I'm actually laughing out loud that's awesome (the joke, not the reality :o )
The only thing I see Ai being useful for is having npc’s in video games having unique conversations and unique experiences.
Other than that all I see Ai doing is killing people’s jobs in call centers and data entry.
The real question is what rock are you hiding under considering AI will work in every industry and has a humanoid body and drives cars now.
Automation 40 years ago was promised to give us more free time, but in reality only lead to more productivity and higher profits.
The problem isn't automation or AI, it's having a society centered on profit for the wealthy few instead of quality of life for every one.
Judging by Google's AI release, I don't see it adding to gaming, but instead the NPC constantly referring to modern social issues in my game conversations even though the game is set on another planet.
All voice actors will be drastically reduced.

In 2025, there's no reason why a 1080p @120 should cost $1k. If that happens ima flip the table lol
1080p 120hz should be an entry level GPU. This should be the RTX 50 or 60 class and they should cost no more than £250 for the 60 class.
@sirdetmist3204 exactly, but by NVIDIA's standards AND current difficulties to play the past couple years of demanding games, I'm feeling pessimistic.
@@ArouzedLamp This is why companies shouldnt just be allowed to set whatever price they want. They price they can charge should be dictated by how much something costs to make.

13:25 - Brett, you're not the only one who would see the "ChatGPT ladened dating simulations" as a bad thing. Isaac Asimov's book series that focused on characters Elijah Baley and R. Daneel Olivaw delt with this very topic. One of the early worlds settled in that series had a societal shift where everyone shunned interpersonal interaction for that of self-contained rooms. It became so bad that no one was forming real relationships with each other and thus not having any more children. Even with tech, like artificial insemination, they couldn't be bothered to have more children and eventually died out.
Maybe Asimov saw our future when he wrote that.
When have you ever made a phone call and been happy to talk to a robot?
Never
As someone who worked in IT Service Desk for 19 years before moving to another position in the same company, If there's a major outage, that's when I want a robot or recording telling me what's going on and an ETA, so I don't spend 30 to 60 minutes on hold. (I've delt with both sides of that call. It's no bueno.)
But, yeah, outside of that use case, I don't like talking to robots.
I liked it when secretaries tried to juggle 50 people waiting for someone so all you got was music and then a click when they accidentally dropped you, wouldnt it be great to do this with companies with thousands of people waiting? lolololol
meanwhile AI is already smarter than most humans so, pretty sure we want that in there if you have a problem now, problem is you havent been using actual AI until very recently and so you dont realize what you are really talking about
@@theendofthelineI rather wait for an actual flesh sentient human being to talk through problems in details

Whats the charge back fee for selling Kylers body to science? Would you go into debt selling it? Is the mustache enough to make you break even on the sale.
Man, the AMD naming scheme has gotten so complicated after the AM5. If F means no iGPU then why's there a SKU without any suffix which also doesn't have an iGPU (e.g. R5 5600) I think this was changed to showcase the iGPUs of the these processors. What do you think, Brett?
New to your channel. You guys kick ass. Appreciate the news, the deals, the humor and the delivery of it all. Keep up the great work. My Breakfast now turned Brettfast. Life just got better
"What are you gonna do? You're gonna switch to Linux?" Funny thing, I actually just switched completely to Kubuntu Linux one of my Windows 10 desktop computers, and I am watching on it your video as I configure it 🤗 It was because, when I booted up into it three hours ago, Windows greeted me with the message, "Your hardware doesn't support Windows 11, you are not special, and you have a year and a half to makes us happy by throwing in the trash this perfectly good PC." Honestly, it's not a big deal. If you don't play games on some particular machine, KDE is an instant replacement for Windows, and it works way faster.
Linux is awesome and you can game on it no problem (except for a handful of online shooters with kernel level anti-cheat software). After all, the Steam Deck is an incredibly popular gaming machine and it runs on Linux.
Ya a few weeks ago I went with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with Gnome Desktop I think runs a bit better than Kubuntu. It is too bad Kubuntu doesn't have Plasma 6 yet. a1rm4x channel he did a test with kubuntu and ubuntu; kubuntu had trouble in overwatch fps dipping low. I am happy anyways to get off of Windows to see how things work.
I just went back to archlinux with xfce yesterday. I installed steam and all my old favorite programs this morning and proceeded to play cyberpunk at 3840x1600 with ray tracing on at 70fps… you absolutely can game on Linux, and do it simply. I’m even using the proprietary nvidia drivers and have had exactly 0 issues other than my old Linux backup was 8 years old and everything had changed so most of my old configs needed to be adjusted.
One of us! One of us!
I switched 100% almost 7 years ago now. I'm a gamer and electrical engineer and do 100% of my stuff on linux.
(Straight debian stable is my choice, btw)
😆 did bro just say “maybe it’s Maybelline”
NVidia prices with no AMD - "Don't buy it" - Yeah, and we'll build a video portal from NY to Dublin IR and no one will abuse it. They did and they will. Gotta have! Same issue with games with ridiculous prices or microtransactions. Gotta collect them all!
It's completely self inflicted. I have no sympathy for all the Nvidia buyers that made 2000$ GPUs happen. I only regret that I won't have any top-tier choices for the next generation because AMD and Intel have both said they won't even try.
@@themomaw I mean, you can't blame all Nvidia users, I hate the fact that I have a 10GB VRAM, but as an exclusively AAA single player gamer, I value Ray tracing more than most people, and after my 6800XT died, and I was able to score a 3080 for $300, it was a fantastic option in terms of a replacement that gave me above 60 fps at 1440p with full RT in every game, which was NOT the case with the 6800XT. Though I will say, the 6800XT wasn't awful in terms of RT performance at 1080p. It was actually superb, and I only needed FSR if I wanted RT maxed out in cyberpunk, which I did, lol. So, while I understand the sentiment, Some of us need/want the best of the best, and at the end of the day, AMD has yet to outperform, or even match Nvidia at the high end. High-end NVIDIA cards like the 4080/4090 have more than enough VRAM, the full NVIDIA feature set (even though FSR is so close to DLSS) including frame gen without modding anything to get an inferior version of the technology and while they may be higher in price, they are quite simply the better product. Furthermore, the people to blame are out there, and they are the absolute morons who will NEVER go with AMD for no real reason whatsoever. The people who when you ask them why they won't consider AMD default to "Uhh AMD has been known to have driver issues" and don't have the amount of brain cells required to google "AMD VS NVIDIA price to performance" as people who just claim "AMD sucks" are the absolute scourge of the PC gaming community. Like, are you guys still living in the RX 470 days?
@@themomaw you regret not being able to make the mistake you mentioned?
@@theendoftheline The mistake being to pay 2000$ for a GPU? Not sure what you're talking about
@@themomaw you stated you wished you could buy a gpu at that tier level, instead of the tier levels that amd has available, the tier levels that were opened being in the 1500$ and above range, so yes, the mistake about paying 2000$ for a gpu, pretty equivalent to saying buying a gpu at that tier level

I used AI to remove the birds from a screenshot of The Birds with people running away from the birds and superimposed Godzilla into the background.
Thought on iGPU’s. I really love them. I think they are going to be one of the biggest performance improvement categories in the next 5 years. With higher clock memory CAMM2 RAM (a form of that might come to desktops) I think we are going to see a renaissance of inexpensive computers for entry level gamers! Especially if we start aggressively switching to arm or risc-v. I’m going out on a limb here but I feel like we might not really have a need for dGPUs for the average gamer here in a few years.
I detect plenty of sarcasm in this episode. Maybe I missed it before but it's nice. Good morning good sirs
The fact its taken this long for thunderbolt to have peer to peer connection is ridiculous. I remember the first time i saw a male to male usb i immediately tried it between two computers. Glad we finally can see it happen.

They made two different movies about simps falling for an AI female voice. First one was called "Her" staring Joaquin Phoenix. The other movie is called "Jexi" staring Adam Devine (from Workaholics). I enjoyed both of them but "Jexi" was a bit more dark comedy based so I enjoyed that a bit more.
The largest issue I see with AI is that we're already living out the process that leads to Idiocracy and now people can do even less and put less effort into learning things because why bother when AI can give you all the answers!? This will speed up the dumbing down of society hands down.

And about the Ryzen CPUs. Will there be a reduction in prices on the other AMD CPUs? I'm looking to build myself a new PC this summer with a ryzen 7600 to get on the AM5 platform without breaking the bank and getting good value.
My old system will turn 10 this Christmas and has earned it's retirement as a secondary storage unit after a decade of use. It served well.
ah yes, NVidia - passing the cost of hubris onto the consumer.
I’m looking forward to the RTX 5060 with 4GB of VRAM at $750 for those affordable ‘entry level’ builds.

Google just needs to bring back Reader and call it a day.
You said “Nobody wants to buy a MacBook” And it reminds me of our modern era ARMs race. I’m excited for these new Snapdragon ARM developments and laptops because of the performance to efficiency ratio that they get. Let’s hope their innovation can trickle down to creating a platform similar to building an x86 based pc, instead of everything being soldered on to the board.
I'm not excited at all. The thing that let Apple painlessly switch to ARM architecture was the Rosetta translation layer, and by all accounts Windows' equivalent of that is much slower.
H100 was around 40k per so I the fact that the B100 is actually a little cheaper is interesting if those prices are correct. 60-70k for 2 B100's + CPU is actually a decent deal in that context.
Incorrect the H100 costs 60k on ebay and prices keep staying around the same amount. still to this day. For the 80gig the B200 and b100 are around 120gigs of memory not 80.
I love the universal F marketing for no integrated graphics very pro consumer I wish this was done more often
Bret google glass is still being used but in factories for commercial use only
the best part of low end cpu's being so powerful and cheap is that there is no reason to get a mid or high tier unless you are doing anything other than gaming, if you are just gaming then the low end cpus are so effiecent in terms of $/performance
Mark my words, the new Snapdragon Dell XPS laptops will still cost the same as what they are now.
The "F" stands for "press F to pay respects to the iGPU that died on that chip" :D
Budget AM5 CPUs are pointless when the motherboards and RAM are so expensive.
I agree, especially with am4 still being the power house it is.
Heyyy. Leave CS6 Adobe Illustrator logo alone 😂
Maybe it's Maybelline! Gosh, Bret, haven't heard that one in a quarter of a century?
What bugs me is that I can't really seem to see where any kind of machine learning/AI is being used in those google examples. I know there's SOME there, but I can't help but feel like we've had these features for years like with the features in google lens or search results giving you locations/recommendations based on reviews.
There are a lot of them. But maybe it's because google has been using machine learning for its stuff for many years now? Language translations is one of the older examples.

The PC Building community's lack of acceptance and adoption of Linux baffles me. Getting good at Linux is the same tinkerer spirit as getting good at building PCs but just applied to software. Whaddya gonna do switch to Linux? Yes! trust me you can do it. I made the switch years ago in my late teens. My technical proficiency skyrocketed. I wouldnt be able to get the jobs in tech, that I've gotten, without Linux proficiency. Its not that bad. Especially nowadays. Back in the Slackware days it was no joke.
It’s not about getting good at Linux. It’s that Linux is dog shit for gaming compatability. If games would just run after you install them instead of going through hoops (only for it to not work anyways), then so many gamers would gladly jump to Linux.
I been playin modded Elden ring so long I forgot it’s capped at 60 by default 😂❤

I dont mind if Google wants to push into AI, but I hate when they don't let you opt out of things. Google making it so you had to use tab groups on Android is why I swapped to Firefox. Them making it so that even if you go to the Labs and have everything AI turned to off still results in you getting generative AI responses to your searches by default is why I've swapped my default search engine off of Google. I dont care if these features exist, but I don't want to use them. And if the only way to not use them is to avoid using the rest of the service as well, then that's what I wind up doing.
You can choose to look at it this way. If GB100 is $70k, GB102 at $3,500 would be only 5% of it.
the gb202 is the consumer model, and its price will probably be completely arbitrary in relation to GB100 as its a different chip in a different market, zero relationship between the prices.

I'm pretty happy with my Asus ROG RTX 3090 White Edition. Performs great, looks great, and its pretty quiet. I got it for a pretty good deal in the beginning of 2023. I paid $500 for it second hand from someone who was just looking to get rid of it asap. I wouldn't might getting a 7900 XTX since it is about 25% faster in non-RT stuff and most of the games I play don't really have RT enabled at all or its not even noticeable. But I'm not looking to spend $900+ for a 25% boost in performance yet. I may pick one up second hand in a year or two if I can get one for $600 or less. Though, the Hellhound Spectral version of the 7900 XTX from Powercolor looks mighty fine. White shroud, white pcb and white I/O cover. 👀💦
