In you’re in the EU, it’s 2 years mandatory, no matter what the manufacturer tells you. If it gets repaired you get another year of warranty (proposed bill)
I think hes talking about the 1 year apple warranty which is additional to the 2 year dealer warranty you are referring to. Latter is mandatory the former is voluntary
Eu has 6 years after manufacture’s warranty
@@bananaguy1846 EU Directive 2019/771 requires manufacturers to offer at least 2 years of warranty. That’s what’s in effect right now. However, there is a proposed bill (not in effect at the moment) that:
- -will force electronics manufacturers to have 6 years of warranty- (cannot validate accuracy)
- if your device is repaired you get another year
- even if you’re out of warranty, the manufacturer must accept your repair if you bring it in

@@tdrg_ I hope that gets through
Good to know! That lightsaber lockscreen was genius, whoever did it.
I came looking for this comment and I gotta agree, it's genius.
Finally someone mentions it😂
That 1 second green light was criminal
Damn my phone is filled with green lines, I didn't even noticed
If anyone lives in Maine, we have a 4 year implied warranty law. Both sellers and manufacturers have to honor the warranty so keep your receipts.
That genius thought windu had a green lightsaber😂😂
idk if anyone noticed but the serial number of the phone at the end said subscribe 😂
😂i did
It says "5UB5CR16E" if anyone is wondering
How did you even notice that?! And damn what a cool easter egg.
@@AdamArtzi i don’t know my eye just caught it
W man ! He could have said , please bring it to me I can repair it top notch but still he decided not to , you're awesome dude !
he's not owning an apple authorized repair center, just a basic repair center.
If you have even a tiny scratch or dent in any part of the phone they'll straight up reject to fix the green line screen.
As long as it's not near the display you should be okay. You have to push a little but it's 100% something they should cover.
@@PhoneRepairGuru they should cover, but they don't cover especially Android manufacturers until they get pressure from social media or creators. To calm down the bad PR they will allow free screen replacements but then they will put such terms & conditions in which majority of victim won't be able to fix the device for free. Or they will force users to buy their newer model phones by providing discount on newer model but not fix the screen giving the excuse of supply shortage.
In the past few years motherboards of so many Xiaomi phones (Redmi & Poco) just randomly died when the phone were out of warranty and the official service centres only offered paid motherboard replacement and nothing else, leaving the consumers to either go for third party service centre repair or purchase whole new phone again.
Yes, if the phone's body is damaged, they won't repair it. But if it's not, they won't charge you anything. This happened to my sister. It was a OnePlus phone. The social media pressure pushed the company to repair the damaged phones but then after so many devices experiencing the same problem they started saying they don't have the parts and started giving discounts on newer OnePlus models instead of repairing the phone.
Just don't be an indian jeet that fixes 99% of the issues
SHOULD cover and DO cover are not the same thing, you sweet innocent summer child.
Editor tried to scare us with a green line I saw it
Yeah!
In the EU if you get the same problem once and get it fix you get another 3 years warrenty for if the same problem happens
Me after dropping my OPPO 13 times and still fine without a screen protector : Ig you got what they call a skill issue my guy 🗿
Frr 🗿🍷🍷
@@VihangaXO team unbreakable is here 🗣️🗣️🗿 wassup
Sadly for me samsung did not cover it. Its over 2 months only but they did not consider it. It ended up replacing the screen battery and charging port.
That's insane. Because I had my samsung replaced for a screen bleed that samsung usually avoids saying its a user issue ( basically the glass is okay but the oled underneath leaks purple ink like stuff) and no I never dropped my phone. Where did you buy it from ? Maybe the shop you bought it from didn't cover such a thing ? Also , it's a noted thing samsung screens sometimes go bad after updates. Like not lines , but flickering. OR wait , did you mean your phone was out of warranty for 2 months ? Then that makes sense.
@@orange_tweleve yep just over 2 months, bought it directly from samsung. Never dropped it doesn't have any scratch its in very good condition because im using it for maybe in a day 4 hours only for social media and youtube, i have a daily driver phone which is Huawei
In the UK it's 6 years of _seller_ warranty if it becomes defective, and within the first 6 months of ownership you can ask for a replacement first instead of just asking for a repair first.
More countries should push these standards. Rn buying phones from a country with no regulation is such a gamble. I've had multiple devices fail within thr first 3 or 6 months. Or right after ending the 1 year warranty. It's insane how much of a gamble it is .
I have never had a green line before but I also never have dropped my phone far very far places.
Visiting the genius bar got me nowhere. I was told it was because I damaged my phone and the store manager backed up the tech. The phone was never used beyond trying to set it up.
I ended up returning it for a full refund and got a competing product.
In Kyrgyzstan service center says "It's not guarantee case" and you can't even sue such service center because no one gonna accept an application. But anyway most popular phone here is iPhone
I love my 2016 iPhone SE. it has a headphone jack, the power button on top where it belongs, a home button, and it isn’t absurdly huge like even the “mini” phones are now.
Oh nice that 3rd picture of the green straight line through it is my birthday
Thanks for pointing this out
The line that looks like a smiley face :-)
In Australia you get one year manufacture warranty and then an additional 1 year statutory warranty which the phone companies definitely keep secret
They won't offer to fix it for free unless you mention the warranty
Please do a video about how certain areas such as the state of Maine, actually have an implied warranty under state law that goes into effect after the manufacturer's warranty.
"If the phone isn't cracked"
Oh, there gors my hopes. I gotta get this thing fixed asap.
All the pixels on my phone slowly died after i dropped it, and i have to use my super old one because of those darn repair costs
I too had the same issue. The official service centre replaced my screen even when the phone was out of warranty and the back glass was cracked
Welp I kinda pay around 70$ just to fix it since suddenly it appear out of nowhere... my warranty was expired and they dont accept it😪
Problem in my country is they’ll blame you for anything and say the warranty won’t cover it. This happened to me with my MSI gaming laptop, brand new from the box and it kept having GPU crashes/blue screen (basically I couldn’t play any 3d game or any game that needs to use the gpu) and most importantly it wouldn’t start (it’d turn on but no splash screen or anything, just the fan). After I gave it to them literally the next week they were insisting that I somehow tampered with it. Long story short I fixed it by running a simple bios update, that’s it. Oh and they never fixed my laptop they kept it there for 3 days and gave it back
Hey did you know i have 4 green lines and one pink line
Oled screen looks good, but i prefer to buy ips for longevity and lower repair cost, sadly it getting hard to find with a good specs
I like the mace windo one
We've got 3 years warranty for those issues for Vivo X50-X70 Series here in indonesia
Reason why I still kind of prefer mini LED. I have two devices that are OLED they have lines because their old. Meanwhile the same device Ipad that uses Mini Led doesn't have any issue even after years.
in malaysia, 1 year, that’s it. for extra warranty you have to purchase applecare.
When you said switch to oled displays i thought you were talking about lcd nintendo switch and oled nintendo switch
I got free replacement 10 months after warranty expired + 3 months warranty on the replacement
If you use OnePlus, it's free for LIFETIME.
until the vendor tells you "2 years warranty only"
@@marten6578 Not in india. I have seen them replace free of cost for lifetime which is lik4 3 year or so
"once or twice"
about that
I've recently had that on my iphone 14, Started with a pink line then a green line.. reported the case to apple and then they fixed it. But i had to get the phone all the way to the UK ;)..
I did that Apple charged me because of a bent frame witch I didn’t do
Bro just told us to use the warranty
👍
You'd be surprised how many people have no idea this warranty exists
@@PhoneRepairGuru everyone knows
Some people have no idea that the warranty exists dude. Like old people who use an iPhone 15 pro max for some apparent reason get scammed by apple themselves.
But no one reads it @@pmm3501
Good that i have a 5 year warranty with my phone
That would have been nice to know quite a while ago. I had to buy multiple phones because it was more expensive to fix it then get a new phone
After this vid my phone has no hope to be repaired
Yes, as long as there are no signs of physical to the phone(anywhere), and under the 1 year warranty, apple will replace the display for no cost.
In Europe we have shop and manufacturers warranty.
Wow That's very interesting this screen also can be fixed too
You don't need to pay issues like green lines or no response.
and they said samsung got green screen issues lmao
Ahh, yes, watching this with 5 lines in my screen.
Ah yes, the floor here is made out of floor
Anyone else see the 1 sec green light? 😂😂
I got my 13 pro covered after warranty it's a hassle but worth it
Here in Pakistan, a lot of people who can't afford brand new phones for gaming, usually buy these imported/smuggled phones with high specs and low price. Many of them face such issues.
In Mumbai, India, my 13 pro max had a green screen and apple BKC replaced it for free
My dog bit my phone and there is a hole with white yellow green lines going in rows at the top and Face ID is broken so I got that for me😭
I dropped my phone like 40 times already and there are only two small cracks on the plastic back "glass" that aren't even visible with my now yellow case
When my dad got the iphone 12, it had a green line and tint on it. He had to buy 6 phones..
Me with 2000+ lines on OnePlus 🙂🙌
In the UK, consumer law dictates 3 years
OnePlus did not repair the green line phones, they just replaced it with new phones or offered them a trade-in for a newer version of the phone, even if It's out of warranty
Dropped my xr once and now I have an liquid crystal display that’s bleeding 😢
Why does the air look like the mini
Me who seeing this video o an phone with green line. And its the 3rd time on the same phone and its the 3rd display
Here’s me having the same problem with my 14 pro max and having to spend £360 on a new screen 🤦🏻♂️
This happened to my phone a few days ago. T-mobile exchanged it st know cost. My phone was in great condition. I got the green line and it decided to pop up while I was watching youtube.
For the iPhone X apple covered it for 5 years after purchase in Europe at least
I've had OnePlus for 4 years and worked at a tire place only had that problem once any my phone was bent so yea. Mostly a apple problem and Samsung. I threw my phone across the room just to prove that point
the way he says "BUT" is so sexy
The fuck
I got a whole ass yellow line on the bottom on my screen, & even though I got my phone less than 2 years ago, it was released 2 1/2 years ago so Idk how that works
Mine got replaced even after out-of warranty (iPhone 13pro max)
Dang shoulda known 3 weeks ago😢
Solo en iphone e visto ese problema y solo con una caida leve
Lmao I’m watching this on my phone with 2 green lines that are on both sides of the screen and there thick
what about small black point
This issue destroyed my faith on a certain brand. I have been using their phones for a decade. But yeah, time to move on.
Or just dont buy iphone
Lol, they'll just insist you somehow broke it and refuse to fix it.
"even if you dropped it once or twice" i dropped my phone at least 100 times consodering that i have been using it since 2017 and the screen has a lot of cracks
This guy seems to live in a world where only Samsung and apple exist☠️
I have some strange burn in on my screen
This happened to me like 2 weeks ago in my S20+ i got in like january and i don't have the original proof of purchase cuz i got it used
I'm cooked 😭
My Older Bro Have A Summsung Galaxy S20 Plus And That Have Two Green Lines
And you dont need to slam the phone on the table
Hi ! My phone won’t turn on after I dropped It in water 😢 warranty is expired… what do you suggest me to do (iPhone 11 pro) ? Last time i checked, the vibrations still worked.
keyword: SHOULD
Team XS max 🙋🏻♀️ love this display for netflix and movies 😊
Does a iPad Pro 2021 with blue spots on the screen when the screen is darker count as well?
Glad mine it's amoled
I wish I saw this 5 months ago I had an iPhone 11 which was a year old and it randomly got green lines without a single crack on the phone and I went out and sold it for 100 dollars and got my 14 and regret it
Day 6 can you make the meta quest 3 transparent
i have LCD
This is not true with samsung indonesia, they always reject anyone with warranty period still active if there's issue with the screen, mostly those line appear after installig software update.
Hey PRG, could you tell us why you use an iphone? From your vids it seems like apple isn’t always your favorite, and I am also someone who uses an iPhone and mac despite knowing how crummy apple can be.
Just curious what a technician like yourself thinks opposed to a musician like me.
Samsung has been using oled for 15 years without problems
He put a green line in the video
I'm with two green lines and two barely visible pink lines on my samsung note 20 ultra. But it is renewd, so I think I have to pay...
You do, unfortunately, because it's past the one year device warranty.
Uhhhhh what if its purple?
Sometimes it can be fixed with tho led apps
My Galaxy S20+ had green line issue EXACTLY after 2 years, when the warranty ends. I brought it to our nearest Samsung Service Center in PH, and all they ever said was they don't cover such problem, mainly because it was already "out of warranty," all without ever knowing that this is already a widespread problem with this particular phone model. I ended up having to replace my screen in black market instead, and it costed 1/3 of what the device costed when it was bought, and only after a year, it started having the same issue again.
In any case, even if Samsung were to have replaced my screen free of charge, the problem is surely bound to occur again in the future, as the issue lies within the circuitry of the phone itself that affects the screen. It's the phone itself that damages and destroys its own display, and it will simply destroy every single display that will ever be attached to it.
How come Samsung was never hated for this?
Where do I send in products?
