  • @kaitlynmorgan4613
    @kaitlynmorgan4613 Před 23 dny +2757

    the reason why calling women "females" is weird is because, in a sense, it implies they arent human and it objectifies them. "woman" is a whole human. "female" is a scientific term to use regarding animals, insects, flowers, and fish. calling women "females" indicates the persons sex takes more priority than them being a human. "woman" is a noun, "female" is an adjective, and people arent an adjective
    would these men hate being called boys or men and therefore prefer "males?" i feel like i never see incels call men "males," so like?
    edit: yall dont see the point. click asked why "female" sounds weird to say, and i explained. doctors are gonna use male AND female to describe patients. legal documents are going to put M or F on it. the problem lies when incels refuse to call women anything other than a scientific word that reduces someone to their "parts" so to say
    im not saying you cant say "male or female," cause if the sex/gender was so important to say like in "my female boss," you wouldnt say "my boss whos a woman" cause its lengthier

    • @FunkyLittlePoptart
      @FunkyLittlePoptart Před 23 dny +1

      They aren't implying anything. Incels don't think women are people, they're things, objects (specifically a container for a penis). Let them talk for 30 seconds, they'll tell you exactly what they think.

      I actually remember playing D&D online with a group of friends for just a oneshot weekend. One guy asked if he could bring his friend along that was having a hard time and he felt like he needed a better friend group. We are a pretty open group of weird engineering types so we said absolutely! The makeup was 2 women and 3 men if that matters. We were all playing and having a fun time and the new guy seemed to be mixing in well. We played for like 4 hours and then planned to finish it up the next day. Apparently the guy complained to that friend that the "female" were super annoying and he needed to be drunk next time. He didnt realize that my friend Robby was actually a women as well (short for robin and took her nick name after her father that passed), so its clear he was talking about me.) I thought ok I can be and probably was chatty so maybe I can tone it down. The next night I made an effort not to be "annoying" and he got mad at me saying "Do I really have to address you by name for you to listen?!?". He was kicked out afterwards and even though we lived in different states and he has no idea where i live it was really scary.

Well, the way that guy talked was unhindged but I mean in general at any guy that feels insecure. I hope to help, even if it's one. If you get a woman in the smaller percent that judges you for something natural that should be a good thing, you don't want her, run. It's not some "all women think this way" thing or a masculine thing, it says everything about this _person_ and not you. She's an asshole. Doesn't mean all women. If a guy was totally quiet I'd be insecure lol. And if it sounded like he was grunting unnaturally like an animal to not sound "feminine" it would just take me out, i just can't. But I do know men can be insecure so I have always told someone I'm being intimate with it feels great for me and helps me know what direction to go in. It's made things great. re: the women wanting to get their tubes tied and the doctor saying no - this happened to me! I am a woman, I am 28 years old, I do not want and have never wanted children. I went to the doctor to talk about birth control options, I expected that it would be pretty chill experience, as it has been before. When I mentioned maybe getting my tubes tied my doctor was like "I guess, maybe, you need to talk to our birth control nurse" which, alright, sure.
    I talked with her, she mentioned some other options, and I was like okay, but could I maybe just get my tubes tied? and then had to sit through a convo with this nurse where she went "Are you sure you don't want kids? are you sure you will never want kids? well, your biological clock IS ticking, so you would need to have kids soon if you want them anyway" Through all of this I said "I am sure, I do not want kids" over and over. THEN she said "okay, but.... wait, are you in a relationship?" and my answer was yes, I have been in a relationship for 10 years, he also Does Not want kids, he wants kids even less than I do (and even if he wanted kids, so what?? he certainly will not be using my body to get any)
    Now, I hadn't expected that comment, I am from Denmark and I thought because of that my doctor would be more "your body your choice", and at the very least I expected the convo to move on after that.
    BUT THEN. AFTER I JUST SAID YES I AM SURE 100 TIMES, ALSO I AM IN A COMMITED RELATIONSHIP AND HAVE BEEN FOR 10+ YEARS AND HE ALSO DOESN'T WANT KIDS. INSTEAD OF SAYING "Alright, here are the logistics and risks etc etc" SHE WENT "Okay. I hear you. But what if you and your partner break up, and you get a different partner and HE wants kids?"

    3) don't be a dick (this includes not lying, not cheating, and avoiding anything a reasonable person would qualify as "douchebaggery")

    Funny thing with the video game stuff, the protagonist in Fable has traditionally not been intended to be particularly attractive, and yet certain people are already whining about how the default female protagonist looks. The male has never been attractive, and I'm pretty sure the developers even said you're not supposed to be attractive. You get less so as your character ages and gains scars etc. The point isn't for you to run around being hot, it's that the force of your personality either attracts or repels people as you become more heroic or more villainous.
    Similarly, Aloy isn't there to be a hottie. She has a very well-written personality, and the game hasn't been about romance in the first place. It's about her interaction with the world, the mystery surrounding her birth, and her efforts to save the world. I just don't understand why some people (it's mostly straight guys, but let's be clear, there are women who rally behind this too) insist that all video game characters must be conventionally attractive. I think Aloy's actual design looks better than that design the guy "remade." She looks like she fits into the world she lives in, rather than like an actress with augmentation surgery who happened to get a role playing Aloy in a movie.
    I think it wouldn't hurt us to have more characters in media in general who aren't super-sexy. More so women than men in video games, because men already have a larger variety of appearances, but we could stand to follow the example of TV in the UK, where the actors aren't all perfect. Some might not even be attractive--and that's OK, if they are great actors who successfully portray their roles. It's weird to feel I need to say this, but we really need to normalize being normal.

I even brought my spouse with me to the appointment to meet the surgeon, in case the doctor tried to talk me out of it. Much to my surprise, I think I found the ONE surgeon in Alberta that says "her body, her choice" and means it! A year and a half later, due to a nasty virus and a short staffed health care system, I am now sterile and living my best (mostly) pain-free life. As an aside, the "this is how you age if you're unproblematic" is equating being a good person with looking good. It's common in general, not just among the "fEmAlEs aren't human" crowd. Looks and character are not tied together, and the focus on celebrities is more or less telling us that having money and access to plastic surgery and dermatologists etc etc means you're a good person. It's BS.

This guy in the class stated that he understands a female character better than any of the women in the class did (whist speaking derogatorily of her and misunderstanding her entire character) because he "understood females better than they did". Worst what when sony was showing off just how amazingly detailed their graphics were because they were able to show the tiny bit of peach fuzz on Aloy's face and people were saying she had a beard. i have seen a lot of guys post absurd standards, but the 120lbs+ one literary made my jaw drop, 120lbs is 55kg. I weigh like 60kg and am skinny AF (I sport a lot, don't eat a lot and have very good metabolism) so I'm def on the skinny extreme, but 55 kg is nothing for an adult.

      Not defending that guy but it really depends on height too. For some people 55kg might be a totally healthy weight. Let’s not go in the opposite direction and make small and skinny people feel inferior.

      yeah, that's a healthy weight for a height of like 150-160, they either want someone very short or someone extremely thin with these measurements and don't realize that the latter comes with "flatness"

      I weighed below 55 Kg when I was like 13 years old and refused to eat to be skinny to an unhealthy degree-
      So yeah, that guy is fucked up

      @@gamingkitty6744yeah true, i'm pretty average height (1.75 ish, haven't measure in years but it won't be far off) so i'm def a bit to light to be super healthy but i know a lot of women that are 1.5-1.6 that are roughly the same weight, which is considered healthy. But we all know that 120lbs is in not a single world heavy (talking about adults obv, but considering he says 23 is too old who knows)

      My ex was like, 120lbs and complained she felt fat because her tummy wasn't flat. There is no standard that'll satisfy the worst men and most insecure women

    41:09 I’m a trans dude and I’m jumping from a few different methods of contraception specifically for the purpose of stopping the period until I can save up for proper HRT. Contraception does stop your period, however make sure you get a non hormonal one (like the 12 weekly injections) otherwise you can get cramps all the time even when you’re not at that time of the month, and it can make pre menstrual depression worse

    Yeah as a girl in her early 30’s, I can say, some of the dating expectations have not changed. I generally go on dates with guys between 30-35. A fair number of them get upset there isn’t a “spark”after meeting one time. I don’t know if it’s an excuse for some other reason or if they truly expect that. Maybe inexperienced? 🤷‍♀️ very annoying when I’m looking for a real connection after getting to know someone, not a crush. And these guys have seen my photos before. They know what I look like.

    9:26 Some dude asked for my number when I was at work. He started with “are you single”, and I was honest and said yes. Long story short I was honest but was still able to say no to giving my number. The guy was really nice and said it was okay. I was very flattered, and the only reason I said no even though I’m single is because I just got out of a long term relationship and wanted to be alone. Otherwise I would’ve given it, the guy was handsome! Sometimes it’s not even about the other person, sometimes there’s personal reasons for rejecting someone. It was a breath of fresh air to have a nice interaction, too.
