A few products from this review were sent to me by Banggood for testing.
This does not mean that I do get all my products. I review also a lot of products I bought myself.
I started these reviews because from my experience not every tool from China was worth buying. So I wanted to make in-depth reviews to show you which products you should consider and which product you better leave alone. The fact that Banggood sent me products occasionally does not change the way I make my reviews. I still give in-depth reviews and give you my honest opinion!
On this, you can count on!
I have a good experience with Banggood.com and they have a lot of woodworking tools nicely organized on their site.

I just discovered your channel and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve been a woodworker for 40+ years, never really took Chinese tools seriously. But I was very impressed with the corner clamps and the 45 & 90 squares. Great value for money. Keep making these great videos!

I liked all of your China Tools videos - very fair and balanced.
One additional thing about the angle finder - I am on my second one from Wixey - the first (from around 2000) used a 2032 coin cell and whenever the battery failed it caused a period of no use followed by a trip to the store. The second one I purchased when Wixey changed their design to use a much more standard and available AAA battery. I always have these around for replacement. I purchased the second one just because of the more available battery.

I have had a digital angle meter for a few years and find it an excellent tool for setting up my saws and also measuring angles for general carpentry. I think you are being a bit overly worried about the accuracy. I don't believe that many woodworkers are measuring angles to an accuracy of 0.1 degrees.

Hi Michael, Good to hear. I hope you like the T-ruler as much as I do. What I like compared to the Incra that you have longer holes. and if you want to mark a line, the line is better visible. Incra has bigger numbers. Both are good.

  • @timothylarson3583
    @timothylarson3583 Před 3 lety +5

I just ordered the stainless steel angle meter. I needed one with flat sides and no magnets on at least one of the edges. I use this to set the height of the rakers to 6 degrees when sharpening my chain saw blades. I have to be careful with the current meter I have, as the magnets can pull up the links giving an incorrect reading. This method produces a better cutting chain over a traditional depth gauge.

Excellent as always. I recently received a set of the New brand dog hole table clamps which are a clone... If not made in the same factory... As the Festool dog hole table clamps. The quality and build is so much more than I expected and at only $37 ($30 with the 11/11 sale) for a set of 2 vs $125 or more (depending on vendor) for the Festool clamps... It's a no brainier. I'll definitely be interested in more from this brand.

Good to see that there are other choices for tools but the problem I have with the Banggood tools that have scales on them is that they don't seem to have imperial measurements only. Man, these Woodpecker knockoff tools don't even change the anodization color.

    • @tomaseklund2299

I'm glad there are knockoff tools. Woodpeckers OneTIME Tool concept is frustrating and borderline insulting to consumers. I want a rounding jig now, not in two or thee (or many never) years time. For the price Woodpeckers are asking I think they really could manufacture more than just to order and keep a steady stock. I wouldn't mind paying the premium price they are asking for "original" tools, I just can't have the uncertainty and waiting times they are asking too.
Regarding the color, I agree. That makes these knockoffs look more expensive than they are.

you both have points although red anodized aluminum isn’t proprietary. I actually keep all my wood working accessories red when I can just for easy storage and when my less than carpentry inclined assistant is asked to fetch me a tool, starting off with (it is red) is handy. Also the red or yellow adds a little in the safety factor. meaning if it is red or yellow in my shop, it isn’t permanent or part of the main tool and could be a hazard.

i forgot to mention in the SE Asian market, you can get the tools in anodized red, blue, yellow, black or just natural aluminum color.

The problem appears to be availability at the moment (2023). My various tools have been on order from Banggood for over 3 months now with no sign that they will ship any time soon. The only one that has arrived is the pocket hole jig. So if you need to get on with things check stock before ordering.

Another really interesting video, thank you! The clamps you use at 2:30, are they a bang good item too? I see the kreg ones that are similar (and hideously expensive). Keep it up! FYI a few of your "clamps" links in the description go to 404 pages.

Hi Adam, Yes, that are these www.banggood.com/MYTEC-MC-010102-C-Type-D-type-Crimping-Pliers-Square-Mouth-Rubber-Handle-Woodworking-Fast-Pliers-p-1193190.html?rmmds=myorder
I tried ti buy some kreg ones, but they where not in stock. I wanted to compare them. They work so far. The principle of these clamps are nice, but they do not feel like very high quality, That is the reason I want to buy one kreg to see, if this is due of the construction or that these are just of a bit lower quality.

Hi Dennis, absolutely love the videos and purchased a few Chinese tools off the back of your recommendations. I'm asking the question here as it's your most recent post but it's not related to the Chinese tools video. Can you tell me what is the over-all size of your workshop?

What’s wrong with your Woodpecker product?

      @Mike--K Před 3 lety

@@hanskutube Hans, there's nothing wrong with them, and I have lots of Woodpeckers tools. The set of eight Woodpeckers 170mm clamps cost US$ 410, plus the extra cost of shipping. Compared with a set of the eight Banggood 140mm clamps for US$ 166, and free shipping, the choice is easy. :-)
The Woodpeckers clamps are great and I've used them on every drawer and cabinet project in the past year. At the time, they were available and I couldn't find any suitable alternatives. However, all things being equal now, I would prefer to spend less than half on the Banggood clamps.

Hey Dennis, been trying to get the small square din875/0 but all i can fi d is grade 2 or unmarked which worries me. Even your link to it was diverted to an unmarked square. Thanks for your china took reviews mate. Ive bought several tools on them and quite happy

Hi Needaman, Good that you mention this. The link is from the product I bought. You see in the description that it is quality grade 0.
If you look at some pictures with the reviews of this article, you see they all have the marks. But,, you right that it would be better if they also ad some pictures of these marks with it.
When I bought I did not know that there would be marks on it. I do also not know if they all come with marks. Only thing I can tell you, that the link is right.
      Thanks

Dennis...With regard to your comments regarding the error of the digital angle meters,
I personally have not used one, however based on your comments I am assuming that they can be "Zero Set" prior to use?
If they cannot be zero set...Did you consider that the instrument may be reading an absolute measurement?
By that I mean; is that your precision square for example, rests on the surface of your sawbench table when used to measure the angle of your saw blade.
If your saw bench table was not perfectly level...wouldn't the error show up on the digital instrument?

Look at the sizes. They all have the dimensions on there pages. So compare with what you use now. I do not have any difficulties with the Banggood T-Tracks. Although I use them now from Incra, but that is only because I like the color and it match with my INCRA equipment. But further than that, In my opinion, they are all the same.

And I get the message about delivery when it's there. Last time I was away for christmas, so I was lucky the item still was there. I think it's something called migyston they use, maybe that is some local thing?
