Did you get the metal LTT screwdriver
I like the nutritional labels for internet provider companies. I hope they implement this into the cellular network provider companies as well.
The general public doesn't research what the consume anymore and it's showing with what companies are getting away with. This type of label is a start to make the information more accessible. Automotive sales would be so much better if dealerships had this instead of a charismatic guy and a whole contract.
The problem I have with Windows, is that Microsoft is trying to serve two masters: the customers, and the shareholders. When microsoft puts ads into my paid operating system, they are not serving me, they're serving their shareholders against my wishes. I do not want to share ownership of my pc with Microsoft's stockholders. If Windows was free, I could at least see an argument for ads, but this double dipping against my wishes is frustrating. Seems like such a small deal, but they're slowly boiling the frog, and making other OS's(Mac and Linux alike) more desirable.
The only reason my desktop is still Windows is for games, I switched my laptop to Linux and don't regret it
You don’t even own your pc if you run win 11. Microsoft can do stuff with your pc and if it breaks then it is on your dime
Just go back to Windows 7.
Every company with shareholders serves two masters really. The shareholders are typically legally their priority under FCA/SEC rules depending upon region.
Not to mention the pre installed social media apps.
Waifu RAM? I was born in the right generation.
Waifu GPUs
Waifu RAM
What's next (or has already been there)?
Shut up and take my money
@greatwavefan397 if it exists there is a waifu of it
@@greatwavefan397Waifu mobo? Waifu fans? Maybe even a waifu case?
Waifu = Wife + Kung Fu?
Food labels on networking things makes me think of the "nutritional warning labels" that govern bodies started to enforce a while ago.
Just imagine looking into an ISP service and seeing the label "LOW BANDWIDTH" or "HIGH LATENCY"; amazing!
Nutrition Labels on Internet makes me think "YUMMY YUMMY INTERNET MASTER" XD
14:26 Just a thing, FinFET wasn't an Intel thing, it started with DELTA in Hitachi laboratories in Japan and a lot of universities reserach about that in US, Japan and Corea (also a good amount of resources were from their respective armies). Also TSMC and Samsung had working FinFETs before Intel, and Berkeley in specific was key to that development. Also FinFET was great since was Open source and multiple conpanies and universities made contributions to it. But now with the newer nodes the per foundry desing is coming back, they are looking for similar solutions, but each foundry has a design, something that likely will slow a little the semiconductor development and also can make the things harder for Intel, since Samsung and mainly TSMC are ahead of them.
Not hate or something, is just that FinFET was a huge project from multiple great minds and countries just to limit it to Intel.
That RAM is perfect I have a pink system wit the Yeston RTX 4080 Sakura GPU!
I had to sit through ISP troubleshooting and restarts, even though I had a cut fiber line in my backyard and told them it was severed
The plastic peel debate made me think back to my grandmother's plastic covered sofa and chair when I was really young. Slippy slidey sitting fun 😆
And when it was hot and or humid it's sticking to your legs and buttom, that was an experience 😂
how are the joysticks supposed to work with that Playtron handheld? that has to be a rendered image, under the joysticks its concaved, the opposite of every gaming joystick made in over the last decade.
There's so much performance left on the table for GPUs like layering more L1 L2 and L3 cache to make them Push higher IPC without voltages kind of like X3D
*Sakura* Memory 😋 🌸
planning matx sff build so 7700 with 4060 lp wished there was rx 7000 low profile gpu.
Cubic boron nitride might be another upgrade that replace silicon.
MIT in 2022 shown how to use it, hardcore level of complicity, but final potential nearly triple power density, and much better heat/leak efficiency (I don't have numbers though)
it's more of a controlled crystallization, than carving big ass crystal, so potentially no size limits as well.
if anyone can crack HOW TO, do this at decent pace, and not spending national budget of half of the world while at it, we might print them in next few (well more decades than years, realistically)
i went to peel the film of the built in i/o sheild on my new asus tuf gaming b650 plus wifi, only to find it isnt suppost to come off ,it started taking the print with it and left glue gunk, ipa and label remover doesnt work on this stuff , my previous build was 10 years ago so i didnt know
Not peeling... keeping resell value up.
I have the Epomaker TH96 and it's a pretty decent board, not a huge fan of the programming software but it's not the worst thing. I'm more of a Via person but the build is good and it feels premium and has great typing feel.
The fact that the government has to step in and force ISPs to tell customers upfront what they will be charged is quite telling.
And I know it's probably totally listed somewhere but finding out the price of something you buy should never require more effort than to shoot a glance at a price tag.
6:29 because we have so many different choices? What's the point when you are basically stuck with one ISP? It's not like I can switch to Comcast or any other provider. I'm stuck with whichever one has a Monopoly on my area.
That is the funny thing, about 6 months after Net Neutrality got removed I all of a sudden did (and still do) have 2 choices. Right now today, I have a Mediacom (former vendor) cable dangling right next to my Comcast (current vendor) cable. It is beautiful having that to dangle over each of them to switch.
Now I stated that was after Net Neutrality was removed... I absolutely agree that NN did/does/could do other things that are very valuable for us as citizens. Of course the issue is corruption and incompetence. There is no way the people writing those net neutrality laws/bills/codices aren't being bombarded by either money or lies by the big corps. Which means the rules they put in effect are not always great, or else have a big gaping loophole which makes them useless.
I wouldn't be surprised if on silicone was starting to reach that limit for performance and power. But they have been working very hard on carbon fiber based chips
Also optical, boron's a possibility
7:47 i hope dawid gets some "wifo" ram
i heard intel is gonna try putting the power delivery on the opposite side of the silicon dye so the interconnects dont interfere with the power delivery traces
Cooling the back side
AMD should just make the the standard model 3D cache for all variants.
Always watch your videos for my first break at work makes a great day in the hot news for nerds
Hey, I thought I'd just quickly comment on the last comment you commented on. I'm a Computer Engineering major, so I've learned that power consumption = voltage^2 / resistance, so cutting voltage in half should decrease power consumption by 4 times. However, by doing that you'll need to run your chips slower, so I think that GPUs in the future will have slower clock speeds, but will be much bigger. Running them slower should keep the power levels in check.
They should just use power controllers instead of resistors
@@BelaPuma what do you mean by power controllers? The resistance I was talking about was the very small resistance of the wires - wires aren't perfect, and the transistors have a small amount of capacitance to them, so that means current needs to go through the wires. That, and some power is consumed because the transistors are leaky, so there's a limit to how slow you can run them. Running with the maximum efficiency is called near threshold computing.
I keep the protective film on so I'm not getting scratches and prints on my glass case. I have to move my pc a lot.
My sister is the same over film on phones. I never took my film of any phone screen as it doesn't bother me and it save the screen from scratches which bother my more.
We may be approaching the fundamental limits of 2d chip design. We have 2.5d that started with finfet and now stacking, but I bet there are tons of advancements within reach with this. Then ultimately, true 3d chip design where the local fields of each component are truly optimized in 3 dimensional space for the best density still awaits us.
10y later we found a way to send processing back in time 4D architecture
FYI. When you finally get too much crap built up under the plastic and it looks bad... all the heat cycles are going to make that plastic nearly impossible to remove. The glue will be so cooked on... wouldn't leave that on.
Yeah when i call up the ISP for tech support and I explain my problem i tell them i already did everything and need tier 2 support.
00:40 can run epic games game's on Steam Deck though, Heroic Launcher
My isp already implemented it. It’s a hell of a lot easier to read.
i love protective film because i can peel it off like 5 years later and everything looks brand new
I want that anime theme ram as long as you can see it from the side
The KFC console was just supposed to be a case for the Ghost Canyon NUCs.
Bret, can you talk about suyu & Sudachi tomorrow in hot news, discord shutdown and banned the developers working on it. This is bad for the community, and discord should be called out.
ummm, what happened to ryzen 8000 series?
I wonder if NVidia being so into AI is that they want to build an AGI to make their chips faster....
5:36
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wow, nobody is talking about that phone stand. I love that it will block out other voices and some sounds! It would be amazing if gaming headsets had that technology. If it's already out there let me know.
0:10 This something you can't say with a straight face in 2024
If broadband is getting a nutritional label, how about a label for Brettfast? We don’t want to get fat on our NotHews!
Dell caused a bunch of fires with protective film on laptop power adapters. They actually covered a vent with it. Plus it insulates.
What on earth was that dodgy looking metal object you were spinning by the phone during the noise elimination test.😅
I've been praying for better regulation on ISP's, awesome to see changes take place.
Doesn't PlaytronOS know that Crypto/NFT/Web3 is passe and the real hotness is Everything AI? Come on, it's 2024, PlaytronOS. Get with the times.
What the hell are you doing with that screwdriver!?!? 😆
@UFDTech Brother you answered @joshuaparker5133 question without a doubt. More's Law doesn't Exist!!! lol Its just innovation.
The fundamental problem with the food labels for internet is the basic assumption of choice. Sure I can pick up several different snacks and see which one I want to purchase, internet I have one real choice and then a couple that are slightly better than dial-up.
Those Canadians are in CZcams comments AND Twitch lurking!😂
I want the Palit Frog on my box AND GPU!
that handheld is going to steal all of your coins
Assuming you have one
@@fajaradi1223 true.
I wish the nutrition label was a universal standard. A certain big cell phone company is doing a “Trade in your old iPhone, and get an iPhone 15 Pro on us” promotion. Except you don’t actually trade your old phone for a new one. You STILL have to finance the full price of the phone. I don’t mind some anti-consumer wording being lessened.
The thing about ISPs... you set up your plan they tell you that you'll pay X amount a month, for Y service, and when the next bill comes it's NOT that X price you were given, and there's nothing listed telling you why it's different. Even if it's only a few dollars difference, you have no idea why it's not the same.
They found a solution to quantum tunnelling. Wave inversion. Just like XLR cables.
Yeston returning the pc component waifu of early 2k, now I wish those characters ain't trademarked to be remade.
Get that nutrition label on the KFC console.
I know they say playing with one hand when there are waifus in a game, but with that ram, you’re going to be playing with one eye too. 👀
One time I was on a call with the ISP for 2 hours to discover that the ethernet cable was not properly inserted in the back of the modem. I ignored the first request to check the cables cause I thought I was better than a simpleton… always follow their instructions!
AMD will release 9040 CPUs for laptops, so seeing 9000 rather than specific 9059 says nothing about Zen 5.
5:35 The fact that internet companies make it SOOOOO hard to find this info when you're signing up just shows how scummy they are. Most of the time you have to literally leave the section of the website where you sign up for internet to find anything other than the sign up rate (with no indication of when that ends) and the MAXIMUM speed not the actual speed you'll be getting per say. I'm glad they are finally doing something like this.
*you're
Lol. We only have one ISP in our area. Why does it matter if they clearly lable their info?
Everyone has 2 ISP's now.. I was able to argue my monthly charges because I now have the option of Starlink 😎
Well just got my first job, maybe i can afford to finally upgrade out of AM4 and get a 9000 series cpu
how did you know im eating my breakfast at 18:00 :O ...
if you and reese go to computex together would you ask asus rog would the next gen would get a Poseidon series gpu? rtx 5090 or rx 8900 xtx?
It’s very difficult to take you seriously when you can’t make the effort to hide the one cable over your shoulder.
A nutrition label means I can eat the internet, right?
Brettfast + HotNews + RareBrew is the only 3-way my wife approves.
I'll wait for the 9800x3D. I'm not even going to upgrade my 3700x till that releases.
No Brett, you are wrong, everything is better with wifus........back me up Mr. Categorically Unvibable 😂
nutritional labels makes totally sense as you get some bites from it
The film doesn't bother me either. I left mine on my PC glass for years until I did an upgrade and then I peeled it to make it feel like I had a whole new computer. 😁 Delayed gratification is good for the brain. The generation has a short attention span.
Hot news makes my brettfast great every day.
Nobody suspects the Canadians! Our chief weapon is inconspicuousness. inconspicuous and fear. Our two weapons are fear and inconspicuousness. And ruthless efficiency! Our 3 weapons!
StartAllBack is a thing.
Us Canadians will remember this...
I will stay on windows 10 as long as I can
My 5950x is getting kinda old, time for an upgrade
At this point, he is doing it to spite us :D. Peel it off or else I will find you.
Damn my birthday today 🥳
tensor, not tera. Tensor Operations Per Second
No, it's tera.
Damn i bought my ram too early, let me return it
Thats some tasty broadband! Are they going to claim that it does not meet your daily requirement for Fiber?
8000 series is not even done yet please and dont release 9000 yet😭
Microsoft needs to be a little careful with how much pain they inflict. Gamers like us have the option to use Linux and Steam now. And HDR is there too (at least in full-screen). I'm getting ready to nuke my NTFS partitions.
Thanks!
WE LOVE REESE
I think the broadtrition facts label isn't a bad idea, but implementing something like "latency" is really difficult. Latency from where to where? With your local infrastructure? What about throttling nuance? I doubt any government board will be coherent enough to not let it be just as misleading as what's on these company pages now.
I honestly feel like we're going to a future where Windows will be a paid service, somehow. As with Office which has gradually replaced the one-time payment to the 365 yearly subscription method. Microsoft would be swimming in money.
Everyone swore up and down that the KFC Console was real. I called BS the ENTIRE time. It was too dumb to exist.
We need more nutrition labels on things, how about a new car? mpg/$
Ryzen is edging closer? Phrasing?
I thought the nutrition label style was some media company making fun, not the legit style... that's so weird
where's the other dude I miss him😭
Anime market needs to target me harder I want to be degenerate
Too bad yeston went with Corsair instead of trying for crucial or g.skill
Its almost like Microsoft doesn't understand why most people aren't switching xd
😢 So sad. I did wait for the KFC computer or bucket case. My internet food label with no carbs, please. 😂😂
I will stay with win10, and only switch to win11 when they finally allow the start bar/app bar to be moved from the bottom to the right.
Also how much you want to bet that nutrition ISP label is going to be "typical speed 1GB" to begin with, and then everyone starts suing them I'd join that bandwagon. I'm sick and tired of ISPs thinking they can say "up to 1GB" and you only get 300mbps typically. I'd much rather see a Guaranteed Minimum, obviously if it's down it's down, but then a Theoretical Maximum.
