    A few products from this review were sent to me by Banggood for testing.
    This does not mean that I do get all my products. I review also a lot of products I bought myself.
    I started these reviews because from my experience not every tool from China was worth buying. So I wanted to make in-depth reviews to show you which products you should consider and which product you better leave alone. The fact that Banggood sent me products occasionally does not change the way I make my reviews. I still give in-depth reviews and give you my honest opinion!
    On this, you can count on!
    I have a good experience with Banggood.com and they have a lot of woodworking tools nicely organized on their site.

    Yet another great video. Since getting my dowling jigs, I have made a 5mm drill holder from brass to slide into the 8mm bush. It is only half successful as the bushes are very hard and the brass soft. Now you have pointed out the 5mm bushs are available.
    The edge trimmer looks very interesting, it is like my old wood Radi-Plane made in California. The only thing with my old plane is that they have two blades in tandem, one behind the other. The first takes a ruff cut, the second a finished cut. What I like about the plane you reviewed is the cutter and cutter setting. Looks very good.
    Bedankt.

    Hi Dennis. Thanks for another excellent review. The doweling jig from your last review just arrived and the roundover plane is on its way. Looking back at 30 years being self employed as a cabinet maker its unbelievable with what kind of tools we had to make due. Those quality items were just out of reach at a budget. The only problem now is that we all overspend on really nice tools we might need once a year to play around with. I might have to start my own youtube channel now which will be called "Hooked on Dennis" offering help and support to people like myself spending way too much money on tools they might never need! Keep up the great work and we all can't wait for a video of your new shop!

    Thanks Dennis, A great video again, I'm sorry to say i do have the woodpeckers version of this plane and it does work great, but i like the way you can change out the different blades so easily compared to woodpeckers plane. my plane is much more intense to change from the round over to a chamfer blade and with yours you don't need to you have the best of both worlds in one! the new lock system and the depth scale adjustment is a winner and the price do i need to say anymore .

    Thanks Dennis. I am definitely a fan of Woodpeckers tools, but some of them are must haves while others are harder to justify. In this case, it looks like the Hongdui is a far superior product to them. It is much easier to change blades with and the ability to have two different blade types available in one plane body is a benefit. Also, I really like the ability to use off the shelf cutter blades. Thanks for the review...I had passed on the Woodpecker version, but this Hongdui corner plane looks compelling.

    I have two edge planes from Woodpeckers and I quickly realised that for consistent depth on different pieces some kind of scale is necessary. I ended up making a mark on the dial and the plane. Now I'm able to do deeper chamfers. Still it seems like this black one is a better tool.

    Hi Dennis, I just wanted to thank you for making this series. Beyond the excellent information and consumer advice, I think you are performing a larger service. My partner and her family are Chinese, and they face a huge amount of casual racism and negative stereotypes. In the woodworking community this exists too, with chinese made things having all kinds of negative connotations, despite the fact we use a huge number of techniques and tools that originated in chinese carpentry.
    Thank you for giving these tools fair reviews, and showing that there are in fact numerous excellent tools being made there, with attention being given to detail and quality. Small things like this can gradually change people's views and prejudices.

    I just received my Woodpecker version (I also ordered extra blades with different profiles) and so far I really like it. However; changing blades is a bit of a faf. I'm hoping I don't need to do that that often. What I do really like about the Woodpecker version; you can easily resharpen the blades. For my DIY work that may not be that big of an advantage.

    Hey! Could you do a review on GanWei Palm Trim Router. It is like a festool domino but you can put your palm router into it. Thanks in advance and love your videos.

    Can you adjust the table saw miter gauge easily if it is not perpendicular to the table. The Incra version allows for adjustment. Thanks for a great series on China tools...

      I'm in the US and have ordered from Banggood many, many times. Not one problem with delivery, except for damage of one item years ago.

      The 150 is only for Europe. Import duties changed recently. But thanks for your comments

    Also, the 5mm bushing means you can use self-cutting cam dowels directly without using those plastic inserts.

    Hi Dennis enjoy your channel … have you reviewed the Ganwei quick release clamps? They look pretty handy but wonder if they will destroy the integrity/accuracy of the bench dog holes? Thanks for your really informative content Michael

    • @HookedonWood
      @HookedonWood  Před 2 lety

      Hi Michael, I have to test them a bit, but you have a good point. This is also a concern for me. I have a relatively thin top of 19mm and my holes are made accurate so I can use them to align pieces. However, I do hardly use it that way. But you also have workbenches with thicker table tops. I have to test how this works in those holes. These clamps do make your holes a bit wider because the sides has a structure. I like how easy these clamps work, but when you have a very accurate table top and use the dogholes to align pieces, I would be careful with them.

    Thanks for the great and inspiring video Dennis! How long does delivery take on average? My experience so far is that some goods can take up to months. Also, I heard that import regulations have changed and that additional taxes and delivery costs are added when ordering in the Netherlands, is that correct?

    • @HookedonWood
      @HookedonWood  Před 2 lety +1

      On average about two weeks. But this product is now out of stock. So, I do not know when stock is available again. But they normally inform you about that. About import regulations. Prices include tax. If you keep your orders under 150 euro, you should not get extra costs.

    Hallo helemaal uit Den Haag. Ik kon deze pagina nog niet, maar dit was iets wat mijn oog trok.ik had nog nooit van dit merk gehoord, maar is zeker iets waar ik me verder in ga verdiepen. We zijn het eens over woodpecker, mooi en kwaliteit. Maar zeer zeker prijzig. En als ik nog prof was had het zich terug betaald. Maar nu als hobbyist is dit een top vervanging.

    Hi, would you personally use these rods/fittings (1.53) from banggood for customers cupboard making?
