Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

School started where I live in America, most kids are not wearing masks; I make my kids wear them. So far, high school, 3 reported cases and elm. only 5 reported cases. It's unwise to release your pets in unfamiliar places because neighbors usually have their own pets who are the "alpha's" in that zone, its their territory this applies to male cats/dogs which can lead to fights and your pet runs away from home scared or chasing the others away and get lost in the process!
Anyone that complains that the content is lacking on this/any video (oh you aren't building, oh you aren't travelling... etc..) ignore them, I very much enjoyed this video and all of your videos

It’s amazing that your folks are so amazing and supportive of the both of you. It’s clear they have your best interests at heart. Many parents are risk averse and would never support their child (adult) going on big adventures and living life to the fullest. Much love to them as they seem like the kind of parents we all dream of.

I really miss the lovely Bee. She has worked so hard for so long she needs a really good rest and be surrounded by a loving family and professional help. I believe in the power of prayer and I include her in my list of people who are so much in need.

I'm under professional care and while drugs don't work for me my morning routine meditation, prayer walks, diet and support animal have got me feeling much better! My heart goes out to Bea, her smile and positive supportive attitude has helped me through the many dark days!

@@module79l28 I have a beautiful male cat… people call him a ‘she or her’ all the time… they can’t help themselves… I stopped correcting them. I just continue to refer to ‘he or him. They correct and next thing it’s back to her, LOL.

Try Fernando on a dog leash when you go into the garden till he's settled. The leash that fits around their back and under their legs. By doing that you have control and he's getting the fresh air he needs.
That's what I was going to suggest, too.
I was also going to suggest that. We rescued a feral Spanish cat 7 years ago . We taught him to walk on a harness and he lived in the motorhome, travelling, full time until a couple of years ago. We have sold the motorhome now but when we take him away from home now we still take him out on the lead. He is used to it and accepts it quite happily. Just have a really long lease so that Fernando can travel round the whole garden.
They make cat harnesses like dog ones. Cheap help to potentially save his life.

I really enjoyed seeing once again how creative you are. I was wondering what you would be filming in quarantine, but I joined the Indie Projects when you were in lockdown in the UK before. I hope your trip was/is wonderful and relaxing. You deserve to have a break. It was also lovely to see Bee in the "vintage" vanlife footage.

Oh Theo you finally look rested. Working seven days a week for a prolong period is never good for anyone. I hope you get the rest you so much deserve and that bea gets the help she needs.
Cats on halters can be a safe alternative to roaming, especially near dangerous traffic. What a beautiful garden!

Might be good to train Fernando to wear a cat harness, then you could take him on walks. Start by putting him in the harness inside, without a lead. Just let him walk around in it a couple of times a days. Then when he gets used to it attach a lead. After he is used to that too, take him in the garden for short periods. He will hopefully be too interested in his outside surroundings to care about the lead. It would be good training for him for future trips you might take him on.
Also, have you ever thought about taking him on short trips in the car when you get home. To get him used to traveling? Not in a crate as they can be quite stressful. Just free in the car? Might need a second person to keep him under control. You could start off by putting him in a running car thats not moving now and then.
Good tips. Worked for my sister's 2 cats. They love going on walks now. Just takes a bit of training, as you say xx
I was thinking of the same thing....harnesses for cats is what we call them here in Canada. Peace of mind is priceless if Fernando would take to it :)
Walked my Jericho on a halter most of his life. He was trained to walk through diesel stops with loud vehicles rumbling around him..he was unphased by them through out his trips. We used a feathery toy on a string to encourage him to walk forward when he wanted to stop , drop and roll out of his halter..I love this idea for Fernando..he has the same spottings as my Jericho had and It exhausted his curiosities ..
@@MegsCarpentry-lovedogs We call them harnesses in England too. I just have horses who have halters, so I say it out of habit. I should change that, harness sounds better 😊
Just make sure it is well fitting; some styles fit better than others. :D

As far as I’m concerned, you never need to apologize. Your vids are always interesting, and I’ve learned so much about van life, international travel, building, baking in a van even! Looking forward to seeing the scotland trip, I have not travelled all over like you, but I have been to Orkney and a lot of the other Scottish islands. Enjoyed seeing your clips from your old van and travelling-I have been watching for quite awhile but not that far back. I might go back and watch.

Your parent's garden is so beautiful! I'm not going to lie, we're in Andalucia and it's ridiculously hot right now and am envying your cooler weather. I'm so happy Bee is going to get the help she needs now and it was lovely to see clips of her on your old trips, which I'm now going to have too binge watch as it looks amazing. Because we live in Spain I've only been following you since your Portugal adventures, yet I followed Eamon and Bec's van adventures, as I love following CZcamsr's van life adventures.
