I've actually been looking for a good comfortable chair. I find gaming chairs too stiff and tall, putting too much constant pressure on thighs due to feet barely able to touch the ground. Has anyone here used the protoarc chairs? Or similar office chairs?
Well it was April Fool’s yesterday. I don’t trust the news from yesterday.
but it was already known that AMD is not gonna release high end tier gpu in next gen
Yeah. We've known for about a year, too. It's like they've ran out of news
IMO it kinda sucks, to me it seems lazy on their part, they should keep going instead of just staying behind around the "4070 performance area". We've had 4070/ti/super performance for the last 4 years in the form of the 6800xt. 6950xt, 7800xt, etc.
It was known that they would not compete with the 5090 and the 5080TI at all. but now we might get a competition with the 5070TI at most
@@manmansgotmans well 6xxx series did just fine, 6950xt is competing with 3090ti atm. I think AMD is behind in perfomance in patented chiplet design gpu and they have just started gaining some experience with it. They want to give themselves more time to dive in to high tier gpu, but that's just my assumption.
Their much smaller cut down 43 die will perform as well as their 21/31 die of yester year, that's pretty impressive honestly.
@@resko8758 That's what I am thinking too. In the mean time, they can release a new generation of cards with similar performance to the last and (hopefully) create gpu architecture that is much more efficient and less power consuming than the previous generation. Like the idea of being able to use a 7900 GRE but with 35% to 50% the power draw sounds incredible.
Deleting all of my incognito data? Well there goes my algorhythmic driven video suggestions while in incognito mode... lol how crazy is it that they had to be sued to delete that information.
Youd think the whole point of Incognito was to be incognito. Crazy.
The real question is, do you think they're really gonna delete it?
@@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy Of course they are. But before they do that, theyll make a deal with uncle sam to transfer that data over for a lesser fine.
Nvidia will launch a 5090, and it will cost at least 2000$. There's no reason for them not to, when the 4090 is still selling briskly and next gen will have even less competition.
Never hate the player who successfully plays the game, hate the game. Caveat Emptor.
How are they going to do that when 4090 already almost 2 grands! 5090 will be more then 3 grands! 🤣🤣
@@hawky2k215 What do you mean "how"? Nvidia can set whatever price they want if people are never going to buy the alternatives.
Amd better make 8000 series more energy efficient at the very least. Lord knows that efficiency should be improved if not performance
This! At least the FPS/W ratio.
RX 8000 needs to be lower priced and lower TDP to make sense. And make decent low profile GPUs.
Very true, what is lacking today is a power efficient GPU... while the market might no be big, it´s annoying to need to have bigger and bigger PSUs, to feel the HEAT pumping out on a heavy game (warming the whole room in summer time), and fans going 6000 rpm. Power efficiency would give some builders enough speed, but with a smaller, cooler, more quiet PC.
TRUE! If they release a RX8800, with performance similar to RX7900XT consuming less, it would be enough imo
@@ShunaKagami Yeah, that would be great!
At this point I don't think Nvidia gives a crap about the consumer market, they're all in on AI and deep learning selling out +$40k H200s as fast as they can make them. What's it to them if we don't want to pay $1k for a rehashed 3090? Should give AMD some breathing room to get their stuff up to par but man is it discouraging being stuck under Nvidias boot if you want high performance.
once LLMs became a thing Ngreedia literally NEVER gave a shit. the only other than than LLMs they cared about was Crypto. just to make the money
The fact that Google even spied on users at all while they used Incognito Mode is reprihensible.
Not to be devil’s adequate, but it’s been made abundantly clear that incognito mode doesn’t stop any tracking or data collection.
@@VorexiaI agree, I thought it was pretty clear incognito mode is pretty much "clear history on exit" mode.
How do you think they trained their super AI😅.
Incognito just mean to have no identity. Not that you aren't there at all
Implying they arent spying at you right now
Hiya, RDNA 4 has been leaked by half a dozen leakers for several months now including full specs. They're saying 64CUs/4,096 shaders, clocks around 3,300mhz, TSMC N5, 256bit BUS, 16gb VRAM, and 18gbs GDDR6
Because it's a high clocking relatively small die on an increasingly cheap node, monolithic, and with a relatively old VRAM standard, they could easily afford $500-$600, possibly even as low as $400-$450
TSMC killed this way of thinking years ago when they realised they had a monopoly on advanced nodes. They jacked up pricing of their top nodes so any savings from using a smaller die goes straight into paying premiums to TSMC. It's likely the new smaller GPUs would cost the same as the older bigger ones. It's also likely why Samsung and now Intel have been considerations despite being technically worse fabs.
@@spoots1234 5N is expensive yes, but the die size has everything to do with cost while wafer cost has almost nothing
Even if a 5N wafer is $20,000, a smaller die has higher yields and cheaper costs
And if this card only has 64CUs, and clocks high, die space will be small
Keep in mind they can afford much larger die for the 7900XT for $700
If they could get the 8800xt down to $550 or lower it would be a great buy!
@@hifuncautismboi2350 if that's the case AMD will not using 6nm on 7600. if build on 5nm those navi 33 it will be much smaller. higher yield? yes. cheaper cost? definitely not.
@@hifuncautismboi2350 I don't believe that's the case anymore. TSMC would have likely changed their pricing structure after the chip shortage. They know Apple, AMD and Nvidia can't afford to go to cheaper, less performant fabs. So, jumping to a new node, whilst maybe 30-40% faster, is probably priced mathematically for maybe 15% improvement in performance/$$ or something like that. I think that would safely explain why price/perf of new GPUs also scale so linearly between SKUs, but not much price/perf improvement over last gen.
Happy to stick with my 6800 XT for a few generations.
Yep, looks like I won't be getting a better deal than the one I have for another 3 years (got my 6800xt used for 450€ 1,5 years ago)
This awkwardly makes me feel good about purchasing my 7900xtx about a year ago lol Lisa Su needs to pay closer attention to her radeon guys
Same - I read about AMD not going for high end with 8000 (and while a rumor) I bought 7900 XTX, and will be happy with that for some years to come.
I picked up a Nitro+ XTX last week the moment it dipped to 999 USD. Zero regrets. The wife's rig will get the best of the rumored generation which I'm sure will be more than enough.
She's a brilliant woman. She knows what she's doing. High-end cards cost more to design and to manufacture, and if they're skipping that this gen - like they did with RDNA 1 - it's a strategic decision, not an oversight. And AI / data center might be big factors in the decision, as they can only get but so much silicon from TSMC.
At any rate, my XTX will hold me over until 2030. 🤷🏿♂️
As much as I want the to compete at the high end I think it's a insignificant portion of their market. I think their main market is the RX 7700 XT so they're doublling down there.
@@TheDeliSauce i got my nitro xtx last july and paid a hefty price due to import taxes in my country. But with this move by AMD, I think that purchase will be justified and we’ll be perfectly fine… maybe until radeon 9000series? Who knows! 😅
We knew this from before they literally said the were not going to compete on the High end on the 8000 series, they changed focus to the 9000 series, which will be coming out sooner .
If I were an executive at AMD, I would be doing what they're doing. Nvidia already is showing signs of complacency with them reusing a node when they don't have to. So canceling high-end RDNA4 and focusing R&D on making RDNA5 amazing while also making Nvidia cocky is a big brain move.
re using node is not a new thing for nvidia. they did it with maxwell (28nm). and then turing (12nmFFN is enhance 16nm). now they are doing the same because there are issues with 3nm. nvidia using 5nm for another generation is not complacency. bleeding edge node is useless if it cannot be used effectively on the kind of product you're making. it is the reason why nvidia ditch 20nm and reuse 28nm for maxwell. last year they talk about cuLitho. the 4NP nvidia use for upcoming blackwell is to demonstrate cuLitho effectiveness in real product. also 3nm capacity will be limited for everyone else until apple moves to next major node. this year alone apple already bought 80% of 3nm capacity for themselves.
@arenzricodexd4409 samsung's 8N had terrible yields, yet they still used it. If they felt pressure, they could have gone 4N if not 3.
@@skybuilder23 4N is still 5nm. Nvidia go with samsung because of capacity and price. Even before crypto craze 7nm was in heavy demand. Some company actually have to wait up to 1 year to get their 7nm from TSMC. so nvidia decided to give all 7nm that they can get to A100. in 2021 AMD get the largest volume for 7nm at 27% of capacity. And AMD make everything from those. Nvidia got 21% (second largest) and all of them for A100 only. If nvidia also make 30 series at TSMC they probably end up needing more capacity than even what TSMC can give to AMD. AMD most likely going to use 5nm as well for RDNA 4. 3nm most likely all go to upcoming Zen 5. And AMD will still have to compete the 3nm left over with the big boys like Intel, Mediatek, Qualcomm
@@arenzricodexd4409 but that doesn't disprove my point that Nvidia doesn't feel a need to compete for 3N, which is a wiff of confidence on their end. And a confident Nvidia is the easiest to complete against.
@@skybuilder23 probably not. Because no matter how confident nvidia is they still a bit paranoid. That's why they go all out with 4090. What happen to ampere is they pretty much forced to use samsung if they want to meet demand because 7nm is over crowded at the time. And that's still not counting the effect of crypto later. Given the chance nvidia always did not wait for AMD to catch up. They release 1080Ti before Vega and then proceed with 20 series even AMD RDNA1 did not released a year later. Nvidia using 5nm for another generation most likely because they know 100% RDNA 4 will not going to use 3nm. Remember nvidia have engineer working on permanant basis at TSMC for more than a decade now after the fiasco with 40nm that hit Fermi very hard before. AMD can't keep everything secret from nvidia as long as they fab their GPU at TSMC. Plus 3nm is very expensive. If RDNA 4 only target mid to low end going with the more expensive 3nm is no go. We already heard that AMD want to manufacture their low end GPU at samsung because of cheaper price of samsung nodes.
Normally when AMD has a die shrink it put out a low end card first as a means of breaking stuff in for the higher end card coming later.
Sad AMD won't release highend gpu. Guess I'll switch 5000 series when it releases
Brett I think you edited out the part when you said you are 99% sure you know what sites people went to while in incognito mode ❤
It sounded like you were speaking emoji there at the end. Our return to hieroglyphics is almost complete.
Well tbh, if AMD prices those card good, and the ray tracing is a huge jump, im all for it.
Yep, same here for me, definitely for the price.

Whats funny to me is that some people out there still get shocked when a big tech company turns out to "yes, we actually DO collect all your data we can get". At this point i just accept that there is almost nothing i can do and the best option would be to go completely offline....which i dont wanna.
To be accurate every businesses you have to provide your ID to offline and every online businesses collect your data.
The differences are what they can and will do with those datas depending on the company's size. And how much they can sell your datas if they have a big enough data base on a large enough pool of customers/users.
So yeah, it's useless to try to avoid it. But it still is important to regulate what they do with your datas. And the best impact can only be achieved through big companies lawsuits.
Though I believe MS and Google complied so easily and willingly because they still observe Apple's lawsuit. And the verdict will certainly slightly change big companies to adjust their policies. Either for worse or for better.
They may become bolder or they will shy away for a few decades like MS did after its near dismantling.
Hey Brett! Some word from Southeast Asia, those Gigabyte ICE parts seem to have been advertised on stores even before April so they're likely real, although they might be exclusive so you'll have to import if you want them. This is coming from my friend who also likes to build PC, living in the area. One thing that seems to be a bummer about the ICE white series though is that they didn't seem to make an RTX 4090 Aorus ICE version. It's only for the 4080 and perhaps some of the lower models.
Saw that RX 550 yesterday and thought it was an April Fools joke... but real or fake, it's a joke either way.
Hey Reese. The mouse deal is good but Amazon has it regular prices for $17.99 every day. I would recommend going there.
10:18 SSH takes half a second, which means the response time would be doubled. That half a second would definitely be lost in the multiple minutes that discord takes.
I'm ngl, before the situation with a person, I was a all tech guy. The first thing in the morning wouldn't be talking to her. It would be watching tech videos like yours 😂
Yeah, AMD needs to do MCM GPU dies to go to the high end on the latest nodes. Large monolithic dies just won't hold cost/performance on the cutting edge for them. And they're not at the performance for MCM graphics. So this generation was going to be a known "skip" for the high end. And it usually turns out pretty well for the next generation after. If we remember the 5700XT was the highest end at the RDNA1 and RDNA2 was pretty performant. I think AMD will price appropriately because Battlemage. Nvidia? We're going to be lucky to get consumer cards from them.
But they need to make MCM work with gaming workload first. That's why they go with GCD + 6 MCD route with RX7000 and cancel high end end 8000. if they can't figure this one out then they will go back to monolithic. Just like how they ditch HBM and return to GDDR for memory.
Ah, yes a new gpu that was already dropped driver support wise a year ago.
funny how a backdoor in a experimental linux build makes it all across the internet, while in windows it has had and probably still has some which either where not or took super long to get fixed and actually happens a lot.
on Linux it is much rarer however, so much more interesting than when it happens on windows since people would just get bored of it if every backdoor in windows was reported.
also half a second wait time is super long in linux, on windows people are used to long wait times, but on Linux when a command or for example SSH thing takes over half a second that is actually something people by default see as a sign that something is wrong, since those things should happen faster than the gpu can render a frame on windows.
especially things like ssh and direct commands are supposed to be super fast(or atleast give a clear reason why they are slow like that they are downloading things or such.
even normal softwares are much faster, gimp for example starts up around 100 times faster in Linux since linux generally is better and faster, but also since it supports more modern file systems and because process calls/instruction calls and memory and network management are insane amounts better.
even when only looking at network on Linux to Linux communication you could already have received the package back before a windows compute would have even send the same package(so on linux networking send, server receive, server proces, server send back, sender receive, sender proces is faster, that just trying to only send a package on Linux, this ofcource assumes a LAN schenerio so no extra latency is induced, but on windows getting below a ping of around 5 to 10 ms is as good as impossible even on lan, while in Linux you can't even measure it in ms on lan because it would be to far below 1ms.)
Didnt AMD already state that their next generation GPU would be focused on mid/low tier when they announced that they had to cancel their highend versions due to technical limitations? (or something like that, they had problems figuring out the MCM or something) ... and this was reported last year/early this year.
I too thought I recall hearing they were having issues on their high-end chips due to technical issues. I also heard (whether this is accurate) they were just not going to focus on the high end because of this, but possibly come back to it later once they at least got out the other mid and low-end chips. Then they can tinker to try and get the high end working.
7:26 Thank you for explaining that. Lol
I want AMD SoC CPU with HBM 3 so i dont need ddr5 sticks
I'm surprised they didn't get sued sooner, google has always been pretty sneaky with users data.
Hopefully AMD solves their GPUs efficiency. The RX7000 all ran hot and chugs power. Even had a Nitro plus model 7900xtx with hotspots reaching 88~90c. Repasted it and everything. No change. Think those chaplets on the die is what helped make the card inefficient. It was a cost cutting production move anyway so it's nice to see them stepping that back to monolithic dies tell they solve that issue.
🧐
I currently have a 7900XTX so im not planning to upgrade anytime soon but i'm sure by the time i hope to upgrade AMD will be back releasing high end stuff or nVidia is done being a big goofball and will lower their prices a good amount.

I thought AMD stopped releasing driver updates for Polaris GPU's? Why would they allow the release of a new rx550?
those card just need some basic drivers not new drivers with latest games fixes or optimization.
AMD 8000 high-end will cost somewhere between a GRE And XTX.
Basically more 7900XTs that are more simple to make
8800XT from leaks from almost half a year ago were supposed to be between 7900XT and 7900XTX, even more like between 4080 and 7900XTX in raster, for between 450 and 550 if i remember well
RT should be upped so overall it will be cheaper and better, and since barely anyone cares for AMD in higher end, then why bother with 5090 competetitor? so you can get better price for nvidia? low end is where radeon thrives because upscaling and RT is of no importance there and people are way more likely to consider it
problem is those "low end" also get expensive....for AMD. that's why navi 33 in 7600 use 6nm process (which is enhance 7nm) not 5nm. so even if AMD compete on the mid range and lower only it does not mean cheaper price for consumer.

I figured incognito mode was still collecting data when I kept receiving spam emails
I mean its google we talking about, the single feature it has is no search history on your computer.
Wasn´t it already said that there was some f-up with the high end 8000 series, so AMD would only come out with mid tier GPUs with the 8000 series, as fixing the issue with the high end would take too long, and next gen might be out close to fixing that. And AMD would NOT compete with high end nVidia.
Instead they could focus on the next gen.
Only good thing might be slightly lower Power Consumption compared to older generation.
And then hopefully better pricing.
I think the coach from Varsity Blues needs to have a little sit-down-talk with AMD, come on Team Red, get it together....
Efficiency dude. No one thought these would perform better.

All Incognito Mode does is delete your browsing history afterwards. The fact that people thought it meant “no data collection” means people don’t understand how tech companies work, and don’t understand how browsers work.
ikr. idk how people don't know about that. even if you're using incognito, your isp will still know what you're searching.
Makes sense for AMD to fall back to the midrange and lower end market for gpus. They had sich a strong showing eith theur last generation that you can still buy rx 580s (well and now 550s) new. I think this is a good move to increase market and mind share, and let Nvidia stagnate for a bit
problem is that low end will at least cost $300 while mid range will start at $500.
That AMD infortion is tragic. Unfortunately we don't get Intel competing with nvidia on the high end either.
All I'll look for is an RX 8600, which I hope the power draw will be under 130W and VRAM of 12 GB 128 bits at least.
I once barfenboigled all over the interwebs. It took more than a tissue to clean it up.
I have been GPU (AMD/Nvidia) agnostic and have been purchasing whatever was best for the task needed personally and professionally… My Data Analysis has shifted from being CPU focused to GPU focused. From my testing I am not going to be buying AMD. It’s easier to run the program on the CPU vs RDNA 2/3.
It would be interesting to see how the next Intel GPU does.
AMD lacks of a CUDA equivalent.
@@zsideswapper6718 no need for a "CUDA equivalent" if software doesnt support it...AMD gpu´s would be perfectly fine for professional workloads, but this software`s just dont support them and the devs dont care if you have a amd gpu...if you want to use there software, get the hardware that they support.
all this info about the 8000 series means is nvidia is not going to release a 5090 initially. the rumors are the 5080 beats the 4090 handily, if that's the case then they'll release the 5080, price it above the 4090 so as to not canibalize those sales. move the whole product lineup up the ladder (price ladder) so the 5070 will be priced similar or higher then the 4080 excetera.
no 5090 till the end of the cycle, they'll release one at like a 3000 price point about 8 months before the 6000 series release.
Reese needs a ring light
Hey Brett, AMD actually announced roughly a year ago that they’re not gonna compete in the high end because RDNA 4 wasn’t up to par.
I think down the road, a few months later, Z1E would probably sell @ $299.
We'll be lucky if the high end battlemage cards can match 4070s performance.
Another excellent Roundup of news!
RTX 5090 (B203) 10-20% faster 16/24gb(if 3gb module avail by then) than 4090 and RTX Black Titan (B202) Workstation/AI Card
Seriously. Everyone Loved the RX 400 and 500 cards. I'll definately Look Into the RX 8000 lineup If Power Draw, price and Performance are AS good as They were the Last Time They didnt compete in the highest end
There will be the RTX5090 cuz they are already releasing Blackwell this year in AI space. It will be better for them to sell the 5090 as long as possible without any competition at all. The 8000 gpu will be overpriced cuz it’s “new” and they might tie AI generated frames feature to the RX 8000 series.
so my oc'd 6800xt is going to get a third generation of being relevant? awesome
The AMD 8000 series are old news. This is the reason i upgraded my 6950xt to a 7900XTX after 8 months use. I will still have a top end AMD GPU for the next 2-3 years :)
5080 anticipated launch?
I think AMD isnt making high end gpu is to save development costs to make the next generation better with actually competing with Nvidia, the 7000 has the advantage of being lower price than rtx 4000 but they dont have good software optimisation like CUDA and they barely have any good ai support. Amd needs to remake Radeon like they changed their CPU to Ryzen.
even if they did nvidia most likely still ahead. RX7000 was supposed to be AMD Ryzen moment when they bring in chiplet to consumer GPU but it did not bring in that massive impact like it did with CPU because the opponent is nvidia not intel.
Bring on Zen 5.
New AMD 8000 series graphics cards will hopefully be priced well and also much more efficient than current generation cards. While not competitive with high end 5000 series RTX cards, this will allow AMD to dominate the mid tier which is where the true volume exists.
but consumer also need to accept that "well priced" mid range is $500++

As I already own a high end amd gpu I see this as an absolute win.
I don't believe it AMD will announce their top tier gpu close to their release date. An early statement of a weak gpu to discourage nvidia to push something less powerful and a late announcement to take everyone by surprise. I believe it's all mind games.
8:20 more money is from low and mid tier than high tier.
Now manufacturers are upgrading backwards?
Maybe AMD isn't releasing high end because they've found a break through in Ray Tracing performance and they're going to push that angle instead? So it'll be like a 7900 that can do Ray Tracing at 120 fps or something like that? 🤔
Not advertised for GAMERS must be a Legit company with no gimmicks xD
I have a second-hand RX 6700 XT, so something as powerful as a 4070 Ti SUPER is pretty appealing. I'd like my next card to be 16GB. If the price is right, I'll consider it along with the RX 7800 XT. I'm guess that a 16GB NVIDIA card will be too expensive for me.
I keep getting somewhat excited about AMD and Intel GPUs but my dang 1060 is still too kinda ok and still running the games ish. I guess that kind of speaks towards the accessibility of gaming. There is always that newer shinier betterer piece of hardware out there but The Shortage(tm) really forced me to appreciate what I have and learn to just be happy with it.
Thats a awesome shirt my dude.
RDNA 4- bigger memory bandwidth, hopefully more vram, better ray tracing, more power effecient and better value for money
nvidia would love to make a 5090, with the same performance, as a 4090. at 400 dollars higher MSRP.
I hope AMD will fix the RX 8000 GPUs given they have plenty of months to plan and release it.
reece forgot the best deal of today.. 13% off rare brew coffee 😎
Good to see you back Brett. FYT!!!!!
Another RX 5000 midrange generation. This seems to only happen when AMD isn't expecting any nextgen consoles. It's like they are not allowed to truly unveil new tech until PS6 and Series Y or whatever demoes it. Then the following generation they can refresh that tech and then hopefully but the generation after there is a pro model or something that uses the next new tech, or it stretches out the previous gen like this. Another reason to stay Nvidia. They don't seem to play these weird games.
If AMD makes great, affordable cards then I'm fine with them not competing with something that's going to be $2,500. They might as well invest more of their time and effort for the 99% of gamers.
i want that 4080super
Discernment Brent....
You this icognoto mode is illegal it falls under phishing
One of the IT admins I ran into today bought into the Nvidia bought x-box fools post.
Post April Fools day! Happy times.
I hate when battle mages get there power nerfed
I really hope AMD and Intel are able to take market share in the mid-low end market next generation. I think that is where they have the best chance. At the top end most people are picking Nvidia either way. To them it doesn't matter that Nvidia is $100-200 more expensive because they're already spending so insanely much on a GPU. At the low end however people are trying to save every penny they can so if AMD or Intel has a decent price I'm sure more people would be willing to give them a shot.
Hopefully it's not a tradition to have UFD Tech down yearly. Does Google hate Brettfast?
if amd can increas RT perfromance on RDNA 4 then it'll still be worth it
Price and Wperformance.
