Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

But completely understand Portugal...undeniable..it is a lovely country. KNOW many who moved there even from the USA..and that myself would chose if younger...

@@jothankyou2 as much as it's exciting to know people's plans on this topic, I used to be the same, it was pointed out to me why this is an inappropriate question to ask someone. For eg if someone really wanted children but were unable to, or had suffered miscarriage, it could be a very sad or uncomfortable thing for them to answer

They truly are the ultimate couples goals, because they both treat each other with such compassion and respect and I agree, he is incredibly supportive of her and her mental health. It actually gives me so much hope that some day my daughter, who has PTSD & Anxiety might be lucky enough to have such a loving and supportive life partner.
As most always with your videos I had fun on your memory lane. Iâm glad and hopeful hearing about Beeâs progress. Life is a rollercoaster. Looking forward to your holiday home. My parents moved us into their new house below a lighthouse before Christmas. Mom spent hours chipping mortar off bricks salvaged from entrance room to the lighthouse for their entry floor and fireplace. The bricks had been ship ballast coming around Horn then up West Coast of US in 1800s. Thanks again for being a bright part of my week.

Rosie Radcliffe -- Yes! Self care is so important. I went to docs for help, did not get it per se (a bit here & there kind of stuff) but stumbled onto it going through a really horrible experience & wow! how that helps in coping. Also, finding solutions to problems, if one can or having an outlook to a solution....that is what helped me from the edge.

I so agree! Most of my family has found the missing chemicals their brain needs to function in a normal way. I look at it as if we have say, diabetes and we need insulin. No shame in that!!

The Focus on mental healthcare is so important, especially during these times when so many are suffering. The more we focus on the connection between our mental and physical health the more normalized seeking mental health support will become!
Mental health issues are no different then any other health issues and just like any other on-going but intermittent issue, there are waves of good/so-so and bad days. Bea is answerable to no one but herself and owes none of us anything. The only I can do is to send her comforting energies and unconditional love.
My son is having a really hard time right now as well and I am so thankful that Bee has you and that you stay right by her side through all things. We were moving from our home he grew up in and he is so unhappy that he continues to want to stay in the other home without us. Heâs 20 and can do that easily but heâs just not well and I feel like he will be much more isolated there since we are trying to fix this place and live here near the coast where we retired to live. Iâm thankful you shared Bees situation somewhat because I completely understand. I think I should go back to our old house and stay with our son until he is better. At least get things into place for proper care and see this through with him. Thank you for sharing this video. Praying for Bee and you and your family. It is hard when a loved one has become unwell. When you first took over the vlog commentary from Bea I thought it was a little stilted but with time or familiarity I'm no longer of that opinion, I now really enjoy listening to the cadence of your voice. Glad to hear she is feeling a bit better. Depression is hard to kick, I managed to hold out through all of 2020 but when this year came around I found it harder and harder to stay out of it. Fortunately I haven't hit my lowest point yet, I'm still having occasional good days, but it will be awhile I think before I can pull myself out of this one. I'm going on vacation in a couple weeks to spend some time near the beach, I'm hoping that will perk me up enough that I might finally kick this bout of depression. I do really love sleeping with the sound of the waves and smelling the sea breeze and its been about 5 years since I've been to the ocean.

Smashing video Theo, I'm pleased to hear that Bee continues to make progress, I have suffered with depression on and off for years and have had needed crisis intervention at times, its a very scary place to be, when you find yourself there, and scary watching someone you love deeply go through that. It's hard to know what you can do to help, sometimes it's just being there and being able to listen. It can be very hard to talk about because it's so so scary and yes because of the stigma too, we need to breakdown the stigma and get everyone talking (when they're ready).

Suermis 1963, thank you for sharing and being open about mental health. The pandemic certainly has added the struggles of maintaining a healthy mental perspective. It has actually brought on a lot of sadness that I have not had to deal with in such depth. Lots of tears that come when unexpected. The individual search to make connections through the internet, through supportive mental health video's, motivational video's, being careful to NOT watch certain programs or too much news/media....watching the Indie Project videos (wink, wink) and reading the comments on this channel are all small ways to reach out to help oneself get out of the dark place .. I agree with Theo, it is quite a long process and different for everyone. The professional help I have hired was done virtually....there are ways ... working on being in the moment and looking at what is immediately around you and having thoughts of what is going well in the moment is one strategy learned....it is all work and commitment...things can get better...we are all in this together. Please beware that your statement "everything happens for a reason" can be very dismissive. There are many losses, struggles, terrible circumstances that ARE NOT part of some grand plan to torture us to help us learn etc. At least I do not believe in a sadistic God.

Yes with Bee slowly does it , my wife had breakdown 25 years ago it took about a year to get her back as she was but things knock back so all you can do is be there show her you love her as much as you can. It felt like I had a big weight lifted off my shoulders as we had 3 children, 2 older ones great they understood young one was about 7 or 8 it was hard but we are still together loving each other. All our very best wishes to you both. đđđ„

My wife has suffered for many years and even today we still find a lack of understanding and resources in mental health issues.
It can be so personal and specific, its painful and very difficult to articulate in ways that people that haven't been around it can comprehend.
But, as with many things, the more its discussed the better society is equipped to support it.

So pleased that Bea is on the mend, give her our love. Good to hear that you are a Villa supported, as I am. Quite unusual for a South Brummie to support the Villa. Enjoyed the drive around the City I havenât been back there for years now so it will have changed immensely. I grew up in Perry Barr during the 60âs and 70âs and my wife is from Erdiington.
Haha I was a Villa fan too. Birmingham looks lovely in Theoâs tour, it is now officially a minority majority city along with Luton, Leicester, Slough and London!

Busy with your video making and Q&A segment....neat idea...Certainly the stories told in this vid show the interesting journey you had individually and then together. It brings reflection on ones own life journey. If one stops to think about it, what a delicious journey each of us have had....the "who knew our lives would have turned out the way they did" đ€ question was at the forefront from your video. As for Mental Health....yes, the stigma doesn't help. Osaka, the female tennis player as of recent, is doing a heroicđ job in highlighting the mental health issue and how it needs to be better understood by everyone. Theo, so pleased you are feeling better because Bea is feeling better. What a worry for you.đ And your honestly about how ones partners emotions can put on another is so true. This means you have had to deal with your own mental health balancing regulating strategies. I'm an American abroad in Germany. I love exploring new places. It was quite a shock to move cultures and figure out how to fit in. I had quite a dark time. This is the first time I've seen your channel. So clearly no clue really who Bee is. Also no judgement intended what so ever. My sympathies as it is so wonderful to explore but can be hard. All the best to both of you and good on you for making sure she got the right help.

I have had a long road dealing with mental illness. I have a mild case of bi- polar disorder. Plus, I have panic attacks with anxiety. So I can only imagine what Bee is dealing with. Please know that I understand the situation and frustrations she is dealing with. Mental health is very important, and I feel that it's not a bad thing at all. One way to get through it is to do exactly what you've been doing for her. Stay strong and know that so many people deal with these types of issues. I hope Bee gets better soon. We miss her and I will continue to pray for her. God bless you both and know that you are loved by many people around the world.
