Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

Here in Québec, DOT inspection stations are NOT allowed to do anything other than the inspection.
They are forbidden to make any repairs. It's a conflict of interest and I'm good with that.
Makes sense some funny rules here 😅
It's like that is the UK for anything 7.5 tonne and above , and you can choose to go to a government test centre , they don't do repairs ,
Yes, same thing in US in NJ. Inspection stations totally separate. At least that's a good thing.

@@Naplesfrank154 I don't think she's ready and we need to wait until she is. I think she felt some pain, possibly from negative comments here on the channel and was hurt deeply. I could be way off too. Theo is doing a great job keeping the channel going when it is obviously very stressful for him to do that and watch his love suffer as well. I think it was great to see and hear her and when she is ready, she will be back. Depression is a difficult disease that I suffered when I was in my 30's. I'm 65 now and happy as can be. There is hope for us all if we work for it.

Oh how true this is...myself lived through thick and thin with my beloved husband for 51 years..we had all kind of trials ..but our love was stronger than life..sadly lost him in April 21 / 2018...
Everything in the big closet is the way he left it..his clothing arranged in order as he was neat..we caught for his life for 3 months being in icu I could not give him up...but God had other plans for him and he went to sleep...However because my strong faith ( not religion ) know well we will be together again one day..So I hope you guys will be happy for years to come..

My sister has been recently diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer and I just cannot bear the thought of losing her so I know some of what you are dealing with. It's Bea's journey & her choice if she wants to share any part of her medical information. Your comments are as invasive as if I were to ask you details about your vaginal health. Is that something you feel comfortable sharing with complete strangers? Would you share that on your social media platforms?

Hang in there. There is always a brighter day coming. I cried to not hear Bee's beautiful laugh. I deal with chronic depression and have since I was a child. Now 72 and just power through on some days. Your love for her is so apparent and your support of her is beautiful.

I know how losing an adult child feels, the club nobody ever wants to join. Thinking of you now. For my family it’s been 12 years and grief has become a friend. Not what I expected but I can check in with my son, and that makes grief ok.

What a wonderful Sunday, (just through U tube reality) I met Theo at the airport. I recognized him in his favorite only shirt. We jumped on our flight quickly. He told me we were going to see Bee, I could hardly wait to see my friend again. There she is, together again. (I went back to reality watching the u tube video in my own home.) But Bee and Theo kept on going. Oh look, there's Fernando, and Gingy Bear!!! Get in the van and car quickly you four!!!! Together again, best way to start the day. Thanks Theo and Bee for sharing this adventure. The world is a little messed up, but for 33 minutes and 32 seconds it slowed down a bit. Keep going you two. Be brave for the rest of us, it's encouraging.😊

Theo, have just watched this video as soon as I saw you going into a main stealer I knew things wouldn’t turn out well. As others have stated, there are a myriad of much cheaper and less corrupt garages out there for your MOT. Having said all that, your van isn’t the priority is it and on that note it was so nice to see Bea in the video. Look after each other 👍

Right! A therapist taught me many years ago that I "could not give if the well is dry" ! In relationships or in my work as a Physical Therapist, it reminds me to take care of myself so I can continue to take care of others. We all need some support at times. Take care Theo.

It is encouraging to hear that Bee is getting help and that you have been so honest about this part of your journey too. Asking and getting help is important knowing that anyone could need help and that everyone should seek it out if needed helps to know that there can be a light at the end of what feels like a very dark time. Look at it this way, the door has closed on the van right now. That means it is time to really focus on Bea and her long term health. Take the time for her. Be sure she has built up her stamina again, Portugal was so exhausting for her. When it is time to go again, the road will unfold for you.

Good to see Bee again, take the van to a non Mercedes mot station, if the nearside tyre rubs then the offside should do too, sounds like the inner plastic wheel arch might of come loose, Mercedes had my 3 month old smart car in repair years ago and they kept it for 6 months as they couldn't repair it, customer service was terrible in the end they said it was tough they couldn't fix it and it wasn't their problem, i got a national car magazine involved and I got a full refund within days plus compensation, they are only interested in owners of luxury mercs

'We're' mixing issues here. Canada has no relevance to the UK. The UK MOT stations, where equipped to do so, may AFTER a failed Test, make repairs and re-Test. What they are NOT allowed to do, is 'dismantle' the repair and put the vehicle back into its previous failed MOT status... 10000% illegal and SHOULD BE REPORTED! End of!
Take the plastic liner out, it’s not part of an mot, does it still rub? If only one side is rubbing is the tracking out? Here in Portugal it would fail an ipo as the tyres are not the original sprinter tyres, it has to comply with the sprinters original homologação.
I thought Sprinters are only allowed to be worked on & inspected by Mercedes dealers, at least that’s what a former Sprinter YTber just said on their podcast. Maybe that’s specific to the States.🤔
Mercedes can be a bit shit in the UK - contact Mercedes in Germany if you have any issues with any UK dealers, in my experience they usually sort out issues pretty damn quick. Usually going on the Mercedes FB page posting your negative experiences also helps. By the way Mercedes are the only make of van that you cannot get an ignition key cut on the roadside by the AA , don't ask how I know that one...... welcome back to 'rip-off' Britain Theo. . Just 'out' the garage as well........ people need to complain and make it public about the shit service a lot of places provide in the UK, instead of just moaning about it.

It might be worth finding a council MOT centre in your area. They are not allowed to do repairs, just the tests so they have no way to make money off you which means the test will be unbiased.

Thanks! Never heard of these until now and what a great idea!
We have special offical MOT centres here in Spain, they only do tests. There are usually about 8 lanes with 2 mechanics doing the tests in each lane. The mechanics have to do an offical state exam to be able to work in the test centres. The price of the MOT is fixed by the government . A garage cannot do the test only the repairs. I like this system better, years ago my mum was constantly ripped off when it was time for the MOT on her car in England, so nothing has changed!
@@gj5666 we have the same system in Ireland for CARS, not for vans, they have to go to a DOE centre which is usually a full garage as well. They test vans, lorries, buses etc

I am rooting for both of you and sending my love and well wishes to Bea. I struggle with depression myself and know the obstacles that it can throw up in everyday life. Just let Bea know she has touched so many lives with her personality and smile and is an inspiration to thousands of people around the world. Love you guys!
Keep counting your blessings and try to focus on everything that is going right..that helps maintain the attitude of gratitude. (I say this as I'm struggling to deal with my testy complaining teenager, so I am practicing what I preach) I've sent him off with a tour guide to see the 'cooler' parts of Portugal because Obidos is too 'boring'. lol so I am extremely grateful tour guides exist! Wonderful to see and hear Bee is on the mend and receiving the help she needs.
I will recommend just focusing on alternatives as opposed to the problems...the accumulation of problems creates excessive worrying and frustration which leads to being overwhelmed and despair! Bee needs you and you do not want to be in a situation where you cannot help her or yourself! ...like the saying goes when life gives you lemons make lemonade! I know it is easier said than done but the more you detach yourself mentally from your problems the more control you will have...!
Poor Dad was abandoned in Orkney?? That's a long solo drive home! Bee looks so great!!
