Rick is completely capable of building a self sustaining Dyson sphere inside or outside the microverse to power his car and more, instead he had to make a statement and trick an entire civilization to work for him.
TBH that would be too much work and too much time lol. The point of the "verses" was to speedrun a civilization to the point of industry and then just parasite off it. The dyson sphere is a massive undertaking and then theres the risk of a Zeep eventually discovering it. Or even worse a smaller version of the galactic federation.
It's easier, quicker, and cheaper to just do what they did. Hence why they both did it.
@@pokeman5000 The time it took for that planet to develop sentient life can't take longer than making an AI dedicated into creating and managing a Dyson sphere and giving it a multipurpose drone factory to start with and grow the Dyson sphere on it's own.
@@pokeman5000 I don't think Rick cares about time... He cares about statements, showing he is smarter than everyone around him. He will do anything to prove he is the smartest human/rick.

The problem with the "AI Dyson sphere" is you would still need to craft the machines then program the ai to build it, and then have it constantly scan/transport resources to maintain it/itself. All the while the problems I mentioned earlier may pop up. Murphy's general law also applies to all of the above. All of that is work and Ricks wouldn't do extra work if a far simpler, yet morally dubious, solution is available (I.E SIavery with extra steps)

He actually became friend with the tree people but got so tired of it that he begged Rick and the other guy to bring them back out

I just realized this is one of the first examples as to why rick created the finite curve- i doubt the show runners were thinking that far ahead with their seeming hatred of serialized stories but its interesting to see it as foreshadowing ricks massive insecurities and that other people could be equally as smart as him
And suddenly Ricks body modifications stopped working
pretty sure he was just trying to prove a point, that he was smarter than zeep and able to survive better than him. or something. i dunno.
They only work when it's sorta convenient, and even then, they're usually just some kind of goofy inspector gadget mods instead of actual conventional cybernetics.

Not referring to the batteries, but AAA Roadside Assistance.They offer a service where you call them and they send someone out to get you a tow, jump start, gas, etc.
One irony is that despite rick's gibe about a genius inventor being less useful than a mediocre road assistance company, if he actually had just called them, he wouldn't be in this predicament to begin with.
