what do you eat? you are the same since 19 years ago :) gym? exercises?
As a 7900XTX owner, I’m a little bummed that AMD isn’t interested in continuing to release high end hardware. No competition for Nvidia in the high end market, means they’re probably going to hulk smash everyone’s wallets.
I'm just gonna keep my 7900 xtx for as long as possible.
They are interested, There is a hardware bug with the seven series cards. There addressing this issue with the 8000 refresh coming out soon but skipping the high end cards. This bug fix alone will bring more performance. The card that you have was supposed to be faster than the 4080 and sit in the middle of the 4090RTX. This is why they went back to the drawing board and building a whole new architecture.
You are forgetting intel's upcoming battlemage.....
@@robertjames4908 let's hope that drivers over time are gonna be godlike and battlemage is going to have a brutal raw power
We already have that with the 4090
The GN video regarding the scummy warranty service that Asus provides will make me steer clear of their products.
Same
They've already lost me as a customer for a few years. The GN video just further solidifies my decision.
Tbh I never understood the "premium" label Asus has gotten over the years. From my experience, their motherboards and GPU's are no better or worse than their lesser expensive competitors.
Was never going to get an ROG Ally to begin with but now I also wont be getting any of their motherboards or GPUs any time soon either. I did recently buy one of their monitors but that was before the GN RMA report came out. Unfortunately it was not recent enough to return the monitor though.
I am running out of brands to use >.
🙏
TBF, the 6/7k series from AMD did beat nvidia on price to performance. I have no idea where the "6900xt loses to the 3080" thing came from, but I looked at actual comparisons when it came out (I was gpu shopping at the time) and it was going back and forth with the 3090, a card that cost like, $1600, and I got my 6900xt for $899. AMD's only real issue is that their stuff feels...unstable? There's some games I play where I just KNOW I'm not getting the performance from the card that I should be. Now, that's been VERY minimal throughout the last few years, so getting similar performance for only like, 60% of the price was very worth it to me, but I can see and understand why AMD gpu's are just not breaking into the market like they should be.
Same here, I got a 6950XT because it was much MUCH faster than any nVidia card near it's price. I don't know where this guy gets his info. I'm still playing everything at 144 fps and have plenty of headroom to dial up quality if I want.
yeah i was thinking the same thing. the 6900xt and even the 50 refresh were really good buys once prices came down and nvidia knew that. if it werent for the 6900 series we would have never gotten a 3090ti and i think that says it all
Agreed. 6/7 series are killer bang for the buck gpus. That said, they don't have a 4090, and that's all anyone cares about. Even if it's absurd.
😮
I have been buying AMD GPUs for a long time, and for the most part, they have been great. I built systems for friends and family that have had Nvidia GPUs, and they have been fine. It really depended on what you were doing. Now days, Nvidia has DLSS and RT as well as cuda, nvenc. AMD doesn't make a huge amount of sense at the moment. I have 6900xt and may go for a 8700 if the RT is significantly better. If not, I'll wait for the next gen and see what is the best.
Reportedly, Windows 10 market share is actually growing now and Windows 11 market share is shrinking. What will be Microsoft's response?
"buy windows 12 because windows 10 and 11 will be unsupported and require you to navigate a desktop with a bunch of clickables that make it feel like playing 'what download button is the real one'"
@@LoneWolf0648 Hopefully this can be a Windows 7 and 8 situation where Windows 10 was better than Windows 8 to many people.
The only response we need is to remove the mandatory TPM 2.0 requirement and make it optional, because half of the PCs in the world that are still operating today aren't eligible for official Windows 11 support because of those TPM 2.0 requirements, even if the spec and the performance itself are still more than enough for every task
@@EliezYTWindows XP had something like 2-3 more years of support, because Vista release was delayed for about that long. I wonder if something like this could happen with Windows 10, because there was a long gap between 10 and 11 release.
@@sihamhamda47 That was my biggest gripe with 11. We can still circumvent it, but they could patch that out at any point. It is otherwise the same spyware, adware and bloatware ridden garbage Windows 10 is imo, just a bit worse.
Amd revising it's GPU's was actually pretty good for AMD and me. I have a rx5700 and it had a lot of instability issues from launch on. (and I mean a lot). Especially in the last year the drivers have become way more stable. (can not remember when my card last crashed)
What a time to be alive!
Kind of like my situation with the A750. I've heard all sort of issues with Arc, and also heard of continuous driver improvements, so I bought one to see how much has changed and was surprised how stable the card is. It's been a month and the card just runs any game I throw at it just fine. I only get some random microstutters in Genshin at times, which also happens with Nvidia cards. Some cards can be broken at launch but age really well when given enough support over time.
That is why nvidia have mega market share.
For 20+ years ATI/AMDs drivers have been crap and eventually become passable.
"Fine wine" is the nice way to put it.
😮
@@myne00 Fine wine isn't really the case anymore, RX 6000 and 7000 series cards have been pretty stable from launch.
@@myne00 AMD driver hate is just Nvidia fan boy mysticism, I've used AMD for like 20 years and never had any major problems, saying they're "crap" is just nonsense spin to justify why fanboys wasted money on gimmicks like RTX, Nvidia might have been a bit faster hardware and faster drivers, and you ignore Nvidia literally bricking GPUs with v364.72, or being scammed out of 0.5GB of fast VRAM with the GTX 970 making them age worse than they should have, Nvidia has planned obsolescence in their designs.
More than half of Helldivers 2's sales were on PC. Whatever kickback Square Enix was getting to be a PS Exclusive isn't equal to that lost revenue. Plus, Sony takes a bigger cut than Steam or Epic. Plus, there's even more sales to be had on Xbox. I think the writing was on the wall when Sony started farming off Exclusives to PC. PC is on the rise because it's ultimately cheaper for games and no PS Plus/XBL tax.
If i'm not mistaken steam base cut is 30%. and only get reduced cuts if reach certain sales number.
Also, no one buys jrpgs on Xbox. It's like 4 or 5:1 on PS to Xbox.
@@liesandy29130% is the standard rate
Also steam deck and computer portables are on the rise. No needing to wait to play your favorite game, it's already on the console, it's just a matter of horsepower for the most part.

14:30 The 6900xt was 1k had 16gb of vram and some how traded blows with the 3090 while being more efficient than the 3090 as well.
thats a bit of exaggeration. 6950xt is somewhat between 3080ti and 3090. 6900 is slightly above 3080
@@angeltensey Not an exaggeration.
@@GamerTagEquiflux i got them and i know it for sure
I'm glad I gave you a shot. I appreciate the quick headline runthroughs without too much fluff. Thanks.
I can't wait to see if Microsoft will extend the support for Windows 10 or if people will flock to Linux. The only thing that is certain is that Windows 11 will not become popular.
I know I’m very much considering a dual boot system at the least… Mainly cuz I know Proton doesn’t work for every game on steam
I don't foresee a majority suddenly looking into installing a Linux distro instead of Win 11(or 12/whatever is next).
But we shall see.
Flock to linux? Nah most people go back to win 10. Hence win 10 share end up growing. This happen pretty much every time. Going back to xp from vista. Going back to 7 from 8. Most people do this rather than go to linux.
Guys calm down, I was just trying to be funny.
@@Vecha302 linux...its quite inconvenient when it comes to something more complex than daily driving. and im talking about well-supported distros like ubuntu (and variants), RHEL stuff and mint. other distros are just a big swamp of struggle for a pc/mac user. wanna some high-quality tears? ask any linux user what's up with their wi-fi
Had a 6950xt for almost 2 years, loved it. Very strong card and bought it for only 650 euros new. Now I'm on NVIDIA, since I got a great deal on a 4080. I'll buy whatever is better for me. And i know it's better for the market if AMD launches a good competing GPU.
1:38 this reminds me of the Iphone 4 release by Steve Jobs where loading a webpage failed and Jobs told the audience that if they wanted to see the demo they had to turn off all of their devices.
He was holding it wrong
I have a 6800XT and I'm more than happy with it. There is nothing out on the market, that I can afford, worth getting a new one. So waiting for the 9000gpu series is not a big deal.
the "you fund discovery" shirt is dope
I’d love if they came out with another Fine Wine budget card like the RX 480/580 as a product of AMD’s refocus.
That's like asking AMD to purposely not optimize their driver from the get go so people feel their gpu get faster over time with driver updates.
I swear amd's GPU division works hard at coming in second place
14:44 its nice to see you understand the long game
nice video, which camera you use to record?
The open source AMD drivers for Linux have been developed by AMD itself for almost 10 years. So, I don't think that decisions are made by the community

Did Forspoken ever fix the PC wired controller drift problems?

Where my old Vega 56 is concerned... It kicked the crap out of my 3060ti in 1440p and 4K... Overall for video rendering and editing the 3060ti was better, but I was pretty unimpressed where game play was concerned.

Folding Ideas did a good video a while back on the people who are still all in on meme stocks to this day and what you described isn't that surprising. They're desperate for any sign that they can make their money back after missing the boat and are convinced people connected to the initial short squeeze are speaking to them in code. It's kind of depressing.
So, is that mean no 8900xt or 8900xtx model this year
Maybe going till 8800 xt on maximum?
@5:12, i dont use chat AI, because thats just giving ammunition to the enemy, i dont associate with AI at all if i can help it.
Did Battlemage GPU is also have the "Intel Baseline Profile"???
If they started from the ground up I surely hope they decided to double/quadruple the voltages so as to lower the heat issues they're experiencing or at minimum better power connectors at higher voltages and they do the conversion on the card itself.
Arnicius didn't have to write a whole essay yesterday damn 😭
I thought RDNA3 was "rough around the edges" early development. Turns out AMD has to reset it completely?
Good morning UFD Staff!
Gpt 4o is a beast, I had access yesterday.
As exciting as it is hearing about GPU leaks and yearning for exciting new possibilities, I think it always comes down to just waiting for benchmarks and independent reviewers for a card release. AMD has a long history of leaks making everything sound great, Nvidia has a new recent history of indicating massive performance increases that are actually just frame gen (which, improves visual smoothness at the expense of clarity and latency) rather than true performance.
I guess what I'm throwing out there is try not to get too excited about an upcoming video card generation from any company until we have hands on work on how they actually perform. I caution those super excited for Battlemage or RDNA4/5 or the RTX 5000 series as someone who has been let down many times before.
Also hey, if you can, waiting a few months for the inevitable AMD price correction usually results in you getting a heck of a deal at least lol.
Imagine a XPX 13 with that strixpoint Apu that performs on par with the 4070.

I'm curious if AMD could make a breakthrough like Nvidia in the days of SFX
Made with real bits of panther.
Ram amount for the apus in the handheld pc space is not an issue. Memory bandwidth is a pretty big issue they keep cranking cpu and gpu clock speeds and power draw, but very little performance boost and massive power draw. I believe we are at EOL of x86. Arm is the future due to its more efficient instruction sets and it not having the restrictions of x86 instructions
My next GPU will be AMD or Intell based, as I'm tired of buggy Nvidia drivers on Linux

Everyone should have a good cheese shredder, and FYI that is not only a cheese shredder, but a hard cheese, spice... grater, a slicer (nowhere near as good as a mandolin for that purpose) and in different grits! Since Windows 11 is really just a reskinned Windows 10 at its core, Windows 11 drivers work just fine on Windows 10 installs. I found this out when fresh installing 10 on my Asus G14 that only provided drivers for 11.
I believe Druid is what follows Celestial in Intels GPU lineup.
To be fair RDNA 2 was close enough to Ampere in raster, but like that is the only exception to the "It's will be good next time" rumour mill. Although I would argue that even though the Polaris didn't challenge the highend the GPUs that existed were good. Same thing could be the case for RDNA 4, not holding my breath, but it could be.
Windows 11 designers should use GPT 4o to help them feel like someone actually likes their work.
Also, don't forget AMC! They are overleveraed by shortsellers too, and they are up more than Gamestop, even.
8:20 Not a freaking chance in heck i would go to win 11 voluntarily, coercion is just going to root the stance further.

Relating to AI, I use it for learning. Not exclusively as it has been wrong a lot in analytical and mathematical sciences (I study chemistry) but for overarching concepts and just paraphrasing something that a textbook might not be very clear on (such as FTIR and Raman, or character tables, symmetry modes, projection and Ψ expectation values) it's simply amazing.
It won't do the math for you - at least you shouldn't let it since there's a real good chance it's going to be wrong, but if you're just looking to understand something (and not have it be done for you) then it's an amazing tool and helped me pull an A on courses I would've almost failed otherwise.
Its potential is huge, but it's all too easy to deliberately use it wrong and learn nothing...
Square Enix should have done this a long time ago...
1:12 someone needs to use Udio and make a "keep on gen'n in the free world" song or something.
With AMD, would the 8700G be a good cpu to get if im not planning on getting a gpu right away? I love that this is the first time a major company has released a Mac App before a Windows App. haha. Thanks OpenAI! :) Also, just my take, but I actually like Windows 11 more than 10. So I don't mind the switch. I'm already there on my work laptop. haha.
Watching AMD vs Nvidia is basically Nerd football.
Where do you guys go for your Hot News gaming News?
AMD and Nvidia colluding to price Intel out of the GPU market is interesting to see. Nvidia will make an ARM based processor to compete with Apples
The Daddy Reece transition was WILD
Nobody in their right mind is "switching" from Win10 to Win11. The only Win11 sales they have is new machines. And some of those get wiped and have WIn10 put on them. I know, I've done it for people myself.
It was obvious Humane Pin and Rabbit R1 were going to be obsolete within the year but it happened a lot faster than I expected. I mean LTT's R1 unboxing isn't even a week old and now the device is completely pointless.
It’s probably gonna have an OLED panel because OLED are much thinner than LCDs and that’s how they’re getting that bigger battery in there
YES! A DELL XPS WITH AMD, WE HAVE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS!
I totally understand to be skeptical of OpenAI or frankly any other company based on whatever... but just as you said, not that I even noticed anything hardwired, but as someone who has worked in tech and at a startup, live demos are the bane of our existence and if you don't pre-record a demo and are relying on the internet (wired or wireless) you are asking for your demo to flop - even if the same exact steps would work otherwise!
One devils advocate thought:
What if AMD is working on some kit of "secret sauce" where AMD CPUs with the newer integrated graphics augment the performance of AMD GPUs in the future?
While I don't think that is what is going to happen: it could be an interesting possibility.
AMD is bringing at most 7900XT performance to midrange this year, so at least there is that. RDNA5 will be interesting seeing as they have also redesigned the raytracing pipeline. Yes they canceled High end RDNA 4 but that thing would have been ridiculous it would have been a true MCM design and cost more than I think we as AMD fans would have been willing to pay for it with the software stack in its current iteration, i.e., Upscaling not being on par with Nividia's DLSS or even Intel's XESS.
these videos have made me start waking up early and having a good sleep schedule. thanks lmfao
Brettfast of champions!
Windows 10 was reported to sell more than 11. So they really need to do something with 11. Like change a lot of it back to the way 10 looked and worked.
Never used it.
Thank you for not having your mouth gaping open on the thumbnail. I hope that's soon a thing of the past.
I have had no legitimate reason to use any kind of chat bot other than just out of shear curiosity. I believe I asked Gemini a question and had it read the answer to me out loud while I continued working. The information I asked it was not related to the task I was doing, it was just a historical question but it was still nice to have it read to me.
I am thinking about going back to windows 7! I have a free physical copy
I was planning to get new pc around 2026 and since NVIDIA isn't for people like me anyway (not upgrading every 2nd gen.) that are great news for me, who knows maybe Intel surprise us with some great GPU :D
So now what am I supposed to do as a 7900 XTX owner? I feel like I got seriously jipped. RDNA 4 isn't going to get the proper support it needs? Hardware bugs? I feel like I just lose.
Built From The Ground Up?
Yeah this GPU bouta be hot cheeks then.
Good on you for calling out AMD GPU vaporware. I am a happy owner of a 7900XT, but it would be nice to have a competitive option on the highest end. Nvidia charges what they do because they can.
hopefully amd will make tile gpus work as well as they managed to get cpus working
Nvidia might just leave desktop market completely and focus on server stuff
I'll believe it when I see the performance. This happens everytime AMD releases RNDA N+1. If they have the performance and the driver support this round, I'll happily switch.
I dont like the notion that AMD couldnt have been competitive already. They just would need to adjust their prices to fit what they are offering. That already worked back in the RX580 days, despite way heavier driver issues and their excessive "fine wine" bs. What felt to many like AMD is literally doing Early Access for GPUs.
Not being as competitive as they could be is a conscious decision this company makes and tbh also made for the past few years. Its not just a meme that AMD is throwing every chance they have to gain more market share from Nvidia. At least that is something this company never disappointed us with.
They've needed to start over with GPUs (in particular GPGPU) as far back as 2008 when NVIDIA slapped them with a fancy new proprietary API called CUDA and monopolized the market ever since.
Performante? Do they think they are a Lamborghini Huracán supercar?
AMD is full of it. Way more people have stuck with Windows 10. I mained Windows 11 for quite a while, but it kept breaking things so I went back.
If i can get 4070 levels of performance for $300-$400 compared to $550 with amd then i’m gonna go amd
hope the 8000 and 9000 series balances not breaking the bank and good performance
Amd GPUs are great in rasterization, give more Vram, are cheaper, but what makes gamers go with Nvidia is RT performance. Nvidia is simply a more complete GPU, if AMD can equal Nvidia in RT, and keep all their other advantages, they will be back in the race.
I think AMD has realized they need to redesign the GPUs. Both Nvidia and Intel using specialized ray tracing hardware to beat AMD in ray tracing. AMD is putting specialized ray tracing hardware onto the PS5 APUs, probably as a test run, and then likely taking that tech to their discrete GPUs.
GameStop: "WE ARE SO BACK!"
I just think AMD needs new talent in their GPU division
they just need money... their investment in R&D in gpus is much lower than nvidia...
