Clarification: The Amazon Dash (button) was not discontinued due to babies and dogs getting their hands on them. My wording made that seem like the cause which it’s not😂 **more details below**
Like the Fire Phone there were multiple factors for the Amazon Dash getting discontinued… 1. German government ruled the buttons violated the country’s consumer protection laws 2. Amazon’s Echo/Alexa devices could do the same but through voice command making them obsolete 3. There were overall more efficient ways of reordering products that didn’t require buying individual physical buttons to do so
That wallpaper feature is pretty nifty. Wonder what else it was or could be used for. Bet some video calls would be pretty dope if it was developed on more.

The Amazon dash buttons were cool, I got a whole bunch of them for free and they came with a discount the first time you used them. I ordered like 30 different products. Just once.
I use the fire phone for developer purposes and I will say, it’s pretty impressive. Plus, it technically had 1MP higher on its back camera then the modern at time iPhone so.. points? Also, one big reason it was discontinued, worded from someone who worked on the phone at the time while it was being tested for release, was because developers didn’t take advantage of the cameras so its main feature became somewhat useless.
It was a complete non-starter for myself and many others because it ran Amazon's FIRE OS that's based on Android open source so lacks many of Google services and is otherwise just a fuct version of Android that Amazon skinned over. Someone gifted me an Amazon fire OS tablet at some point and hardware-wise it was a nice tablet, and it was fun to check it out but I didn't like fire OS. Used the gift receipt to return it and got a cheap touch screen windows tablet with a detachable keyboard, so it could do double duty is a really compact light duty laptop. That was much more useful to me at the time. The hardware on the tablet was really good though it had awesome speakers for a tablet.
I had one. It was the single oddest phone I've ever had. It watched you... it acknowledged you looking at it from 15 feet away, and tilted the image in your direction. Not to mention firefly
@@Jose_Sanchi actually this was on Amazon. They loaded their own App Store to make it their own. And it failed! My dad had one, I boot loaded the play store so he could download things like the Chevy app to control his truck.
W vid but heres a jam donut recipe Ingredients: - 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast - 1/4 cup warm water (about 110°F/45°C) - 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F/45°C) - 1/4 cup granulated sugar - 1 teaspoon salt - 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted - 1 large egg - 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - Vegetable oil for frying - Jam of your choice for filling - Powdered sugar for dusting Instructions: 1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. 2. In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm milk, sugar, salt, melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture. 3. Gradually add in the flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition, until a soft dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable. 4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface or using the dough hook attachment of your mixer for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size. 6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a round cookie cutter or glass to cut out circles of dough. 7. Place the dough circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover them with a clean kitchen towel, and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes. 8. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). 9. Carefully add a few doughnuts at a time to the hot oil, frying for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. 10. Remove the fried doughnuts using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. 11. Once the doughnuts have cooled slightly, use a piping bag or squeeze bottle to fill them with your favorite jam. 12. Dust the filled doughnuts with powdered sugar and serve warm. Enjoy your homemade jam-filled donuts!
