Dude, I don't think any first lady ever has ever done secret service training ever period much less been a body guard for their husband. Seems a little odd anyone would think or demand that of a women who has her own job to do considering the first ever known active first lady in office was Edith Roosevelt to ever really do anything as she pushed for housing construction by her husband and that was back in 1901 - 1902 and the role has evolved a bit since then with more active involvement every time

I’m in my sixties now. I married, divorced, and had a child in my early twenties. Dated a few men in my late twenties. Realized my taste in men was horrible and stopped dating by 30. Raised my child, bought my own home. Went where I wanted, when I wanted. Paid someone for yard work, home and auto repair and have lived a pretty good life. Yes, I got lonely sometimes, but not enough to give up control over all the things I have enjoyed in my life. Some people get along just fine without a spouse or significant other.

Ya, Jackie Kennedy tried to piece her husband's head back together. It's one of the most tragic things I've ever seen filmed. It was so utterly desperate and primal, and we somehow have documentation of it. No one's worst moment should be filmed like that, but we have it, and the only lesson we should learn is compassion. You can see in the moment the only thought she had was piecing him back together. Maybe hoping he'd heal, maybe just not wanting the public to see him like that. It doesn't really matter which, it was so instant and instinctual. How anyone could make judgements and not just feel for the raw humanity blows my mind

@@virtchuual8041 I honestly think her thoughts were probably most akin to that's not supposed to be over there, that's supposed to be part of his head. It broke me, knowing that whatever she was trying to do was futile. But she was clearly in an autopilot desperation mode. Crash course in empathy right there. We know now that they had problems, that he wasn't as good of a husband as he should have been. But in that moment none of that mattered. She NEEDED to try, she NEEDED to do what she was doing. There was no thought to more rounds being fired, there was nothing except the need to piece him back together. It's still one of the most agonizingly human things I've ever seen. And I'm also glad that it helped foster empathy in me. That's probably the only saving grace to that footage being available.

Reminded me of the time this week where I was preparing a whole speech about how I'm still under the weather and felt bad about "ditching" the friend I was supposed to hang out with but when I met no resistance from him and just got a "Okay, feel better" - no fight, no sigh and groan I nearly cried when I got off the phone cause it was so refreshing to see someone not demand answers 😢

Instead of running for her life, she wanted to preserve him, show him respect. He was literally just killed, and her first thought was to try and get his skull piece back. I didn't get any sl*t-shaming but plenty of "you're wasting your life" in various versions of it. Funniest one (to me) was also the most annoying boiled down to "if you don't have kids, then who's going to take care of you in your old age?" There’s a teeny tiny chance something else is going on but if everything else is functioning fine you should be alright. Nami (the girl shown) grew up over 2 years - from malnourished and stressed to being fed the healthiest of foods and growing into her adult body. There's legit reason (beyond just fanservice, which, fair point too, ofc - it's _anime_ ) for her to actually grow out. The men on the crew did the same - went from weeds to buff boys in 2 years. Zoro's chest is BIGGER than hers, even!
But yeah, One Piece is incredible and the characters are great. There's definitely some fan service but it's not a focus at all.

Glad he’s not my husband 😂, my husband is a sweetheart never raised his hand to me nor our kids. But i told him from what kind of household i came and that i made a promise to myself, no man will bring me down for his own game, no man will ever hit me again, no man will belittle me ever again, and im not obligated to have sex when I don’t feel like it. He agreed that i should stand up for myself, he’s only thing was about the sex part to at least talk about things what im comfortable with and what not. I had a temper and found myself in a dark place. He pulled me out of it by standing next to me, holding me when crashing and talk to me and listen. We are now married for 31 years this year and still we go strong. I told many times its either the skillet after the head or a knife. I have ptsd due to everything my stepfather put us through. My diagnosis came late after giving birth to our children. And still working on it. When some man wants to bully me and call my husband a pussy he tells them I wouldn’t want to make her angry she’s a devil in disguise. She can defend herself don’t worry but i wont be helping you if she gets you. Only if im really in bad shape he’ll stand up for me; that’s what we agreed on.

My daughter was stalked on a train, she texted me i told her brother shoes now! dog in the trunk and off we went, my son knew that his sister was in trouble if im acting like a drill sergeant. That day i was dressed in dark cargo pants, hoodie and dark shoes, and next to me a black german shepherd. My son sat on the stairs or moved so he could watch to spot her. The moment i saw her i went in the middle of the path and she was so afraid that she didn’t even saw me! So i told Eri to fetch our kid, let the leash go and boy it was close he reached out for her but went as white as a ghost turned around and ran of. We did put a complaint down. They tried to say but he wanted to talk with her, i told them look she’s a minor and its my duty to protect her. And grown ass man doesn’t need to stalk her and wanting to grab her. They looked at the cctv with the police and they started laughing so hard when they saw him ran off. He was known by police for it. So we never had to go to court due the fact he was in prison soon after for mistreating he’s own wife and kids he nearly killed. I was glad that my dog was there because i would have a fight with that man.

I am relieved to not find posts about mansplaining female reproductive processes in this video (which unfortunately are common).
I recently came across a thread about a cis male lawyer explaining to women why pads and tampons shouldn't be low priced/free.
There were like 30 women trying to explain why they are indispensable, but he kept thinking that if women survived without them all these centuries it was because they are a luxury.
Like... He's not even a doctor. He doesn't even have a functional uterus. How can he be so sure?
Do you know what also didn't exist before and yet humanity survived?
Penicillin. And people used to live to be 50 if they were lucky.

    • @falleithani5411
      @falleithani5411 Před 28 dny +42

While I almost entirely agree with you, your counterpoint is not well-executed, as it's based on a misunderstanding.
The 'people used to live to be 50 if they were lucky' thing is mostly a myth, from confusion about how life expectancy is calculated and what it means. As a general rule, most people who survived their own childhood would live to be 60 or more, throughout history. The average lifespan was so low because babies and children were dying in droves. The elderly _are_ living longer, but that change has mostly been an increase from a senior population of about 60-80 throughout most of history, to one of about 70-100 today.
That said, penicillin is still a great example. I'd also recommend vaccines, soap, toilets, toilet paper, running water, and 911. There aren't many people who genuinely want to live in a world where most people don't have access to those.

For people who think that women don't need "luxury" items like pads and tampons because they survived without them in history, should have toilet paper taken from them. Have them deal with it the way people did before toilet paper was invented. Then give them pinecones to use...
Pads and tampons are call sanitary items for a reason and less women get sick when using them! I can't imagine reusing a rag without having real detergent to clean them thoroughly and have old blood and bacteria still on it.
