    Very Nice !
Did you build this with plans or just as you went along?
Wish you would have made videos while building it

What is the smaller diameter link on top for?

I don't know if I am thinking about the same thing, but they are the control rods to keep the thing you are lifting level to what you set

Nice build. What thickness of tube and plate did you use for the mast and arm?

Yes, very curious myself what thickness is used

@@cliffwendy3765 I have some 2" square 1/4" thick wall tubing from a free dock with cross pieces that are a little larger, I think 2.25" 1/8" thick wall tubing since fits over the 2" material. Another free dock I removed came with thinner 1/8" thick walled round stock I forget off hand... seems like 2" dia also with 1" dia cross pieces. For $20 I recently picked up a Farmall H front loader minus the bucket and one cylinder though that material is way thicker like 3/8" and most likely will only be for the subframe assembly for the two I plan to put together. I might even cut the tube in half and plate the chassis mating face. I'm planning to put on a beefed up SVT Ford YT16 and a John Deere 240 I'm modifying into a Ford 320 I'm calling er, where one electronic actuated and the other hydraulic actuated respectively. A few days ago for $40 I picked up some ~1/8" thick wall ~2.5" and other random square stock sizes with a little garden tractor gantry that I cut the top off to haul in the car. Thinking I'd rather rebuild the gantry with the 1/4" material or maybe the 3/8" for the masts. Then use the thinner material for the loader arms and maybe the mast... though thinking 1/4" wouldn't be bad for the mast part. I plan to make the backhoe with the 1/4" material. Thinking I might invest in some plate material for gussets if anything looks like is stressing.

The arm tube is 40x80mm with a 3mm wall. The mast is an 8mm steel sheet and the bucket is made from 4mm steel.

@@jonasglobys1672 Thank you for the specs! Seems to align with the size ranges for the material I've been planning to use. Appreciate your support.

Rare to see someone using a tractor properly, people always seem to rev up the engine like its working on max stress on something...

Sure, why damage your own equipment if it can do it without breaking a sweat
