honestly dude i play xbox cloud every day i use my phone on it in the car (its still shit in the car though lol) but i dont even pay for xbox gp ultimate i get keys from an app on my phone for less than $4 for 1 month hahaha fuck microsoft
not alot of people are really stoked about it as much as i am, im playing skate 3 on my phone but people i tell about it (discord sometimes,) its a mutual dismissal. I think it's mostly for kids who want to play fortnite but don't have a computer for it.
Nice to see these Near-Monopolies starting to face consequences for their anti-consumer, anti-competition practices. Let's hope NVIDIA is next on the chopping block. After that we can set our sites on Adobe.
Apple does incredibly frustrating things with wearables. Apple doesn't allow any wearable to reply to notifications(like texts/messaging), but also data connections only work while the app is running on the phone. So if my Fitbit watch uses data to show the weather, it will stop working when the app is put to sleep by iOS. So to view the weather on my watch, I have to unlock my phone, open the Fitbit app, and then I can go back to my watch to view the weather.
Apple sabotages the smart device market on purpose to prop up its own devices like the Apple watch and everybody knows it.
I'll never buy anything apple. They go through so much trouble to make proprietary cables just to screw customers. For goodness sake they imbed microcontrollers in their cables so they can communicate with their products so customers cant use 3rd party cables. disgusting. any company trying so hard to scam their customers doesn't deserve my business.

I am going to wait and see what Hardware Unboxed and Digital Foundry say before coming to any conclusions. AMD has made promises, and failed stick the landing multiple times before. Wait and see.... wait and see.

The work around for the issue of the game is to start the installation of that game on the portable disk and the launcher will find the files and do the "installation" ultra fast, because only reads the files that are already there. This usually works with other launchers, like Xbox, EA, Ubisoft, etc...

I want Epic Games to be competitive with Steam because you never know when Steam will turn into the next Apple or Ngreedia.
I refuse to spend a single penny in epic, tencent is an investor, and I try to avoid supporting Chinese companies as much as possible. I do collect all the free games, though, to cost them money to hurt tecents investments as much as possible.

i have found i can reinstall a game to a previously installed drive location, the result is SLOW as it verifies the existing data instead of storing it. am i wrong?
I feel like I didn't explain myself enough in the console comment. I meant there were no full on exclusives that released that are not slated to come to PC that I am interested enough in to buy a console. All the love to my console folks out there, but I am ok with waiting for the games I want to play.
I'm frankly ready for the console wars to end. There's progress and ease from consoles, but I want to play Zelda and Bloodborne on my PC, too. I don't want to look over my shoulder at unsigned executables or Nintendo/Sony Legal while playing games.
If people can be mad at Apple for their shenanigans, I can be tired with consoles for theirs.
You can have game files installed on external drive / other drive and install it to the location there's an FAQ on epic that explain how it's done, when you choose install navigate to the folder it'll just perform a verification "install" you don't redownload the files.

I've got an RX7900XT and have been playing on Starfield with FSR3 and my take on FSR3 is that it appears to be better overall. I haven't gone into specifics on what looks better, but it does feel and look better overall. I'm excited to see what FSR3.1 will bring! I have Cyberpunk 2.0 with the Phantom Liberty addons, but it still utilizes FSR2. It too, plays nicely.
One thing that's important to me lately though, is physics, in games (Teardown). I remember Nvidia cards having PhysX capabilities baked-in, but I'd like to see AMD cards with their hundreds of stream processors incorporate physics capabilities like their Nvidia counterparts have.

Eye tracking on the psvr2 allows for regional upscaling and allows for a much more immersive and lower GPU taxing experience. It's actually really really well done on the psvr2.

the workaround:
-start the game download
-pause it
-close EGS
-find EGS games folder
-copy and paste the full game into the EGS folder
-open EGS

the work arround is doing this:
- tell the launcher to install the game, when the install its on downloading, close the launcher
- copy the folder with the full game
- relaunch the launcher, it will check t he files and its done
- it suck like anything that epic does

I'm glad that I have a Playstation 5 in order to experience GTA VI on day 1. But this is an extremely rare moment where I wish a gaming company (Rockstar) actively chases monetary income, because I just built a PC in recent months. I'd rather buy it & play it with the better visuals that my PC offers on day 1, especially considering I likely won't pursue a PS5 Pro due to having the PC.

Developers/publishers could, if they desire, offer lower prices on Epic while maintaining the same revenue per sale. That alone could make Epic store better. Also, I don't use the epic launcher, I use Heroic/Legendary. The external storage problem isn't a problem there AFAIK.

windows recently died on me, and I had to reinstall it, when I booted into it and downloaded steam, i was happy to see that my 1.5tb of games were still on a separate drive, saved me a headache. knowing that epic won't do that makes it even less appealing than it already is.

Not many androids have a proper LiDAR sensor as it isn't really relevant for them. FaceID/facetracking is the only use case I've seen them be used on phones for either face ID or face tracking, so imo ita only a niche use case.
The cloud gaming issue is a forward looking problem they're trying to solve ahead of it being ubiquity
Picked up DD2 on GMG and while it's expensive, it could have been more expensive... Though, damn, is that thing resource hungry... I need a thousand dollar GPU to run it. I regret having a huge 4K monitor. 🤣

I prefer epic games launcher for it UI, and the games they give away.
I install games to my external drive and then can switch it to other PCs by starting the install on the external drive, ans then stopping it and remove the drive and then verify game files, it works sometimes and sometimes not more so than not(on epic)
Also frame gen being an option for my 3050,as frame gen only works on 40 series so amd is giving more life to Nvidias older gpus
This amd move is good for me as a 3080ti owner. I can't use dlss 3.5 frame gen and I own an Nvidia card smh.

A week ago, I'd have said EGS was better than Steam from a parental controls standpoint. Everything about Steam's parental controls was awful. Epic had a simple PIN system and made it easy for us to decide what to allow and when.
Then the new Steam Families beta landed, and it's _life changing_ for our household. EGS isn't the worst (that's whatever EA is calling Origin this week), but EGS was fit for purpose for parental controls for years before Steam was

There's only a few reasons i won't support Epic. The only thing they have going for them in my eyes in UE5, and even then I wish they'd commit more to OpenSource like they did with UE4, even though I think keeping it proprietary is the appropriate thing to do.

Ive had a sony android phone and they have come a long way with messages. They have RCS and it works just as well as imessage. I now have an iphone and submitted to the eco system. And it is what they say. “Everything just works” - its better. Get over it. And its better because its a more polished eco system unlike android. But I’m all for open source. My laptop is debian and my gaming pc is windows and all AMD hardware. Some things are just better (for me)

I think that Epic is better than Steam! when we want a worse experience! it's so nice to be unable to work on unreal engine because the GAME store don't want to load... so nice to wait so long for it to launch! when it's launch.

Is it 'exclusive' if it ends up comming to PC anyway and being considered by most to be the better experiance in all reguards? Sure you might have to wait a little bit, but its still cheaper then buying a console and having to have cramped hands on a controler. That's not to start on emulation (like it or not it is the only way to play many games now). So really, if all you want is exclusives, PC is the way to go. Not only are their tons of them, but the 'exclusives' of the console world end up on PC eventualy anyway.

I hate the epic games app on pc is so bad, like all the options to do with game files is just, not there. Try moving a game to a different drive, or just downloading mods. What about moving the game file. Xbox app does this too but if you physically move a game, then move it back, the app just doesnt recognise it, where steam does immediatly

I really don’t know a single person who uses a streaming platform to play games. I know people with cheap facebook market place computers, because buying a used pc throwing a gpu in it, is better and cheaper, over the long term, specially with geforce now day pass like you are at david busters

I don't trust Epic game to many shady things they been doing is all, I don't trust steam to much, but epic is higher on that list right next to up there with EA, Microsoft and Ubsoft.

councils suck, pc is great. i have games from the days of doss still in my steam library that i can play today. here's one, my daughter is playing minecraft. she wanted to play on xbox series x with friends and she can't because i wont pay a monthly servise forever when we don't really play anything else on it. we also have minecraft on pc and she can play for free. their are so many examples you could list for pc's being better. this is just one from today. steam library plays on steam deck. etc etc
