within the dog species is vastly greater than in humans obviously, that’s why we have teacup Yorkies and Saint Bernards but they’re both dogs. The brains in each breed are different as well and intelligence of each breed varies quite a bit, so no you’re absolutely wrong, there is no absolute proof that no dog on the planet is capable of understanding language. Bunny is already 100% proof that they can(as are other dogs out there) and if you’re in denial about that you need to watch all of Bunny’s videos from beginning to end and you will understand how ignorant your statement actually is. And also who tf cares if their process of thinking is different than humans? That proves nothing in the realm of being able to comprehend language. And you have no clue whether the dog is self aware. I’d like to see you define what parameters must be met in order to be considered self aware. If I didn’t know any better I’d say you might be looking at this thru the lens of religion or some sort of dogma but I could be wrong. Do you subscribe to the idea that only humans can understand language and are self aware? If so I’d also like to introduce you to koko the gorilla.

    • @TALKINGtac0
      @TALKINGtac0 Před 10 měsíci +24

      @Krzysztof Łaguna I did. She doesn't describe anything. The button presses are totally random, except for "who this." Even then, "who" and "this" were extremely close to each other, and right next to the mirror. The dog was just trying to reach the closest buttons. Aside from that one, all the other button presses could be interpreted a million ways. That's the problem with these money-grabbing buttons, they're supposed to be intentionally vague so people can apply their own meaning to the random button presses their pets make. Again, dogs are scientifically incapable of conversation and self-awareness. You can live in this little fantasy world, that's fine. But before you do, do me a favor. I've gone and watch the videos, now you go and read the studies showing that there has never in the history of the world been a dog capable of language or self-awareness.

      @@benjaminqmorrisreally? I have 11 words for my chihuahua, and she uses them very proficiently. It’s never random, and it always makes sense. Some of the things she says are “want play outside mommy” “Ena want play love you “ “want play outside later” “want treat daddy” “Ena want play outside yes mommy” just to name a few. Or, if she asks for a treat, I will say “no” and she challenges me, “yes”, and when I finally say no, she sometimes says “mommy no” or “later”, and yes, she knows the concept of later.
      You can never in a million years tell me dogs don’t understand language and can’t put thoughts together. And for the record, I didn’t teach my dog these buttons, once she learned how to press them, I programmed them, put them down, and she figured it out. At first she pressed them to see what word it was, then she knew that button was this word. She figured all that out herself. I mix up the order on her to make her look for the buttons and she gets it right every time.

    Dogs are so much more intelligent than people think. They analyze us and learn to understand functionalities of a human system and society without anyone needing to tell them.
    I had a shepherd from puppy to she died of age, in those 12 years I barely ever trained her, she was loyal and well behaved to the bone. I told her things a few times and she would get it. It was so effortless to do anything with her, that I would almost forget she was my dog and not the other way around. I could stroll around in peak traffic hours in a city and watch a video with headphones, completely emerged in it. She would stopped me if it was a red light and she would always seek eye contact with the drivers before crossing to make sure the drivers saw us. And she wasn´t trained to do any of that. She just understood traffic safety and that humans control the vehicle without anyone teaching her that. She understood humans so well, she would follow me everywhere and she learned how to interact in with humans in our way. Considering how difficult that is even for humans, dogs are damn good at adapting and learning!
    She would also teach other dogs to do the same so. Later I walked around with 12 shepherds, and people would think I am some type of dog genie. While it was really just my one loyal dog who was the pack leader and the rest just naturally followed. Dog training on easy mode.
