    How did your loader workout, the mid-mount loaders i have used had very heavy brackets on the frame mounts . Most made with lighter tube like yours had a subframe from the front to the back axle to distribute the stress. Just wondering how it worked in long-term

    • @DIYdiacsnFarmstead
      @DIYdiacsnFarmstead  Před 3 lety

      From the uprights, there are diagonals going to the front. In the front those are kept in place with a bolt. Once, one of those bolts stripped. Other than that, no problems at all. I got another Video about the loading capacity of the loader. Maybe theres some useful information for you :)

  • @johnbuffum700

    What thickness of steel? Looks like one inch by three inch tubing with quarter inch gussets and tabs. Is that right?

    • @DIYdiacsnFarmstead
      @DIYdiacsnFarmstead  Před 4 lety +1

      The Tubing is 5mm thick, so a little less than 1/4". And it's 10cm x 5cm so about 2" x 4". The gussets are 1cm or about 3/8" thick.
      When saying tabs, you're talking about the pins, which hold the loader arm to the console? They're 25mm or 1"...
      Probably overkill. It can lift about 500kg or around 1100lbs. Before the loader breaks, my tractor will split in half:D

    wow i need one of these, sorry to say it be hard for me to build with out plans there to many type of tractor made,,,,so here the best way to build one,,,, you readied,,, is to make it out of wood , screw, small piece of metal for cleats to hold it in place ,bore ur holes ,,this way i can get my length,, how wide on both side forms need to mount the bucket ,front end loader forks,, hope maybe this will help someone ,,,i can use metal but I will have to build two or more of them to get one right right ,,ok if some one makes one please make video ,,an share with me and people like me that done have the talent to make it without plans

    Hi. Did you use regular mild steel channels for the construction of the arms or steel of a special grade? Thanks

      @@DIYdiacsnFarmstead thanks i have a small kubota which i would like to make/buy a loader for it. Some dealers told me it needs to be tempered or whatever. Do you remember the thickness of the channels? I have access to 3mm or 6mm.

    • @DIYdiacsnFarmstead
      @DIYdiacsnFarmstead  Před 3 lety

      @@josephsaid756 ah nice! Yeah, mine are 5mm thick and probably overkill...better safe than sorry i guess. How much weight do you want to lift? Mine can handle about 650kg (i have another video on that).

    • @DIYdiacsnFarmstead
      @DIYdiacsnFarmstead  Před 3 lety +1

      @@josephsaid756 i can't see any reason why it should be tempered...in case of overload it would break instead of being bent...did they try to sell you a loader? :D
      Building a loader cost me about half of what buying one would have cost me...
      Took me about 2 whole months. Every day after work and all weekend long....but i was completly new to welding an hydraulics and also did i not work from a plan but made what seemed to be the right lenght/thickness or whatever....
      Just start that project! :)

    • @josephsaid756
      @josephsaid756 Před 3 lety

      @@DIYdiacsnFarmstead totally agree with the sales part. I am handy but at this time i am tired of creating stuff (plenty of implements). Just considering a ready made loader. Cost wise i think it might be close to a cheap chinese one. Might take me a good 6 months to finish 😟
